I got my Si at MSRP, I asked and paid for extra warranties so out the door was $34k, I don’t regret it at all, the car handles AMAZING, congrats on your new car!
Don't get suckered into the additional warranties, they are never worth it and are a total scam that the dealership and finance manager use to pad their commission.
Personally I don’t see the point of buying the si when it’s so much more with a smaller less reliable engine,I rather have a 2 Liter naturally aspirated and then get a turbo down the line. With the right mods you can get 300 hp with that engine.
Got my 22’ Si at $32 OTD, I get 35-40mpg with FBO and a tune at 270whp. I may not be the fastest but it’s so much fun to drive. Don’t regret a single dollar spent.
I think is safe to say that everyone in the comments either wanted one and couldn’t afford it or just being a hater but I do agree that these mark ups are ridiculous.
Pretty sure it will cuz it leaves traces on the ecu. If something ever goes wrong, they’ll most likely blame it on the tune and just like that the warranty is gone.
I found my 24 SI "used" with 1800 miles on it. An older guy bought it, had it for 3 months and had to get rid of it because his wife couldn't get in and out of the car. He traded it in at a chevy dealer, I had been looking for a red si for months. I don't think the Chevy dealer knew what they had. I got it for 29,500 out the door. Still smells new, car is perfect. 100 percent worth it.
"Anything over $1000 MSRP ( markup wise), you're getting screwed". Preach brother 👏👏. Consumers need to be aware of this stealership tactic. It doesn't matter how bad you want the car. No one should pay for any random markup on a new vehicle.
I got my si at msrp but it’s because the dealer told me that I had to buy a $4000 maintenance package after I signed the paperwork when they previously agreed on MSRP they had already ran. My credit came back to me and was like since we’re doing you a favor in finance can you buy this $4000 maintenance package and I was like no I’ll spend less money doing my own oil changes. Thank you and the salesman walked away, saying that they’re just gonna pass up on the deal then and then I went and talk to the general manager saying what happened now my credit is already been affected from the inquiry. He told me give him five minutes he’ll be right back he came back told me they’re getting everything ready for me and throwing in all weather floor mats and wheel locks at no cost to me after tax title, license and destination I walked out paying $33,700
@@barneyboyle6933 direct sales of vehicles have become a thing now. Even in the very traditional Indian auto market, newer Gen companies like Ather, Ola, and Simple EV are shipping directly to customers.
Totally understandable as to why you switched to the 2.0L NA hatchback. As far as engines go and direct injection, it’ll still take time to see the difference in reliability between NA and DI engines. But going NA while still saving almost $10K is a good move. I hope it serves you well!
Did hear that correctly? The Sports Touring is natural aspirated K20 while the SI is Direct Injected? I thought all this generation (2022-24...) Civics use DI's.
Fortunately I'm a short king so don't have the headroom problem lol but $7500 markup on a "cheap" car is insanity. I still think the 11th gen Si is a really good car, we're just going to have to wait it out though.
After watching your video I test drove the manual Civic Sport Hatch and was shocked when the dealer wanted 3k over msrp. Got a manual Mazda 3 Hatch for under msrp instead.
Port injection was the main reason I got my 2015 Civic Si Coupe back in September 2019. I could have bought a new 10 gen Si...but the turbo and direct injection was the deal breaker for me 😅
I shopped a '22 Si last Fall. The dealer I visited really didn't want to work with me, crazy markups here in southern California for the Si at the time. After my Honda dealer visit, I used TrueCar to get prices for a '23 Acura Integra A-Spec Tech Package with stick ... got my Integra at MSRP, basically the same amount the Honda dealer was trying to get out of me. I'm very happy with the Integra thus far. I switched over from a '16 Honda Accord Sport CVT, wanting to get into a stick again. All of my prior daily drivers had been stick to this point ('85 Accord, '92 Accord, '00 New Beetle, '04 Mazda6 V6). I wanted to get an Accord Sport stick, but no inventory, and we were in hurry to add a car. '22 Si looked perfect, but the inventory and pricing craziness made me go up brand. My wife is happier with the look of the Integra (less boy racer), and I love the additional tech features that I originally didn't think I would like. RE: headroom, I'm 6'1" and prefer not having a sunroof too. I fit fine in my Integra. A lot depends on if your height is more in the legs vs. upper body. RE: the engine, my son has an '18 Civic EX-T with a variant of the 1.5L turbo. It still goes fine, no issues. It's unfortunate that sticks are so hard to get in the lower trims. Sticks were called "standards" back in the day, right? I probably would have been happy with a Civic Sport hatch with stick like your model. I tried finding a Civic Sport Touring hatch with stick, but those are impossible to find too. So, I went with the path of least resistance ... more money than I wanted to spend, but all good at the end of the day. Integra is definitely a fun "little" car. I was hoping it would be smaller, it's not much smaller than my '16 Accord.
