- We are pier fishing using gotcha plugs. These fishing lures work great for pier fishing because they can cast far and cover a lot of water. It is pretty simple to use, give the lure a cast and twitch it all the way back. If you want to join in the fun, give a gotcha lure a try next time you are at the pier.

I use a short metal leader when fishing like this. Save lots of lures, and the fish do not seem to mind.
Great,workout
@@amandawoo7330 workout?
Used these lures back in 2000 at Pensacola pier also had to put wire leader on to keep the lure. We also used a small weight with a wire leader and a piece of drinking straw when you didn't have the money for a gotcha!
This is why people who live on the coast are happy 😃 so much fun!
One of my good friends in AL kills it Spanish Mac fishing every year, and all he ever uses is a 3in piece of a MacDonalds straw, with a bullet weight in front, and a treble hook on the end... dude kills me every year...
Lol, I just posted about a straw up top didn't read to see yours until I got done.
Have you noticed how at 2:03 onwards in the vid the reel's line changes color from red to blue when skipper's on a fish???
its the braid its spliced so its has red line and blue line when theres no more blue line it reveals a second color
RIP to Pastor Dave, Aaron’s father on the video. This video will forever be my favor with the Arlington’s on there. Thanks Skip.
Great video content as always and Erin the quality was perfect.
Your vids definitely help a lot for shore fishing the Pacific Northwest , creativity and enthusiasm is key, thanks so much for the passion
Thanks so much for watching! Your comment makes us happy to be part of the fishing community. Hope these vids can help create some more fishing memories in the future
I love using Gotcha plugs, I don't go fishing without them. Another great video, I enjoy watching how to videos.
Happy to help!
Great vid 👍 loved all the input from the pier
*Lures looks very realistic even prunked my friends with it.Looks very durable **enjoyable.fishing** recommend sunk very good into the water.Cons: Storage package could be bigger.*
Loui cracks me up man!!! He was going for a snook when everyone else was trying the plug hahahaha
playa4lizife lmao I wanted a snook
You guys should come film some light tackle trout fishing videos here in the Great Smoky Mountains. Trust me the scenery alone is worth it!!!
awesome video haha those mackerels look so fun to catch on the lures!
It was awesome. Non stop action
Hello there, love your videos. Could you do more catch and cooks? Love to see the different way to prepare your catch.
Amazing video love the fishing action love the music in the back round 👍
Great to see you guys at the RI saltwater fish expo🤙🏻
Awesome meeting you!
Was just there about 3 or 4 weeks ago we got 4 sharks form the boat and we hooked one with a top water poper lol. Love Lurer your uses been fishing with them for years thay work great for bass to lol
You guys should try the panhandle side of FL like Panama City, Okaloosa Island, Navarre and Destin area. Great fishing in the gulf and some of the best beaches In The world. I use to use gotcha’s a lot when I was younger like 15 years ago but you have to put too much action into it for it too really work. Now I use a Clark spoon tied to a bubble rig. I slay Spanish and bluefish with them as well as lady fish tied to 50 lbs mono or higher.
hey man, i gotta leave a comment finally. vids are great n all but the DnB is solid! I thought I was the only one who listened to this while fishing! cheers from southeast florida
I've got that same lure, didn't get it to work for me/at my place but I'll try again with this technique! Thanks :)
I've been catching with Gotcha's since the 70's, great lure for Spanish and Taylor Blues
Your dad is kicking butt! Lol Great video! Can't wait for vacation!
Where r you from Tracy?
Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania@@HeySkipper
Great video! Those Macs love the Gotcha plug. Great that you pointed out to use a 50lb leader to prevent bite offs! Waiting for the waters @ IRI to warm up, hopefully can see ya there!
What rod would you recommend for a 4k reel using gotcha plugs, bubble rigs or xraps for macks/ladies/blues and baby jacks?
Wow nice fishing lure 😀
Nice I love that lure
Try putting a 6” wire leader with a swivel to the gotcha plug
Love them! I forgot all about them lures lol! I like them with buck tail teasers attached
Man fun stuff. I never really used em much before this
Tieing, It's true. I'm getting more comfortable with tieing and I change out rigs and lures faster as I want now.
You guys make great videos! You two make a great team!
Awesome to hear! That’s for letting us know
Awesome one as always bruh , Erin and pops
Thanks!
Where did you get the handle for the stradic ci4? Does it replace the whole handle or just the knob?
Muy buen video!!!! Saludos desde Argentina!
Love these videos because ive seen those lures in every bait shop along the east coast piers and never knew anything about them to make me pick one up
