You really have a gift for talking during your videos. That’s what sets you apart.. you help us to vicariously feel like we’re right there on the beach with you. Great video and those were nice bluefish no mater where you are.
When the ladyfish get thick it's fun to catch them with ultralight tackle. That's how I learned to use 6lb test, then I started catching snook with it. Bent the shaft in my old Penn 430SS fighting a cobia on 6lb too. All because of ladyfish on a spoon one afternoon with a buddy that had an ultralight. I tried his and bought one a few days later. And I still rather use the light stuff. Ugly Stik has a 7' ultralight tod now that would cast far enough for the beach. I can't wait to take mine to the saltwater. Nice action, cool video. You're almost to 100k and you deserve it!
Did okay at Fort DeSoto this morning for the first time in months, red tide seems gone. A few of us saw a school of jacks pushing bait against the breakwater, total feeding frenzy. Funny part: Jacks were six inches long.
Great video as always. Can you do a Series on reading the beach especially after a weather system changes everything. Maybe give an example of how far you travel walking the beach to find certain areas etc. I love what you’re doing and can’t wait to do the same.
Yes, up here in the northeast Blues get considerably larger but that is still a fun school size to catch. They're great fighters. You want to catch one like that on a 7 foot inshore rig. That's a blast. Hit schools and catch them till you can't feel your wrists anymore and you quit!
*Great item. First cast out of the package caught a nice bass. Pulls smooth in the water and sets up nicely immediately upon retrieval. Worth adding to your tackle box.*
You are one of my new favorite RUclipsrs i just got into surf fishing because I had to move for my health and I just bought a 9ft spinning rod and reel for lures and a 10 foot conventional rod and reel and trying to buy a 11-15 foot surf rod (spinning) Love your videos Keep up the good work!!
I love fishing Blues, they put up such a great fight, especially those gorilla blues we see off of Long Island. I knew as soon as you hooked him what that was...they fight like no other.
Love your videos cameraman Ron...... you...... Bryant....... and bearded Brad love watching you guys videos if you're ever in Jacksonville let me know I love to go fishing with you guys I'm 67 years old at like 25 years old I love going fishing thank you
Man you’re almost at 100,000 subscribers which is absolutely amazing! I was looking in your description for the spoon you were using I didn’t see it. Great video as always brother keep it up I love the beach fishing. Hope you and brant and CMR can do some shark fishing from the beach.
I. Live in Maryland, back when I was in my teens, a long time ago, we were catching 20 and 30 pounders like crazy, not anymore, they were over fished, now ares are about the size of the ones you’re catching! Brings back some great memories! Thanks! Great video as always!
Looks like ya had a real good time at the beach . Most everything was quality fish . As always you show a great video Matt . Thanks . Tom Daytona Beach , FL. 19 , September 2021 .
BamaBB , Thank U Bro For Providing Fishing Viewing for the Peeps that kan’t always get out there for various reasons: please tell us in detail ( in descriptions ) wat ur actual Gear & Tackle Is so those dat Do Get Out There can know Wat To Buy For Success On Da Water !? Appreciate U Bum !👊🏼🐟🕊️✨
Orange Beach has massive Spanish and Lady fish. It's wild. We normally go to Bradenton FL and we love catching both but normally they are half the size or smaller than half the size of the stuff we caught this year at orange Beach. Lady fish are fun as heck to catch, not sure why you hate them.
In South Africa we call Blue fish Shad or Elf. The record is 10.2kg and we call them green shad as they change to green when over 8kg Average size is 2.5kg however every year countless 5-6 kg are caught. Awesome fish
Here in north Texas, got some nice cat filets. Got bite by a little flathead, lol. I did Galveston in the early 80's. Before it was overpopulated. Shark fishing at San Luis pass. I think I spelled Luis right , who knows. Now I fish north Texas lakes.
I would love to share some beach you if you have a hankering to come to OBX . Citation Whiting last fall, vice slot reds, and big' uns . Water temp lately getting to mid 60 to lower 70 . 10/