I paid 33k for my si this time last year. Only one in town still and i added blacked out emblems and the HPD package(trim add). No regrets. I love driving that car. It just feels soooo good.
In my area the selection of any type of civics was limited, I went with the Si because it was close to the same price as the touring with leather trim added to the seats. I wanted black and since I needed a car now and couldn't wait I went with the Si for 3k over msrp. I don't regret it one bit.
Yep I paid 4K over stick here in CA. No one was doing anything under 36k and some dealers were asking 42k with a bunch of bs addons. The only good thing that came out of buying my si was the lifetime oil changes and probably the gps/car alarm + all weather mats. Anything with a sunroof nowadays is going to touch your head unless the roof is tall at 6’3” unless it’s a SUV/CUV/TRUCK. Regardless, I’m curious if the Si and Type R shifter are going to be a drop in upgrade like they were for the previous generation where you can swap some parts back and forth.
They bent you over probably paying $700 month for 200 hp. In 2018 I bought brand new SS1LE and Type R both paid $40k otd each. I wouldn't buy a brand new car today seems like a very bad decision fomo is real
@@BitcoinTo150K not paying $700 a month. If it was that much I wouldn’t have bought it. Here’s the crazy part about people like you on the internet assuming as per usual. The si I bought for pure leisure. I don’t need the car. I have 3 other ones. Right now I’m trying to look for a type r at MSRP or very close to it or even an Integra type s once that releases. When the FK8 came out it was 20k over here in CA and then 10k over. By the time prices came down my then 2019 civic si was already tuned and had bolt ons so I was completely fine with it over the FK8 even after driving both back to back. Now with the FL5 out I actually like how it looks and the interior.
@Luis Ramirez yeah. I paid 33k for mine. And my payments aren't that high either. I love the car. So it was worth it to me. And that's all that really matters.
@@tonyelrod295 your payments could be $900 for all I care. As long as you can afford it and you’re happy that’s all that matters. It’s got tech, it’s reliable, it’s planted. It’ll outlast 90% of the cars on the road and cheap to maintain.
I bought this exact same car over the Si too. The other thing I liked that you did not mention is this car comes with a spare and the Si comes with a can of fix a flat.
Your videos are part of the reason I'm not looking for an Si anymore. It's definitely NOT worth the markups. Although I'm 6'2" and seem to fit on a test drive, I would prefer more headroom. The K20 motor is also rock solid reliable. I had a K24 in my old Accord, never any issues. I definitely want a manual and feel like this is the one I want now. Just need to test drive it.
Why not get a 8/9 gen Si save yourself over $20k if that's what you prefer? The new civic will be more comfortable and quiet but at that point just buy a Lexus because new Honda engines are lame. Type R $60k for 300 hp will blow up past 400whp, Si $40k for 200 hp will blow past 300whp, and This car $30k for 180hp and no aftermarket support to blow up 8 seconds 0-60
different lane, but the new wrx has a lot more room. I'm 6 4 and fit in the SI, but can't deal with the whole markup thing base wrx is the same price about 30k
@Dylan VB WRX yup I've seen them low as $28k discounted. They make amazing power stock and modded wish Honda did the same. The resell will be just as good Si but poor mpg of course. It's sad as a die hard Honda person over 25 years I'm taking WRX or Elantra N over Si any day
Wow. That is crazy for a car nowadays. Back in 2019 I wanted a type R but dealers wanted 50k for them. Instead I found a 2009 Si with 49k miles and cost me 10k. I love it.
@salsaman9696 this was in 2019 before covid. I was really lucky to find a 1 owner car, all stock, and all maintenance done at honda. As of now, the odometer just crossed 62k miles.
Thankyou for this review I live in SoCal and commuting is a way of life and I did to want to pay an arm and a leg for monthly payment for a new car and this fits the bill perfectly.!
I have a 10th gen si coupe I want to upgrade to a 11th gen. My local dealer wanted an extra 3500. I asked why? Like what is this 3500 market adjustment going to? They said that’s how things are and that it’ll sell. Super sad
Totally agree with you been searching for months for one at msrp its literally impossible and to travel to a dealer just to get there and for them to say it "just got sold but we have this one its just 5k over msrp" isnt worth it such a shame because honda actually made a really good looking car for a decent MSRP price tag such bs
Got the Si at MSRP. Didn't have to travel far, but did have to wait about 10 months for my allocation to come up. Great car, but agree, wouldn't pay a market premium.
