Dang, sad to see your Si go but had a feeling since you ghosted youtube a few months back. You're build was an inspiration to me eventually getting an 11th gen Si and I looked forward to more content that never happened and that this platform desperately needs. Hardly anyone is doing anything on the 11th gen Si and we are left with saturated/tired bullshit on BRZ/GRs and FK8s. Hopefully someone else steps up and becomes the 11th gen god on social media.
Aw man! your car has inspired me. I only have the sport, but I'm doing the HPD kit instead of the yofer because of you, and really your taste has been great all around. Looking forward to it still! Best of luck on the Type R.
It definitely helped in performance quite a bit but fuel economy essentially stayed the same, you tend to lean into it a bit more once modified but if you keep the same driving habits you won’t notice much change it at all
I will never get rid of my si for a type r. The type r bit a lot of features from The Si like the front grill and then claim that is only for type r. The 2017 type r is nicer.
I like the FK8 and FL5! Given the laid back design which I like for the 11th SI and R, in person for me the FL5 knocks it out of the park with the wide body and subtle but aggressive bits throughout
I’m in Los Angeles…I have been driving my si for 2 months now. I totally agree with everything you say. I would definitely get a Type R if I could afford it!!! I use my si as a daily. But congratulations on your Type R! I’m definitely jealous!!!
Hopefully you'll see this, i'm also living in NS and was wondering how the SI was for the winter? Heard some conflicting stories about how the SI handles the winter (Weak heater/terrible wipers)
Totally get that decision. The type R will bring it to another level. I really like them. Ever consider the GR86? I have a last gen 86 and I can tell you they're one of the best sports cars going for the dollar. the new GR86 are gangbusters... plus you'll get the rear wheel drive. I will say tho, I love the colour of your car....
Dude 😮 I was wondering where you went 😢😢😢 Sad to see it Go but Hey look at the Bright side it’s going to a good home and your going to Bring US the TypeR Sweet Mary magdalene 😉😘😘👍🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿 that you get an allocation 😊
Also need a clutch before anything regarding power mods. To run Eth you need a $700 kit and then the tune. For 1K to get 30hp but need a 2K clutch So 3K for 30 Hp, Uhmm yeah I. Sure about that!
@@westcoastplinkin6559 your comment makes absolutely zero sense. You came on to a Civic Si video. Just to say why are folks obsessed with speed? No I’m not obsessed with speed but if a car feels slow and is called sporty… then yeah I want more of that “sport” . Guess everyone’s different
@@westcoastplinkin6559 Because people haven’t driven a 148 hp civic before like I did before I bought my 22 civic si. It’s fast and hopefully reliable. And yeah if people were so obsessed with speed then they should get a boring ass tesla. This has plenty of power and handles very good. The guy that replied to you about how this is slow doesn’t understand that if you’re buying an entry level sports car, weather it’s a mustang, a Honda, a dodge, you are “sacrificing” either power, reliability or handling. In this civic Si’s case is power and thats about it. This 11th gen is better looking that most of the competition out there. Including the new type r looking like an egg just like the GTIs.

It’s a bitter sweet really, the SI was a fantastic car! It was so good that I had to sell it because I couldn’t miss out on this generation Type R
@@MitchMc91 Can't blame you, I couldn't pass up the chance and picked up an FL5 a few weeks ago.
Good luck with the allocation for the Type R. I’m 4th in line at my local dealership for one myself. I enjoyed the videos you uploaded.
100000dollars or highest bidder
@@jayczyzyk9707 That is actually quite literal,
Saw a dealership paper for 74k usd, and with interest around 92k usd!!
I appreciate the kind words, I just took delivery over a week ago. Luckily msrp here in Canada

Hey man I appreciate the kind words, you’ll be happy with your decision! I try to keep it simple but clean just an oem+ look I guess you could call it
I just got my si and was wondering with the tune and down pipe did it ruin the fuel economy of the car ? And was it still nice as a daily

I live in LA too, strongly considering this car, would you say it’s been a good daily in LA specifically?
The SI was fantastic! Soo good it’s what made me have to get this generation Type R!
Yes that's a great choice. Looking forward too you getting the R
Thanks man!

RTV issues though. I wouldn't get one until Toyota gets that shit under control.
@@westcoastplinkin6559 yep. ThAt is a thing. They have promised to warranty that if it causes an issue which is good.
I absolutely love the GR86, my buddy has a boosted FRS and that thing is tons of fun! The Type R for me is like a high school dream haha 😅
Will you still be daily-ing the type R? Congrats on your sale!
Hey thanks! The CTR will be summer only really, gotta use the truck as a daily
What kind of rims do you have? I like the style
Enkei TS-5
What type of coilovers will you recommend?

Yes!
I think the new type r will sell to highest bidder near or more than 100000

I paid msrp here in Canada
WHAT! NOOOO!!!!
I’m sorry!
You're not going to get an allocation on the type r for the next 3 years. Don't waste your time.
Jokes on you he just took delivery from the type r I sold him.
i already blew the head gasket on my 11th gen😂
how!?!?

How did the swift springs go ? They still holding up? Any tire heavy use ?
They were doing good, no abnormal tire wear but wasn’t too long term. I ended up selling the car and getting a CTR
