EA struggled to "keep it clean" and the watchdog ITA was on their case as it were. This Is Your Life had to be recorded as some guests and their friends and family kept swearing. I can just imagine the orchestra playing this in the 1960s or 1970s. The part at 1:00 that shows the ladies playing the instruments reminds me of back in the 1970s when your aunts etc used to wear those types of fancy colourful frocks and 1950s cat eye horn rim glasses or something similar. @Managuense1 You will find it on one of the Laurie Johnson CD's. Its sometimes credited as "Gala Performance" and sometimes "This is your life". He wrote lots of TV music including the Avengers theme.
As a child, I was always inspired by this theme. The composer was uncredited, as the theme was taken from a production library. It would be very hard to find production library music of this quality today. Massive sound, live musicians, and extremely well produced. First heard in 1969 on the Thames ITV revival of TIYL, so its only just made it before 1970 .
I want a clip of the brief intro music you got when every guest came thru the slidy doors!