The first place i contacted told me there was no mark up just some dealer add ons, then they handed me the quote that was $48,000. It took me 3 months to find a dealer that would sell msrp and then i waited 5 months for the car to arrive from a dealer 3 hours away. Thats crazy that you don't fit in the 11th gen si, hows your headroom in the s2000 with the top up.
I got screwed too. I paid 35K out the door for my 2023 Si. ($3K markup). The two reasons why I bought it anyways, they were giving me WAY more money for my trade than any other dealer, and two there was only 3 other Si's in the entire valley. I dont have time to drive around to pick one up, see what they'd give for my trade, etc. Most dealerships were only givng me 29K for my trade. This dealership gave me 32K. If I didn't have a trade I would have shopped around.
Either you had a defective Honda seat or you didn't have the seat down all the way as I am 6'4 with a long torso and autocross with the helmet all the time with no headroom issues.
I'm 6'2" and fit fine in the new Civic with a sunroof. My dad was 6'3" and his knees would be up beside the steering wheel in any car I owned. He was all legs. Whether you fit will be based on your height and your upper:lower proportions.
I’m planning to buy a sport hatch soon also in like 4 or 3 months. I wanted a touring or an si but it’s just like u said the mark ups are wild for no reason 40k for a civic is just madness but was that the full price after taxes 30 grand??
I bought a 2023 Sports Touring for almost 29k brand new. It was marked up to 32k but I declined some of them and also had cash, so, I was able to bargain the price
If your going to pay that much you midas well upgrade to an Integra. Plus all Integras are hatchbacks unlike the Civic SI. After seeing how versatile my 95 Integra hatchback has been I would only go for another hatchback.
i got quoted $38.5k for a 23 Si with 1500 miles on it and many others for 33-35k i went to the acura dealer and got an integra for under msrp its also worth noting how much they shafted the US spec Si (not Canadian) just to keep the price point consistent (or so they claim)
You’re absolutely correct, the new civics SI along with the type R are ridiculously overpriced, reason i ended up buying a 10th gen SI for no more than $25k🤷🏻♂️(15k miles)
I have been a Honda fan for many years! It’s pretty crazy what they are being marked up to!! I bought my first Si in 2009! It was a four door! A few years later I traded it and bought a 2012 Si then traded it in 2014 when they did the mid model upgrade! I then bought the 1.5 t 2017 Si and it was awesome!! In 2019 I traded my Si and got a 2019 FK8 Type R! I owned that until this past January and I was fortunate enough to by a black crystal Pearl FL5 Type R!! I have had a long history with my Honda dealership and was fortunate to pay msrp for my FL5! I love it! I have had such good experiences over time with Honda! Awesome video good sir!! I like your Honda too it looks great!! I like the hatchback!! I was able to fit all of my all season wheels and tires in the back and got them swapped! It is such a practical car considering the great performance! I look forward to seeing more of your videos! Have a great remainder of your week! 🚙👍🏼😃
My first Honda was a 95 Acura Integra LS that I still have to this day as my daily beater when I bought an 05 WRX because it has been so engaging to drive. I plan on keeping it for ever and restore it into a Spoon Sports DC2 replica. The only newer Hondas that have interested me have been the 2024 Type-R and the 2024 Integra Type-S.
I got my first 2022 Honda civic hatchback 6 speed manual and I love it so much, even though I had a chance to get a BMW 3 series or a Volkswagen golf r. But my eyes were just on the civic hatchback
paid 40k canadian for my si, including the hpd kit, 5 year warranty, black emblems and all season package. along with all the extra goodies that come from factory in canada, i feel like we’re pushing more for the si and the US is pushing the integra.
I completly understand that man. I bought my SI and got it for 32k with HPD and some mods from previous owner. I had a NA 10th gen and I will say DI is much better with throttle response but you have to move from ""K"" series to the L series and that is a big change. Good luck with the new car.
Thanks for posting these videos. I still have my FA5 because I haven't figured out what to replace it with, and the idea of that much markup on a Honda pains me.
Supply vs Demand - Si is a wonderful car and will hold their value, as they are now. The 11th gen is best handling Si produced. Everyone loves the car who owns it.
@@tyhyhhno it’s not 😂, plenty of people have blow their motors at 250 hp. Honda didn’t sell it with 220ho because they knew it would be reliable, do your research!!!!
