TheRcSaylors Great review im looking to get my first drone and this looks like i could fly it. How long do brush motors last. In terms of hours in use?
Interesting that the price went higher for the 1MP than the 2MP and when I applied the 18%off code, the price went higher in order to get the overall price down a little more than the original. All these smoke and mirrors is going to make flying awkward, but still a GPS drone for under $100. Not too bad.
This is my favorite video because this drone is exactly what I am looking for. A low end budget GPS drone with headless mode, as it will be easier for my son to fly with me. He is only 3.5 years old. We enjoy flying our current drone together.
Hey all, I bought 3 of these around Christmas for $60 each and gave 2 away as gifts. I have many toy grade Hubsan drones and many Big brushless drones( Solo, Parrot, DJI and a beautiful Yuneec ) but let me tell ya this is my Favorite flyer and I have 2 friends flying with me now. The fail safe is awesome and it always returns home plus I don't have to worries about crashing my $60 investment even tho I don't think you can. Walmart has the same one in blue for $79.99 If your looking for great video with the 1 pic camera well this isn't it. Thank you RCSaylors for this outstanding suggestion for Christmas gifts. JOHN
great day! my dromida vista arrived today, your videos from 2015 inspired my purchase. still going to fly my X708 because its a great little flyer. loving todays review.
I have both the Hubsan 502s and the 502s. I like them both but the 502"s brushed motors have been a problem. I replaced the motors on my 502s and had a crash. 2 of the motors burned up because I did not kill the motors quickly. Brushless is in my opinion much better. Thanks, Stjuan
I like your channel and your objective reviews. I bought one of these Feilun GPS quads and it is a bad dud. Will arm and disarm with either the tx or phone app but will auto take off to about 10 inches and the height cannot be increased by either the tx or app throttle control, no pitch or roll control either. Cannot be disarmed after auto takeoff either until I pick it up and turn it on it's side. Not your fault, but I hope I can send it back.
Great job guy's, This seems like a good deal. I have been flying my Hubsan 502E allot after I bought it as my first drone because you guys recommended it, I get about 12 - 15 minutes of flight time. It is currently onsale at GearBest for $59.99. The Hubsan is not FPV, like this one is, so at this price point this is a good value, although the battery time is not that impressive. I truly appreciate all that you guys do to promote this sport and all the time you take to show us the latest and greatest RC hardware that is out there. Tell Popeye that I said hello.... God Bless
I remember that one. Yup brushed. I suppose if you get out and fly it every day,the motors may not last but truthfully,Its more the fact guys dont shut their motors off fast enough and it frys the motor . Such is life. Good flying drone.
You are Exactly Right!! I wish those people that do that would fess up to their honest mistake, but many times they point fingers and blame the "cheap" brushed motors.
Being new to the hobby love all of your videos and reviews. However the more of your videos I watch the more drones I want to buy hahaha had to subscribe of course and keep up the good work
We are very happy to have you here, hanging out with us Joseph! We'll do our best to show you the best stuff, so you don't feel the need to buy it all, haha! If you ever have any questions or anything, please reach out to us! We'll do our best to answer!
I know this is an old video, but how did you get the map to show up, I have looked at several other reviewers and no one else has a map that show in any mode? Thanks I enjoy your shows and appreciate your honesty
Headless mode can be handy on video quadcopters too. You can do things like rotating the yaw, looking around, while flying in a straight line. Which would be very difficult to do in normal controller mode without programming in way points. Most Return To Home functions land close to where they took off from. I have a Blade Chroma that RTH location is about 20 foot in front of the controller, which I like because if you walk while you fly you want it to return to where you currently are, not to where you started from. I have only ever tried RTH a few times just to see if it worked. Other than that I'd rather do it manually. I can see the benefit of having it though, if you lose track of where it is or it's orientation you can just hit RTH and it should start coming back. I'd still prefer to abort once I got a good visual on it again and land it manually. Features like that are nice but I don't think it's good to overly rely on them.
