So I have asked multiple youtubers if they would make a series of reviews or retrospectives in these games and you have done so masterfully. Thank you so much for creating these reviews. It was so awesome to see you review these games your awesome keep making amazing content
I don't know how this channel isn't more popular. Just the little things you say like "You can jump, run sprint and crouch" means a lot because I don't think I've seen a review channel touch on movement for every game they review. The way you review is masterfully done and I hope this channel grows a ton more in the future.
Really? I'd disagree. Salem was always my boy. My go to character. But it is totally believable he'd eventually get corrupted and go his own way. That's Salem man.
@@saren7283 Imo Salem fearing for enemy reinforcements AND tryna leave Rios behind was way out of character, it felt forced. Then Rios gets crippled like Visceral srsly wanted to shove them out the way for the new guys.

Exactly, as a sequel it is horrible, as a standalone game it is ok, but once we place it within the context of it being the sequel to The 40th Day, it is just bad.
If the inability to turn off Auto Aim is the worst part, then I'll take 2. There could be worse things, like maybe your partner becoming a bullet magnet when he constantly charges the enemy and you have to keep reviving him. So yeah, I'll take auto aim any day over that.
@@fabioribeiro4627 The PC version of the first game is really fucking annoying. I always liked Army of Two but I remember noone ever talking about it. If you want another cheap, fun, underrated romp; you should try Titanfall 2. That game was so underrated its criminal.
one of the big things I remember from Army of Two (I've only played the first one but always wanted to play 40th Day) was that after fights you could celebrate or antagonize your buddy, and if it was the AI I distinctly remember them recognizing your douchieness and if you tried celebrating with them again later on in the mission they would usually just smack you in the face or something. I always thought that was funny and is one of the reasons why I remember the Army of Two game so fondly
@@sinenomine8739 Well the original & 40th Day were made by EA Montreal, they could give it another shot. I doubt the publisher would bother with this franchise again tho.
Always looked at this games as "throw away" whenever I would come across the series at a local store. After watching all three of the reviews my mind has not changed. Just not my type of game. Not to take anything away from the reviews however. I hate to be a kiss-arse, but I find it staggering a channel of this quality sits at sub 100k subs at least. Keep up the excellent work.
First are fine the second is the best i wouldn't find the second one as a throw away and the first one is surprisingly good but the 3rd is hit or miss I understand tho I used to think it would be whatever but if felt surprisingly tactic for a game that's a 3rd person shooter and look like a gears clone its doesn't play like any game i have played before.
The Army of Two series is definitely the game equivalent of b movie action films like commando or cobra. Spoiler for anyone who wants to play this, I just wish they didn’t make Salem evil. I do believe that and the new leads had 70% to do with public backlash.
In a way, these games kinda remind me of The Expendables. 1 was flawed but fun, 2 was a massive step up from its predecessor, and 3 was decent but not as much fun as the second one.
Honestly The Devil's Cartel was so shit, nothing can beat The 40th Day. To me the multiple approaches in the The 40th Day was more fun than more intense action, the enemy mini-bosses which required the players to coordinate to hit a weak spot was more fun, the cool weapon customization was fun for me, to have a G-36 with an AK barrel, an underslung grenade launcher, a silencer, an ACOG scope, a drum mag, an awesome stock, a gun shield, and with golden camo was stupid fun, the dumb and stupid weapon combinations were fun and added more gameplay, I think that the dumber AI partner made actual 2 player coop shine way more, and was at the core of the design of Army of Two, simply put for me The 40th Day was the last real Army of Two game. I wish they would release the games in PC as a package I would buy them even if they were at 20 or 30 dollars bundled.
Yes, there are many issues. One of them though, is that Salem and Rios look so different. Have you ever noticed that some game engines struggle to recreate characters faces. Why do R&S now have big noses and look pastey. They don't look like they did in the 40th day, which is, I think, probably the closest they ever looked to being iconic characters. This is a sort of petty annoyance, but I actually like characters having consistent appearances, because where voice acting talent cannot always return, reasonably artistic direction can, or at least closer than this.
How did i not know this was by visceral? I saw the Dead Space masks and it never clicked for me lol. This was the first shooter I played on the 360 so i guess my memory is foggy.

Kane and Lynch 2 had a similar negative reception being considered the worst game in its series, maybe one of the worst games of 2011, at least from what I've heard, and it was possibly the reason why there isn't a Kane and Lynch 3.
Kane & Lynch 2 released in 2010. It did underperform so then IO Interactive suffered a bunch of lay-offs and decided to only focus on Hitman. A 3rd Kane & Lynch is even less likely now since IO's no longer with Sqaure Enix who still own the rights to it.