I love my 2018 Civic LX coupe with the 2.0 and manual. And it's listed as 7.5 seconds 0-60 just like the new Si. Regarding your Sport vs new Si, I also much prefer the Sport black cloth seats with headrest vs red "throne" seats in the Si. And there has been a lot of comment about the harsh ride quality in the Si. Also, I'm short. But I hate sunroofs. Why cut a hole in a perfectly good roof? You made the right choice. If Honda would only introduce an LX or Sport version of the sedan with a manual I'd be even happier. But until then, the Sport hatch is the way to go.
because people like sunroofs lol i wager the people who want to cruise around in an Si for fun are far more numerous than the people who need a sunroof delete on the Si for track stuff. leaving the option to delete the sunroof woud be nice though but i guess honda is lazy to do that, and also they have the type r anyways

There’s a Toyota dealership that is selling the GR Corolla for 40k out the door. Why would anyone choose a civic si for over 40k when you could get a GR Corolla
To everyone first anyone want to buy a 2023 civic hatchback 6 speed manual naturally aspirated on silver color for $27000 and does anyone want the name of the dealership that have close to zero mark ups and nonsense fee's let me know my experience with them was Amazing no bs by the salesperson so let me know
damn those new hatchbacks look so good. I love the new interior over last gen also. I bought a 17 si at msrp, and didnt even pay for dealer add-ons (locking lugs, all weather trunk mat, the door ding thing and a few others) I did like the interior, but it wasnt my fav, and the new interior is light-years better
Yup. 6’4” here. I sat in an MSRP Civic Si in the dealership and that sunroof headliner is a no go. I had a Mini Countryman JCW on order at the time but I tried the Si out because it was significantly less expensive. Anyway, Countryman is in my garage now.
My experience was same. I tried to get si and like yours a civic hatch sport 6 speed. Every one I looked was marked up looking at 40k otd. One dealer had a 6 speed hatch touring. Msrp. Guess you can guess what I bought.
Was looking for an SI too and the mark up was also about 7k. Definite deal breaker for me too. The Si also didn’t have a spare tire… while the hatch did. That was another deal breaker
I drove 2 hours to pick up a Civic SI at MSRP. Although i didn't hate the car it didn't impress me all that much. I have a GTI and Fiesta ST along with a few toyotas(late model 4runner and tacoma) and this was going to be my good gas mileage daily. After a 14 mile test drive i found this car to be perfectly adequate but nothing really stands out that great. Handling is good, but engine seems unenthusiastic at best. Suspension felt stiff which is fine, but did not seem to have any good suspension dampening and rebound seemed excessive over small chop. As far as a "fun" car goes it does not hold a candle to my Fiesta ST or my GTI. The GTI might not have as tight of handling but for less than stellar Western PA pavement, it actually works better. With all the mark ups and rave reviews i was expecting a pretty great package with the Si but i was left feeling a little disappointed.
I feel ya bud! I shopped and waited for 9 months until I got one not being marked up at all. Got my sonic gray Si in december, $29950 out the door. I must have the patience of Job lol.
I know they are marking the Si and Type R up but not like this in Orlando. Si in my area was under 32k otd (including tint/mud guard/ wheel lock/ all purpose mats) so I’m not sure 🤷🏻♂️ it definitely depends on where you are located and the dealer.
Makes sense it's Florida terrible driving roads no turns flat just straight concrete so 200 hp in 2023 isn't appealing. Florida and Texas are muscle car states don't got a V8 stay in the slow lane outta way please lol
If I were getting a new car, I'd seriously consider the VB WRX over the Si due to its high ceiling of performance for approx the same price point. They're dyno'ing in at 370whp & 400tq with just a flash
Not a fan of the new wrx styling inside and out. Plus they still get pretty bad mileage for a daily. But yes for straight performance they are hard to beat at their current price point
The new WRX is fugly with all that plastic cladding. Looks terrible. As far as power and tuning it, thats great but it still gets terrible fuel economy and once tuned will be worse. Also, the WRX GT only comes with a CVT? Subaru went off the rails and messed up the new WRX
@@BitcoinTo150K You are probably right. Subaru beat the new WRX with the Fugly stick for 2022 and even if it has the 2.4L turbo it makes barely more power stock vs 2021 WRX and the fuel economy is terrible
I didn't get the 2023 Si cause my old 2017 K20C2 Sedan with 6MT was a better track car. Mainly because the engine/transmission was bullet proof. Could go all day long, around the track and no worry. Also, no engine heat issue...the tire overheating was cause of pit stop. Crazy that Honda is letting the bean-counters decide on the direction of their halo cars.
