  • We are pier fishing using gotcha plugs. These fishing lures work great for pier fishing because they can cast far and cover a lot of water. It is pretty simple to use, give the lure a cast and twitch it all the way back. If you want to join in the fun, give a gotcha lure a try next time you are at the pier.

    I use a short metal leader when fishing like this. Save lots of lures, and the fish do not seem to mind.

  • @hyperdriveek7346
    @hyperdriveek7346 4 года назад +2

    Used these lures back in 2000 at Pensacola pier also had to put wire leader on to keep the lure. We also used a small weight with a wire leader and a piece of drinking straw when you didn't have the money for a gotcha!

    One of my good friends in AL kills it Spanish Mac fishing every year, and all he ever uses is a 3in piece of a MacDonalds straw, with a bullet weight in front, and a treble hook on the end... dude kills me every year...

    Have you noticed how at 2:03 onwards in the vid the reel's line changes color from red to blue when skipper's on a fish???

    • @fearmyglock_Valorant

    You guys should try the panhandle side of FL like Panama City, Okaloosa Island, Navarre and Destin area. Great fishing in the gulf and some of the best beaches In The world. I use to use gotcha’s a lot when I was younger like 15 years ago but you have to put too much action into it for it too really work. Now I use a Clark spoon tied to a bubble rig. I slay Spanish and bluefish with them as well as lady fish tied to 50 lbs mono or higher.

    We used those plugs about 35 years ago at Marco Island, FL. They had a red head and we called them Jerk jiggers. They were good for snook and bluefish but when the tarpon are running, hang on to your gear, because they will inhale it.

  • @allenmurgondy5221
    @allenmurgondy5221 Год назад

    Ok, bunch of questions here, some might already answered but too much to comb all through.
    1.) Metal leaders scare fish away, I have been told, I use 40pd mono. Not strong enough, anything in between?
    2.) I used small Gotcha from a friend and got nothing, lady next to me had bigger size and killed it one after another. Any idea?
    3.) What kind of knot do you use?
    4.) You add weight or this is no go?