I agree Duck, just think how far technology has come to allow something like this. A year ago with this price tag it probably wouldn't even have altitude hold! By the way, we shipped your stuff out :)
My first quadcopter to have altitude hold, gps, rth, etc. set me back about $1400. Now you can get those same features for under $100. All the fancy features we now see in the high dollar quads, like tracking, way points, object avoidance, etc. will be in the $100 quads 2 to 4 years from now. And the high dollar ones by then will have new fancy stuff we haven't seen yet. -- All made possible by technology gotten from UFO's that crashed in the 1940's. It could happen :>
Really like the idea of the GPS for return to home feature on this drone! Did I see somewhere online that this has a bracket for a GoPro type camera? If so, that would be AWESOME!!!!
11/30/17 Just ordered one and it was $73.99 w/2mp camera, $67.99 w/1mp camera.. Great deal, thanks for the tip and the video of it in action!! Now I wait...keep the videos coming. I was going to purchase a Cheerson CX-20 but seen this and well it was a $100 plus cheaper so why not give it a shot. Time to make the move to an intermediate quad.
I bought this drone for my son for Christmas based on this review. We have flown it at least a dozen times since then and it is still doing great so far. Nate forgot to mention the follow me and orbit features also. You really get a lot for the money here. The only negative is that on our last two flights we only got a 4 min flight time. I think the lipo is bad but I intended to upgrade it from the moment I bought it anyway. I found a 2 pack of 1200mah 2S lipo with jst batteries on Amazon that should do great and they are cheap enough. One major negative depending on how you look at it is parts. THERE ARE NONE! I can't find them anywhere. Does anyone know what to do if you need props or a motor in the future? Advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have one of these and had a few problems with it, so thought I'd comment here if this helps anyone. There is a better version of the app out there that works with this unit called LW FPV. It's the same app but has a few things fixed in it and also allows for google maps to work properly. (I have not tested waypoints, do not have an area large enough to do this safely in my area) but follow-me does work. Make sure you are using good strong alkaline batteries in your controller and the voltage reading is satisfactory on your display. Dollar store carbon/zinc batteries will only get a good enough voltage for about 30 mins, so go with Energizers or Duracell's. For controlling the unit, either use the app exclusively, or use the controller exclusively....don't try to control it using both at the same time as it may lose functionality on one or both controllers. Using the app to view the camera is fine but if you are using the controller that came in the box, don't try to control it with the phone and then switch back to the controller or it won't work right. The other thing I've noticed is that the router built in to the quadcopter seems to let anything connect to it...if there are people nearby with cellphones with WiFi turned on they may try to connect, which can also make the unit go haywire mid flight. I've successfully paired two phones to this unit at the same time, and have had video coming through both phones, so just something to be aware of that it doesn't seem to have a limit to how many things are connected to it at once, (no security) and overwhelming the controller in the unit may also cause erratic behavior if it's trying to do too much at once. Finally, the unit I received the controller's antenna was not positioned correctly inside by the manufacturer. I had to disassemble it and re-orient the antenna inside in order to get it to work. If you are having signal issues this is something you may want to check. Mine was tucked underneath the circuit board. Once I pulled it out and moved it away from the board, it worked much better. There is also another app called Drone Spy, where if you only want to use the cameras, and not control it with the phone, this app is a bit easier to use to take photos. Since the controllers in the app don't work with this model you don't run the risk of accidentally pushing something and losing control of the drone. On a final note, the battery charger that comes with the unit is very poor and at some point your battery is going to likely have the issue of one cell being charged more than the other, upgrading to a better charger with an LCD display, will give you a better idea with how your battery is doing. and allow you to fix the uneven cell problem. I've purchased a few larger capacity batteries for this unit and it gives you much longer flight times than the one that comes in the box. (Just check the dimensions and plug when ordering to be sure it's going to fit in the compartment)
Any Recommendations on spare batteries/blades and where to get them? I don't have a hobby shop within 3hrs from me and focus only on off-road RC . My first drone so im pretty excited!