I have a 2019 with the k20c2…. I ordered a 2024 civic SI and I’m kind of having regrets with my decision. I may just keep my current car as I’ve had zero issues with it.!
What’s wild about the Si is that there are so many listed used with up to 50k miles at around brand new MSRP. What kind of person spends that kind of cash on these cars? These are great cars but they’re not precious, they’re extremely common.
I paid $0 above msrp and chose all my options for warranty package, I had to wait 4 months for the car though due to chip shortages, you have to find the dealership that doesn’t markup whether or not your traveling for it it’s worth not paying $7,500 over msrp for a road trip to get the car you want
The problem with these odd gen civics is that they dont improve them much and just carry over the old models. The problem with the new si is that it it has less hp and less torque and weighs about 45 lbs more. I was lucky to get the ex-t from the last gen because that model had a turbo and a manual. The only way to get a manual is to get an si or a type r with the 1th gen. On the 10th gen, prior to thw refresh, you can gwt a manual on the ex-t, sport trim, or hatchback touring...which is crazy to thinl about since most manufacturers ditched the manual long ago. Even the last gen accord had manuals on their base and mid trims.
Got my 2024 si for around 32k. What put it over was the stupid mudflap package from the dealer for 2k. Im short so headroom isnt an issue for me. I wanted a hatch in stick but it seems to not exist outside of the type r these days. I tried.
They had the car for a week and did all kinds of tests and couldn’t find any leaks. They ran out of ideas and told me to pick up the car. I’m keeping a close eye on it, but it literally has not rained in a month now here in NY so that’s not helping me troubleshoot. I’ve tried pressure washing all around it and no luck. I plan on making an update video but want to have more info gathered before I do
Surprised by new car markups? Look at the used prices for said cars, THAT will surprise you. Used newer Si's with 20~30K miles are listed for 35k and up in my area. Even older ones are holding up mid to high 20's!
Great video Howard Cosell like with you telling it like it is. My best friend here in Charlotte was able to get a local Honda dealer to let him have his 2023 Type R at MSRP after much back and forth. I’ve bought 2 new cars in my life. First was a 1982 Olds Cutlass Supreme which I paid $10,300 MSRP. Then in 1996 my Chevy Impala SS at 24,500 again MSRP. Put 170,000 on the Cutlass sold it to a HS friend in 1993 in exchange for his wife making dinner for us. Still have the SS with 182,000 on it. I agree never pay more than MSRP!
@@NAUS2K It’s infuriating. Went back a week later and it’s still there. They also had one with 6000 miles on it and were asking 32.5k. I refuse to go over sticker. They also had a TL5 and wanted 15 over!! Madness. When will it end?
Just so you know, the Sport Touring doesn’t have the same problem because the seat goes lower. I’m 6’4” and test drove one a few weeks ago and didn’t have any head scraping issues.
I’m seeing the Si for MSRP. Even the marked up ones you can probably talk them down to sticker price. Dealers mark up everything hoping some will take the bait. The reliability issues I’m hearing is concerning though.
I was in the market for a 10th gen Si. But the two dealers that had them wanted way too much. I settled on a '24 Civic EX-L. With my +100 mile daily commute, I think I made the best choice for me. Plus, I have always loved a hatchback.
Yeah I was cross shopping this, Integra, GTI, & others… at the end of the day I went with a red GTi 40 Ae for Msrp. Two thousand less than the civic Si. Also, Honda wouldn’t let me test drive the Si which is borderline insulting. Very unfortunate, I was looking forward to it. Ultimately I’m very happy with my choice.
I bought a 2023 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hatchback and I love it but the car sits way too low and I hate when the engine cuts off and then starts when you accelerate.
I live in Canadian waters, and none of the dealers that I know of does a dealer mark up, I have not checked but it may be illegal on this side of the ditch. Yes, the civic prices are more but also the options are different even on base model LX, has remote start, heated seats, lane departure warning. In addition my son just also got the sport civic and it also came with a sun roof.
I got my 2024 SI for 30k with 3 miles and doc fees were like 600 and warranties at 5k, extremely happy with it, and I got the finance guy to say that their warranty includes the clutch... we'll see though. I've been loving every second with it.
I’m 6’3 also and I have a 23 sport touring, zero issues with head room. Maybe the power seats in my car have more adjustment or maybe I’m more leggy than upper torso so it’s a non issue for me, but I have no issues and love my car.
