two questions... is it ok to buy as a first drone? and how close are flight characteristics to the actual inspire as far as entry level comparison? im looking to get into drones and eventually get my drone FAA comercial liscense to use for Utility electric line inspections and wind turbine blade inspections which are two industries I work in. How is this drone for a practice drone to develop skills needed for that? And if not this one, what would you recomend?

What is the difference between the WL Toys Q333-A ....... B ........ C........D........E designations on these drones??? Is it to do with 5.8Gig and WiFi video?? I don't see what the difference is when looking at them on line?? Thanks

WLToys have even gone to the trouble of replicating the colour vignetting problems that some of the DJI cameras have. 😜

For a first quad, this is amazing. The Technology keeps getting better and the price keeps getting lower.
It's an amazing quadcopter! I'd possibly go with something slightly more durable as a first quad and then fly this, but if you are patient and have an open area to fly, this could do as a first :)

great video - well done I think we all realize it is NOT the Inspire and of course would not have all the high tech stuff or all the bells and whistles of the Inspire but for the price a good knock off to "play with"
I had a hard crash with my little drone a cracked the shell into multiple peaces some how. I glued it back together and I flies ok

It does't have altitude hold mode...A little disappointing...
It's not actually a knockoff. This is much smaller than the inspire and isnt being called an inspire. It's just a funky looking cheap toy grade quad that's borrowed a few styling features and thats not so bad. Time will tell if it's any good, most of my toy grade quads havent lasted beyond 1 set of batteries and maybe a couple handfuls of flights but I like the look of this and wouldnt mind one when they get even cheaper.I wouldnt want an Inspire because it's too automated and too expensive.

Attention Saylor fans I am from the future 8/18/18 to be exact,you need to get one of these because i want one now and they are sold out,dji did not lower the price on the inspire a bit so trust me get one of these or you will be like me and not have a transforming skull next year.
Lol, awesome comment :) We searched the web for the best place to buy it because our original place we linked did totally sell out at the good price. Sadly, it's a lot more expensive now. I have watched three reviews of this drone and all three had different results with flying it. Wonder if they are all different releases (firmware) or sketchy build quality.
I paid and ordered one of amazon nearly a year ago and it never arrived!🤬
Id be worried about the life span of all those moving parts, cheaply made to keep profits high, with a low retail price.
Just get a Phantom 3 for the same money, done with the junk.

Nate & Abby, You guys rock.....I watched this video numerous times before deciding to buy the Q333. It works just like you said it would. I even bought extra batteries (don't know why some folks can't find them). My first day flying it was great until it got stuck 70 ft. up in an oak tree. But I was so impressed with it that i ordered another that night (pissed my wife off). Been flying the new one a couple of weeks now and I absolutely love it. Several hard crashes and it's still going strong. I'm writing this mostly for all of the nay-sayers about its quality. Sure, it's a toy....we all know that. About an hour ago I finally got my first one out of the tree after two weeks. It went through wind and rainstorms and finally a 70ft. drop to the ground. The only damage was: the battery popped out and one of the motor covers came loose (snapped right back into place). I knew this bird was done from all of the rain, but I couldn't resist: I popped a spare battery (the kind that apparently don't exist) in it and she came to life. Lights, deformation, camera, everything worked. I gave it a short test flight and it was perfect! The left rear motor started to smoke a bit, so I pulled the battery. I just ordered 4 new motors for a whopping $25. In a couple of weeks, I'll have 2 working birds. All in all, I think this bird is well worth the price, and all parts are readily available if you just look for them. Thanks so much for your excellent videos !!!!!!
Hi I really like your channel and you do really make great videos and review, but one think that I've notice, because my first quad was Wltoys V262 is that even this Inspire copy is with brushed motors instead of brushless motors, I got it it have 5.8 Ghz FPV and more features, I saw that it is VERY stable even without the GPS (of course it will be it is 1.6KG beast) and all the other missing extras and I can say yes it is a great thing, but it is overpriced a bit ... That's my opinion only ... Yes it is most carbon finish and with same features as Inspire for take of and landing, but it is a toy ... Don't get me wrong I already mentioned it, that I already own such brushed motors quad and for the people that are looking into brushed motors sceptical ... You don't even know what power those motors can produce if the control unit is well build (and Wltoys are known of making great control units) also with simple mods you can gain range up to 1.5KM+ (simple cloverleaf antenna only on the remote control and a small hack on the drone's antenna too - even you can put cloverleaf there if you want even more range, also you can make the range of the 5.8Ghz more too)!!! But again, this is a toy !!!
I have the Q303 and it's quite enough to have some fun. It has auto-leveling camera (on 1 axis) and you can set it to your preferred angle. Plus, it has altitude hold function. It would be nice if they went with the same things here too. Still, I can't get why they go with so low quality cameras on those toys...
The only thing I don't like about the real Inspire is the fact that the factory can remotely shut down and lock your, already purchased, Inspire drone if you don't update the factory firmware in a timely fashion, and then unlock after firmware update. I think that you, as the purchaser, should have full and complete control of your purchased drone, once owned and no other person or factory should have remote access to your drone unless YOU approve it .