Warning about Gearbest ! First, thanks to TheRCSaylors for all your wonderful videos. You have helped me get into this hobby. The following is not meant to reflect poorly on either of you. Your recommendations on other drones, such as the F36 has been spot on. However, based on the above video I bought the Feilun Drone from Gearbest. Sadly, it was defective. I calibrated it many times but it would not fly. I have many other drones so I know what I'm talking about. After a month sending emails to Gearbest and them asking for more details and even demanding a video of the drone just sitting there, it became clear that they were just hoping I'd go away. Today they finally sent me this, "We are sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties with your item. Please note that due to their intended usage, quadcopters, are exempt from our warranty policy. Beware people, Quadcopters are EXEMPT from their warranty! So your money will be gone if your drone is defective!
I had this same expereince from Gearbest, and got a partial refund. My unit was actually missing parts out of the box as well so I have a feeling they are selling seconds or returns. After a lot of fiddling, and disassembling the controller, I did manage to fix it and it works ok now. See my other response regarding the software and a few other things.
Another good video. I just wanted to add a “thumbs up” to outweigh some of the negativity in the YT comments. It always amazes me how many people click on that ‘down’ thumb. If you don’t like the video then stop watching it :D
Hi Saylors, Good job as always, I noticed when I followed the link you supplied that the Hubsan 502 SE is for me at least (I'm in the UK so prices may be different) is much cheaper than this drone. £48 vs £69. Just wondered where you guys were with these 2 drones, functions vs price. I have the Hubsan so know its not FPV which is obviously a big miss. Would you say there is a case for going for these older drones over the newer ones ?
Since you already have the Hubsan you aren't missing out on much here, other than the FPV and a little bit of telemetry. If I were you, I'd save my money and apply it to something like this, but with brushless motors ;-)
Hey guys great video again. I just got a new dirt bike, I still havent had a good day to take my drone out yet without being worried about it getting carried away with the wind. Haha gonna try and get out with it a long with the pit bike I got wich is on my channel if you would like to take a look, I have my little girl sitting on it with me while she revs up the bike. Haha also like how you used the Snapshots to show what telemetry was on your screen. 👍
wow! I like it..i have the syma x5sw that I'm practicing with but it don't have altitude hold witch is what I wanted but I've learned how to do that without it..it was hard but I got it. more company's need to add the gps feature to some of the cheaper drones the review on this one was on point and I'm buying it today..now they just have to find a way to use gps in our phones to return our drones home like a universal gps app for drones and have it work for any drone small or big that would be nice!
Cool. Which camera did you switch to. I assume that the new camera is better quality and probably heavier too. How does the drone cope with the new camera/weight? How did you mount the camera? Do tell..
Awesome video . I know with that much wind i would not be able to fly my drones .. Great job Nate an Abby . For the price its not to bad.I just wished i had a iPhone ..
Can you show more about this drone. Showing calibration. I have this drone and can not get it calibrated and have not been able to fly it. Hope you could help.
Your channel is great 👍, really like watching it for daily info in latest to tech. I’ve made a balsa wood plane in your honour that I turned into an rc plane. I’m calling it the rc saylor!! Can’t wait to see the next vid pls can you do more planes and reply if you saw and liked it. Thank you so much 😊
I would Love to see that plane Charlie :) That sounds so awesome!! We have more planes to cover and plan to asap ;) Sorry we haven't done any in a while!!
If you would be so kind could you please let us know what battery brand/company you got your batteries from? I just ordered the Drone and would like to get extra batteries. Thanks
Hubsan H502E or this? The Hubsan is at $63 right now. (Dec 14.) Haven't seen you do any other Feiluns so I don't know about the overall quality. This does have the Follow me feature though where as the Hubsan does not, or does it?