Those markups are crazy. My CPO 6k mile 23 TLX had extra charges but almost no SH-AWD A-spec models in my area. Still around $46k with 7/100k warranty and LoJack plus taxes. The Integra this TLX replaces I got for MSRP but was sort of a lemon. Fuel nozzle evap leak, seat bottom cover clip broken, remote start problems, dangerous sticky steering, rattles in the door.
Sir, thank you for the last video and this video. I used your tips and found one a little over 100 miles away and we are still negotiating, but they will not sell at MSRP, so we are still a tad over $31K out the door. Your video showed me the actual color (which is exactly what I want) and explained the difference in MPI as opposed to DI. I too want the HPD package, but not available, just like yours. Wish me luck!
I have a brand new HPD spoiler in sonic gray I am probably going to sell. If you get the car shoot me a message on Instagram as I am probably going to post it for sale
I had to laugh when I watched this. This is literally the reason I decided I can’t get the sport touring and have to go with the sport instead. I’m almost 6’ 2” and barely have enough head room with the sunroof. If I had a hat on it would probably be worse. Bummer because I wanted the turbo engine, but I don’t want anything touching my head/hair and I want to be able to comfortably wear a hat. Like you, I have plenty of room in the sport.
I have a Honda civic si 2022 and for some reason I had to take it back to the dealer . After 1 year of owning it . The gear stick was getting stuck n rough. Is that common?
@@SpecialK69420 ohh wow that’s crazy. I wouldn’t wanna trade mines in but . They said that it keeps acting up they can put a brand new transmission for me.
I was quite mad myself buying a car this year. I paid 27k OTD in 2018 for 2019 2.0t MT accord sport. FF 2023, 46k OTD for 2024 Integra. Car is no way near worth 20 grand inflation despite being the premium brand in 5 years. These automakers are making a killing off of us.

why is the headroom different? i presumed only the engine and suspension were upgraded. is it the seat construction or the body is extra reinforced for rollover in an si? -great channel. you made a great decision imo
I got rid of my car bc I had so many issues with it and bought a 23’ Si and after all the additions I made to it in warranties and other miscellaneous add ons specific to my dealer it came out to almost $35k, which coincidentally was also the lowest price in my area, I honestly don’t regret it because I needed a car but I do wish I tried more to lower the price, but overall I’m really happy with the car itself
I checked it out and I didn't buy one either. I'm 6'5" and my head hit too...but it did in my last one as well, and I got used to it. (No track days for me though - no room for a helmet.) The main reason I didn't buy it was the accessories. They took so much away that I consider critical...so I was trying to negotiate some back into the deal. Heated Seats, driving lights, etc. I did manage to get them to MSRP, as that markup was a complete no go for me as well. I asked them to think about for 24 hours and had decided to purchase it, when they tried changing the deal. I walked away at that point and bought a Volkswagen Jetta GLI instead. All the features, all the headroom, more power, about the same price. I liked the looks of the Honda better, but I couldn't beat the options in the Volkswagen. And I love Honda Civic Si's! I was trading in my 2017 Si coupe that I loved....but had a lot of miles on. Felt like a downgrade compared to the 2024 Si, and the GLI was an upgrade.
Surprisingly I’ve found it to be similar in space and storage to my 13 year old 8thgen civic sedan so far. Slightly less trunk depth. Not a ton of room in the hatch for a family of 4 and all their stuff of packing for like a week long getaway. We generally take the CRV for that. Definitely doable and I plan to put a class 1 hitch on this car too so I can tow my small utility trailer. Having the manual trans was a must for me
Cars are plenty big these days, too big to be honest. People like you are the reason cars keep getting fatter and fatter. Cars back then were proper sizes and long as you don’t eat 20 times a day and are fat. I look at my si and wish it could be smaller, it’s so big for no reason almost the size of an old accord. That’s pathetic, it’ll be an suv in 10 years at this rate……
Was looking into getting a new Si for the wife since we sold her 8th gen Si which she miss driving but with the high dealer mark ups it’s not worth it. Talking her into considering a 2nd hand Integra. More luxurious and more amenities and still get the 6 speed manual. A spec tech models only goes for around $32k with only less than 10k miles on it.
I’d still be a little concerned how the car was treated for that 10k miles though. Was it not abused during the break on period? These are things we don’t know buying a used car and the L15 engine is known for having head gasket failures unfortunately later in life
I got my Si at MSRP, I asked and paid for extra warranties so out the door was $34k, I don’t regret it at all, the car handles AMAZING, congrats on your new car!