@@BamaBeachBum thanks man! Going to NC next weekend and gonna hit the surf and wanted to try some of things been watching you do. Thanks fir another great vid
My first bluefish weighed 18#. In Long Island Sound on the CT side. We were trolling the beach. I was 9 or 10 and I had a hard time bringing that fish in. My dad said he’d cut the line if I couldn’t bring it in the boat. When we weighed it he said “son you will never ever catch one this big again in your life”. He was right. We released that fish and just sat there quietly drifting and my dad was making me laugh at how wimpy I was bringing that in. But that was a TOUGH fight.
Couple questions, for BBB (or anyone). 1) Referring specifically to braid, do you really place much emphasis on braid color vs. water conditions, and.... 2) What do you use to wash fish blood out of your nice fishing shirts?? Spanish and Ladyfish thrash like crazy out of water, and throw blood all over the place! By the time I get home, its well stained in there.
For braid, I would recommend blue because it tends to blend in the most(and it looks cool lol) and for blood, Ive found most simple detergents or cold water will do the trick
Be awsome video idea for a video on baitcasters , casting reels . Using them for this type of fishing. I'll make videos on surf casting with casting setups , especially with lures to . 8 to 10 ft casting setup and use it for plugging
Lady fish are plentiful until one decides to find one for cut bait. Lol...then they are no where to be found.
That’s no joke. LOL!!
This is 100% accurate.
So true lol
Yes
100%

Not surprised at all. Kastmaster-type lures are one of my go to lures forever. Bluefish LOVE them!
Glad to see your tackle has improved over the years. Thanks for giving info on what your using.
I love getting action like that. Great video. Trips like that really make you come back for more. Good job!
Thanks for talking about your setup
Do you tie directly to the spoon or do you use a swivel to counter line twist?
Idk I think he uses a swivel
Absolutely beautiful mornings on the beach. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us. I feel so blessed to be able to ride along.
Respect mate. As an avid angler I always enjoy seeing catch and release. Well done!
What type of spoons are you using been wanting to make a tackle box of just spoons to throw on the surf and jetties
Start my morning off with a little fishing
I'm gonna go here shortly.. by Ponce inlet
Those bluefish were gorgeous dude. Fun to watch you catch them. Great video.
Nothing better than artificial in the surf! That's what made me a subscriber way back when. Thanks Matt 👏👍👊
Halco better be paying you, I’ve bought a couple poppers and spoons from them after watching your videos!
Nice Blues my bro!!!! Up here in Jersey we get them that size too… we use them as bait 🤣🤣
the Halco Twistys are incredible for salt as well as fresh water. Amazing spoons.
Did you eat with a spoon before?
That lure is a slice mate
@@grantsmith505 LOL. In Canada we call them spoons.

Great fishing video with some really nice blues and Spanish

Halco Twisty, seems to be doing the Job.. Catches a lot of fish here in Australia :)
Now I'm confident about trying the spoon lures...Haven't had much luck with lures surf fishing 🎣...

bought a few spoons. No luck yet at the surf. The water is pretty cold in Jacksonville FL so hopefully ill find some success soon.

I'm down here for the week in forte morgan area . How far out are ya walkin into the water and casting the spoons?
Wat name n weight is tat green top water lure pls
That spoon looks like a Kastmaster clone. They work really well.
Try a Lure Jensen Krockadile sometime. They catch everything!
What rod are you using
Halco twisty are a very popular lure here in Australia, we use them to catch tailor which you call a bluefish
Action packed video
that style spoon was first made by the Luhr-Jensen company over 50 years ago. It was marketed as the Mr. Champ spoon....

So you just reel castmaster style spoons back in without doing any jigging action? Thanks

What's the weights on the spoon and spook.

Have you tried fishing with a fishing drone before?
I never have
This is about beach Fishing not fishing with a drone to get the bait so far out that one gets spooled in 30 second's from catching a shark !
@@stevebahus6781 just need a bigger spool

Headed to the destin area first week of October do you know what’s biting that time of year surf fishing wise?
I’ve never fished over that way. But should be a decent time for pompano, whiting, and maybe some reds.
Can you use a spoon on cedar point pier? If yes how do I tie it on the reel?
Yeah I’m sure it would work. I’ve never fished there. Any strong knot will do!
@@BamaBeachBum thanks will do
Probably be nice if you would link the tackle your using. What spoon???
Halco Twisty, but I'm still scrolling here looking for the size.
Less then 2 weeks. Can't wait to get down there. Hopefully there's some still around
Man, I threw a spoon for hours yesterday without a bite 😆
Nice video you caught so many fish on this lure? What lure, what weight ? Is this a secret? thanks, Johnnie P
what size casting spoon is good for a 3oz to 8oz rod?
Another great video. Love early morning casting!
Nice day on the water
Those halcos are very popular here in Australia. They're killers!