They work. I saw some guys on the n padre island jetty killin’ Em with that exact plug. King fish!
I’m in st Pete’s beach any tips for fishing the area this time of year I’d drive a little ways if need be. Thanks
I spy twin powers lol. Glad to see every1 hooking up
We've them here in the South for ages. The go to!
What size reel and rod would you suggest I have a Penn Battle 2 5000 and a Penn Fierce 2 6000 is that too big both on a 7’ rod
I've been using Gotchas for YEARS on Blues and Mac. Never fails.
Dad is killin it!
Thanks for the video
I fish that spot all the time with gotcha lures, tip down and snap downwards while reeling = $$$ :)
2 oz gator lure spoons work great too from the surf
Senko!! Awesome video!!
I guess I bought a Look a like in Florida years ago. it does not have the belly wire for the Trebble to slide back and forth.
What action rod and leath of the rod is the best for the gotca plug
I have been using gotcha plugs for years up at oceancity Maryland and even Potomac river when the stripers run they are 1 of the best under rated lures there are
Good for stripers too huh? Good to know!
Iv always wonder what braid line you use
Ordered a gotcha for my fishing trip last month. It arrived 2 days after I got back from the aforementioned trip. At least I'm ready for next time.
Hi, being watching your videos, some good, some not so good. Any, way thanks for the effort and sharing. May I know what type of hook removal is best for deep throat hooked fish.
We used those plugs about 35 years ago at Marco Island, FL. They had a red head and we called them Jerk jiggers. They were good for snook and bluefish but when the tarpon are running, hang on to your gear, because they will inhale it.
i`m gonna try the Gotcha lure on some fresh water striper!
How do you get your spool to change from red to blue when you hook up with fish 2:00?
He might have multi coloured line and cut to later when he has reeled it in a bit.
If you have a all pink one will it work the same as his? Help a beginner
Hey Skipper, nice video, but I have a question for you. What Loomis Rod was that -that you were using?
Ok, bunch of questions here, some might already answered but too much to comb all through.
1.) Metal leaders scare fish away, I have been told, I use 40pd mono. Not strong enough, anything in between?
2.) I used small Gotcha from a friend and got nothing, lady next to me had bigger size and killed it one after another. Any idea?
3.) What kind of knot do you use?
4.) You add weight or this is no go?
Thank you
Great video
I seen that hang up at 2:04 😂😂
i can say from personal use that steal leader pre made with a barrel swivel and clip on the other end i caught about 60 blue fish between me and my friend this past weekend it will save you all that time tying line more for fishing and i used the same steal leader allll day long .
Amigo, que marca de gafas de sol utilizas en este vídeo?
Thanks senko skipper I love theses type of videos with your dad and family keep them coming I love to see more of ERIN hope you come to California soon
Would metal flutter spoons not work better?
Where did your dad buy that green shirt? I'm looking for a shirt like that.
Would a lipless crank bait work?
I have those!!! SWWEEEEETTT!!!
The red and white ones work good also.
Love GotCha plugs! They catch the snot out of Spanish, Blues and at times Speckled Sea trout!
Nice bro😁👍👍
Linda pescaria!!!!
👏👏👏
I fished at that bridge right there. No luck at all. We did catch some Jacks to the left of where your at
Vary good with the new jegg
Looks like Sebastian Inlet. Love that spot
Ya,I was wondering what was their location, & then i saw the inlet currents & white caps,, must be as u say,Sebastian inlet!!, i thought they only had a jetty a little confused, but ill get over it,, but that particular lure yrs ago was called the walking stick,, & back then they where made out of wood, the sea trout went crazy over them!! Good luck on the pier!!!🤟🤟🤟😊😊😊🤩🤩🤩😎😎😎🐟🐟🐟🦈🦈🐙🐙🐠🐠

Skipper Gotcha plugs are not hard to use. I have use these since I was 14 and I am in my forties . It's the Technic of how you hold your rod. The way you do it you're killing you wrest. I am a fan of yours. I hope to one day meet you and show how. great video. your the first I have seen to actually show this lure.

Those lures have great action already...it’s up to you if you want to add your own action to it.
Whats the line test weight and weight on the gotcha?
cool for me one fishing pole. greetings from Indonesia
Do you ever respond to questions? Second time I'm asking you what brand are the orange fishing pliers you are using? Thx
Carlos Charles they are most likely kastking he uses that brand for a lot of stuff.
You gonna be back around hoco anytime soon?
What rod and reel are you using?
Do I need a sinker with a metal lure?
Did you use an egg sinker or just the gotcha lure by itself?
Will they still work if paint wears off
What kind of rod and reel are you using?

Haha it’s about time
Ye they work good my dad also uses freshwater crappie jigs and the mackerel love them