Got mine for 33,500 out the door. Can’t beat it for that price with a warranty and 0 miles
Don't get suckered into the additional warranties, they are never worth it and are a total scam that the dealership and finance manager use to pad their commission.
@@christopherjohnson2171show me on the doll where the extended warranty touched you
I just got my 2025 Si
The car literally comes with warranties you dweeb
An Si is so not worth the markup. I have a 23’ Si.
Haha, yup sounds about right. I feel you brother😂😂😂
Liar
Personally I don’t see the point of buying the si when it’s so much more with a smaller less reliable engine,I rather have a 2 Liter naturally aspirated and then get a turbo down the line. With the right mods you can get 300 hp with that engine.
Was worth it back in the days..the new models are meh at best..still sticking with the 08-09 gen here. The k20 and k24 for life lol
How do you like it so far? Planning to get one as a christmas gift for myself later this year
Got my 22’ Si at $32 OTD, I get 35-40mpg with FBO and a tune at 270whp. I may not be the fastest but it’s so much fun to drive. Don’t regret a single dollar spent.
I think is safe to say that everyone in the comments either wanted one and couldn’t afford it or just being a hater but I do agree that these mark ups are ridiculous.
Hey I'm getting my si in may, does tuning it voids warranty?
How has it responded to tuning? Any other mods done? I’ve read that if you tune you should be ready for a new clutch
@@saauvikdas7346void? No, but they will absolutely try to deny warranty work as soon as they find out.
Its honestly sad how brainwashed people are now. They think its a steal if you get something at msrp in this market.
Paying a single dollar over msrp is why people still have to put up with the markups
That’s awesome! Way to push back! Most people would have not fought like you did
Do you feel like the manager was in on it? I know, who gives af how he feels or what he thinks but do you think dealerships do this sales practice?
Time to make direct to consumer car sales a reality. Congrats on the new car!
Yes!! It's getting insane!!
Tesla got it right
Direct sales of cars will backfire on consumers the same way direct sales of games, movies, and music did.
@@barneyboyle6933 direct sales of vehicles have become a thing now. Even in the very traditional Indian auto market, newer Gen companies like Ather, Ola, and Simple EV are shipping directly to customers.
@@barneyboyle6933Tell us you're a scumbag dealer without telling us you're a scumbag dealer.
@@samohtsolacad229 The Sport Touring is a 1.5L DI engine. The Sport (non-touring) uses the older Honda K20 which is port injected.
Isn’t it PFI vs DI and NA vs Turbo?
Fortunately I'm a short king so don't have the headroom problem lol but $7500 markup on a "cheap" car is insanity. I still think the 11th gen Si is a really good car, we're just going to have to wait it out though.
Exactly. There is no need to buy any new car right now unless you can get exactly what you want at a fair price.
Any markup is insanity
After watching your video I test drove the manual Civic Sport Hatch and was shocked when the dealer wanted 3k over msrp. Got a manual Mazda 3 Hatch for under msrp instead.
Yeah no new car is worth a penny over msrp, people just buying the hype. Congrats on the Mazda 3 that sounds like a great deal
Got my si at msrp canada 🇨🇦 spec. Great car, handles really good, best interior, can't go anywhere without someone asking me about it.
Port injection was the main reason I got my 2015 Civic Si Coupe back in September 2019.
I could have bought a new 10 gen Si...but the turbo and direct injection was the deal breaker for me 😅
You made the right choice ! I don’t think we will ever see the “fun” k series engines anymore due to emissions standards.
Same reason I refuse to let go of my 8th gen si.
Nice, I paid 30,700 for mine. Just sold it to carvana for 32,300 work 10k miles to get the FL5
I got mines for the same price and that’s with bad credit lol love the car it’s honestly conferrable no way I can compare to wrx or stis
In my area the selection of any type of civics was limited, I went with the Si because it was close to the same price as the touring with leather trim added to the seats. I wanted black and since I needed a car now and couldn't wait I went with the Si for 3k over msrp. I don't regret it one bit.
You’re spot on dude. Was looking at a new Si and they wanted 2500 over MSRP. Nope, not a chance. Went with something else. So stupid
Great point as well!
It's sad as a die hard Honda person over 25 years I'm taking WRX or Elantra N over Si any day
@@BitcoinTo150K good synopsis of the differences!! I would consider the WRX just for the sound and comfort if it came in wagon here like in Oz
Wow. That is crazy for a car nowadays. Back in 2019 I wanted a type R but dealers wanted 50k for them. Instead I found a 2009 Si with 49k miles and cost me 10k. I love it.