I've decided to get the Q333 as Gear Best do free postage to the UK where I am but the advert say's 0.3mp camera and I know there are 3 versions A,B and C I'm probably being stupid? It can be some are advertised HD with 5.0mp or 720p with 2.0mp it,s confusing I want one with 720p video the actual video you have done the pictures look great. Thanks for the great video's they have definitely helped me get into drones.

But my big question is, would it be able to fly out even take off if i were to rig it to hold a phone underneath? Prop nut wrong!!! in the first part of the video the prop nut you unscrewed is threaded the wrong way. simply put the prop will come off at some time. be careful.
You have got to watch the new TV show called "APB" I'm in Texas so I don't know if its available in your area. Its on Fox channel 4. It's Awsome.....They feature the Inspire1 in the show and it's awesome. They use it in the show to aid the Police fight crime. It was exciting to watch and I think you'll enjoy it!!!!They have some cool mods on it----You got to see it!!!!!
looks pretty close and always looks easy to fly when your have an experienced pilot 👌
This one is very easy to fly compared to any other similar quad.
10:20 I never had a issue with battery life flight time in cold weather and was just curious as to how did you guys come to that conclusion that cold weather shortens battery life? I do believe the more aggressive you fly, the shorter your flight time in most weather conditions, however I am interested in your conclusion as to your shorter flight times with your drones.
Not going to join in the argument about quality versus the Inspire... My biggest problem would be the lack of altitude hold - flying my X5C consists a lot of walking to where the crash happened and picking it up. Having something like this come down with the landing gear raised, probably not a good idea. As far as the lights are concerned, I have always felt that the red lights should go at the back - just like almost every vehicle on the planet! Why do manufacturers normally put the red at the front for drones?
I had one of these and I had issues with the battery clicking in. I would recommend using a rubber band around the battery so it does not come loose during flight and crash like mine did. Great video non the less keep them coming!

Hopefully this has gotten better since it first came out. Some of the early reviews didn't give it very good marks.

and I would love to have 1 with a decent camera. I do not want to reach crazy speeds. just average.
but I would like to see hd camera on it. good height (steady aswell). and durable ( I tend to break stuff). my budget is not really big, like 60-70 euros. what would be a good option mr drone specialist?

I've had quite a few WLtoys copters, and they are all pretty well sorted (which makes a pleasant change) IF ONLY they had done a mark two version of this with the super gimbal that comes with their Q696 and (at least) altitude hold, it would have been a winner.
Dang!!!! You really had me going but you just killed the game for me. I can't believe any of these this sophisticated with no altitude hold. The first perk everyone wants. Specially all us newbees.
Great review and thanks for the info. I can't believe some of the negative stuff below... esp. the one guy's handle (not going to say it here... don't want to give him the time of day!). One suggestion, though, is try to stabilize the camera that's recording you guys? It's a bit jumpy and distracting, esp. at the beginning. Even so, great info. and I appreciate you taking the time to make the video.

If you watch the video again you'll see the RTH was spot on as it was facing off center (about 1 o'clock position) when you took off the last time before you used the RTH. Don't forget some quads will return in the opposite direction that it's bound in and some in the opposite direction their nose is facing during TO.

I bought the q333a back in October of 2017. I attached a gopro off the back end with a swing arm and flew it once trying to film the sunset. It was about 20 degrees F and about 80' above my house it started to drift out over a busy intersection. I tried to bring it back but it soon spiraled into the biggest tree in my backyard. After impacting this tree about 50 feet up, the only thing that came to the ground was the gopro. (I did recover footage of the crash off the gopro). Well this drone spent the entire winter up in this tree and that not a good place to be as Alaskan winters are brutal and long. It hit - 35F on a few occasions. Last month around the 5th of May a wind storm with 60mph gusts knocked the drone outta the tree so I recovered it and sat in on the heater for a few days. The T bracket on the right side was broken and the smaller of the carbon rods was missing as was the attachment clip where it was seated to. The entire right arm with two motors was free to spin around so essentially the right side motors where upside down. I sent away for these parts, used hotglue, half a split straw and tried to fix it. I've no experience fixing drones and this was my first drone. Yesterday was its first flight and the damn thing flew better then when I first flew it. It's stable and all the LEDs work. Amazing for a toy drone.

That is amazing for a cloned DJI Inspire, better affordable price and it looks like it performs very well compared to the actual big model. I would buy this definitely to save cash. Great video dude on how it flies and all its performance done.

hey guy's just thought you might want to know in case you haven't already found out there is another person on you tube that has added GPS and a beromiter to the Q333 and hes works even better. not sure what I did with his link but it look really cool hovering on its own.
Looks like it ships from China. Have you had an issues? My last order, for something unrelated, took an unreasonable amount of time.
How much does the quad itself weigh (w/battery)? Basically I want to know if it has to be registered.
Shame it doesn't have a barometer though so if it knew it was close to the ground it could lower the landing gear. Although, if even on its lowest setting you don't see the props in the video after the first few times you lift the arms up for the novelty you probably wouldn't bother?
This is my favorite video because it was the first drone I saw on your channel that really caught my eye. I know this wasn’t one of your oldest video but I loved and still do love this drone. I knew that the Dji one of these is like a billion dollars and I was nowhere near that. 8 never even really got this one but I love that transforming thing it did just like the big real one.

if you ever see these modified with GPS and brushless motors and a gimbal well my friend you have something there check out the modified version of the Q333! pretty awesome what you can do with a cheap platform
