I’ve enjoyed your work posted on Instagram for the past few years. I’m so glad to know you have a RUclips channel also. I subscribed and will be watching.
Are you waiting at all between applying these layers? If I try to paint at all over paint that thin, it just mixes together and makes a mess. Thank you and great content!
I'm up here in Maine as I write this. Thanks for sharing Colley; you are a king of painted edges!
That is a beautiful painting . It is always such a pleasure listening to you talk and watching you paint , thank you so much.
My pleasure Nick.
It's fascinating how you capture the light, and make it look so easy !
I’m coming up to 40 years of painting soon, just glad I picked up a thing or two along the way.
WOW! Amazing as usual.
Thanks Rocky.
Utterly masterful as usual, thank you so much x
Thanks Margaret.
Lovely! Your grays are always spot on.
Thanks, really happy with how this one came out.
Do you think getting the grays right is the most important aspect of capturing the look of natural light?@@colleywhissonartist

No, I actually work directly wet in wet. The trick is my fast drying medium (Archival Oils) and my control of the thickness of my underpainting.
@@colleywhissonartist Does Galkyd Lite do nearly the same thing with the fast dry part?
Looks deceptively simple when you paint but i know its not 😀 Very Nice 👍
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