Where did you find a FA5 for 10k lol. I’d love to own another.
@salsaman9696 this was in 2019 before covid. I was really lucky to find a 1 owner car, all stock, and all maintenance done at honda. As of now, the odometer just crossed 62k miles.

Same here....took 10 months for it to come in. Paid MSRP
My local dealer tried to markup the same amount in NY too! I also passed on it bc it really wasn't as quick as it should be.
I have a recaro race seat currently in the s2000 so it gets me low. I have more head room in my s2000 than this sport hatchback !
Have you tried shrinking

Not arguing with any of the other points, but I'm 6'2 and never had noticed my head hitting the top in my 24. Maybe that one inch makes a difference?
Yup.

For those of you who have driven both the sport and Si, did you feel the difference in the suspension tuning ?
I feel ya bud! I shopped and waited for 9 months until I got one not being marked up at all. Got my sonic gray Si in december, $29950 out the door. I must have the patience of Job lol.

Subarus are trash.

im sad they dont offer the manual with sedan for regular civic
Just getting my new Si next week, waiting for it to come in. But I’m from PA and I got lucky with getting it at 28k. New! Hopefully it’s worth it!
Wow, that’s a solid deal. You managed to get it at MSRP?
Got my 2024 si for around 32k. What put it over was the stupid mudflap package from the dealer for 2k. Im short so headroom isnt an issue for me. I wanted a hatch in stick but it seems to not exist outside of the type r these days. I tried.
Two thumbs up. Similar decision process here. What about the leaking hatchback problem?
Yea agree 100%. Used car prices still don’t make sense, I’d never buy a used car in todays market
I was ready to buy one at MSRP but they wouldn’t budge on the 3k markup. Ended up with a GTI. Wasn’t willing to go over.
Good move! Don’t let em have it!
Is the headroom close? I’m 6’3” as well but long upper body. Couldn’t fit in si might have to sit in a sport touring
I paid 38 for mine i love it worth every penny
Sir, thank you for the last video and this video. I used your tips and found one a little over 100 miles away and we are still negotiating, but they will not sell at MSRP, so we are still a tad over $31K out the door. Your video showed me the actual color (which is exactly what I want) and explained the difference in MPI as opposed to DI. I too want the HPD package, but not available, just like yours. Wish me luck!
I have a brand new HPD spoiler in sonic gray I am probably going to sell. If you get the car shoot me a message on Instagram as I am probably going to post it for sale
@@NAUS2Kdid you sell it yet ? I am interested
Nice to hear I’m not the only one, what the hell Honda!!
Im 6'2 and my biggest issues have been headroom.
I have a Honda civic si 2022 and for some reason I had to take it back to the dealer . After 1 year of owning it . The gear stick was getting stuck n rough. Is that common?
I had a 2nd gear grind and steering issues. I traded it in. Honda can't seem to make syncros that last.
It doesn’t help that everyone is buying at dealers that mark them up
Good info, appreciate it. Hey BTW, was the dealer able to troubleshoot the leak on your rear hatch? What was the verdict?
They had the car for a week and did all kinds of tests and couldn’t find any leaks. They ran out of ideas and told me to pick up the car. I’m keeping a close eye on it, but it literally has not rained in a month now here in NY so that’s not helping me troubleshoot. I’ve tried pressure washing all around it and no luck. why is the headroom different? i presumed only the engine and suspension were upgraded. is it the seat construction or the body is extra reinforced for rollover in an si? -great channel. you made a great decision imo
It’s the sunroof , you can’t get an si without a sunroof. The headliner sits two inches lower in the civic with a sunroof
@@NAUS2K thank you for informing me. i completely overlooked that!
You’re already getting charged up to butt. Might as well get a type r new or used for the same price and holds its value a bit better
I can't seem to find a manual civic anywhere. (not counting si or type r)
I have an 11th Gen Si. I'm 6'3" and I have PLENTY of head room. Been on long drives and can't complain about leg space either. Super comfy.
These prices are absolutely insane.
The new Si is listed here at 37k CAD 41k OTD and that's if they don't try to do a mark up.
Felt like a downgrade compared to the 2024 Si, and the GLI was an upgrade.
a dealer was willing to do 1500 under msrp on Si , but im still thinking about it
under? nobody is selling an si at a loss right now, I found a few that arent doing over msrp anymore though
Do you find the Civic Hatch to be a big enough car for a family? You mentioned you have 2 toddlers. How is the overall room on small road trips?
