This wonderful music from my youth is a powerful antidote to the madness and misery I see all around me, in the present day. Those sun scorched fairways; those great golfing characters of yesteryear; those gaudy Pringle sweaters: it's all contained forevermore in this marvellous tune!

One thing I liked about the late finishes when it quietened down waa the mournful train hooters. There is obviously a railway line or goods yard close to Augusta National.
Always picture a shot bouncing into the 18th green from 30 yards off the green and it lands 2 foot from the pin with Peter alliss loving it as the Golfer in question milks the applause of the crowd who have known for about 20 seconds they've just seen a belter

Born in the early 80s loved this theme, the darts theme and snooker one and wish they were back to their original theme glory like the gold theme is here

My Golf mates and I play this song to each other every time we have a big win on the course....today my mate Simon won his first medal....this song makes everything better.
I've been a golf fan since I was knee-high. This evokes great memories. I just wish the BBC would do more golf coverage. Sky do a pretty good job, and their programmes are well done. However, the BBC has cut this music down a bit and their graphics aren't bad. Anyway, this music reminds me next week is the biggie, THE Open Championship. I shall be watching if my little 3 year old daughter will let me (although she's pretty nifty with her Mothercare golf kit)!
@Rho1963 Was just thinking the same thing. I watched hours and hours of BBC golf in the 70s and 80s, both live and then later on VHS - over and over. Talk about misspent youth - and this music can quite properly be called the soundtrack to it

this reminds me of Greg Norman in the early 80's at the Martini and UK Masters and the Suntory at Wentworth and Seve at the Open and the Americans ruling over us in the Ryder Cup Lol
used to have, sadly they've ruined most of them re-recording them, infact i can only think of one BBC theme tune that the BBC brought up to date that actually worked and that was top of the pops.

This theme tune was the introduction to watching the last round of the Masters a regular must-watch as the final players battled for the jacket. Then after a tie..the play-off holes as the sun set on a much quieter course when most of the spectators had gone home.
Me and my two friends play this tune on our phones every time one of us wins on the Golf course, its become a ritual and its fabulous....what a song....thank you David for uploading....you get a sub from me for that bro and probably another 1000 views in future ;)