Hi guys another great video I have a question for you do you guys have homeowners insurance or renters insurance the reason I'm asking do you have liability insurance in case one of the drones fails and hit the car or something like that thank you for taking the time to read this
I'm not a brushless snob, but after flying the Hubsans you mentioned extensively, I do have significant doubts about the longevity of brushless motors on GPS quads. Some cannot cope with the demands of the continuous corrections in attitude that are inherent with GPS control. Whether this quad will have the same problems is yet to be determined
A valid point and well made. Might have helped though if I'd actually used the term I meant in my comment "brushed" rather than "brushless" Mea Culpa. I blame advanced age and a lack of functioning braincells :D
I'm not a brushless snob either. I have a nice assortment of 'toy' brushed motor quads. However, I think that putting GPS in a little brushed quad like this is kind of like putting gold earrings on a pig. If you're going to do GPS, the obvious intention is aerial videography / photography. I doubt very seriously that this quad has the advanced firmware that will provide stable, accurate flight according to GPS based flight control. I like my little brushed quads, some even have a crude form of altitude hold (barometric pressure sensors) which function just fine. GPS and brushless go hand in hand. And, I should note here that even in that type of quad, not all are equal when it comes to stability. Your cheaper brushless quads with single and dual GPS just don't have the FCB's, firmware or software that your high end quads do. The low budget quads are still low quality. You get what you pay for. As long as you keep that in mind, this one might be okay as a toy. But, just a toy.
good luck to both of you with gear best, if you have a problem- IT WILL NOT GET SORTED. you will end up with a junk drone and no refund. how do I know- I have two!
You have to use TheRCSaylors code at Gearbest only for purchasing the Quadcopter with nothing else in the cart or else the you won't get the discount. Turnigy 1.5A 25-35C battery works in the FX176 Quad also.
Another great review 👍🏼👍🏼 and you have another spectator there (not Popeye) with you!😁 prolly interested with drones for him or kids or his grandchildren 😁👍🏼
Not 10 acres. Also, I HIGHLY recommend that you only fly within LoS (line of sight) for your safety, the safety of your drone, and everyone else around you. If you lose control of your drone, they get a mind of their own, and it could essentially fly for miles before hurting someone badly. Please, fly responsibly.
Believe we would definitely go with this, especially now that the price has dropped on it. www.banggood.com/Hubsan-X4-H502E-With-720P-HD-Camera-GPS-Altitude-Mode-RC-Quadcopter-RTF-p-1037297.html?p=5003002035849201508W
Can you do a review on the world tech toys venom pro gps streaming drone it's one I've been looking at and am very interested in! Its very reasonably priced around $80
Is this the 1mp cam.or 2mp cam? Just grabbed a 2mp versiom for my 10 year old daughter..said its HD 720...probably jellowy as hell but...for the orice smeh
Ours worked just fine out of the box. Did you order from our provided link? If not, you may have ended up with something slightly different. If so, make sure you get the correct app!
Thanks for the video. I think the whole family would love playing with this drone.

Can I have the test drone ..
Thanks.

I love this video because I learned that even with my modest budget I could afford a GPS quadcopter with cool features.
great day! my dromida vista arrived today, your videos from 2015 inspired my purchase. still going to fly my X708 because its a great little flyer. loving todays review.
That is awesome Paul!! I'm sure you'll have so much fun with the Vista :-) Have a great day!

I love this video because it blows my mind that a GPS can be so cheap and it looks great.
I may get this for my birthday :) Thanks So much guys I was not able to find such a cheap follow me drone before, this one looks perfect
I like your channel and your objective reviews. I bought one of these Feilun GPS quads and it is a bad dud. Glad to hear you are enjoying your Hubsan Russell! That really is a home run of a drone too :) Popeye will get a treat tonight in your name!
all of that rocking in the video reminds me of my time at sea when I was in the Navy.
Nice demo as usual. It also has waypoints, follow me, and points of interest features. Like you say a lot of stuff for the price.
I bought the 8807 HD from last month, and now may have to get this one! Thanks for the review, and helping me get my first drone!
Absolutely Ryan :) Glad to hear you are jumping into this part of the hobby. Happy Flying! Keep us updated on your flight progress :)
TheRcSaylors
I will! And thank for responding! I love seeing channels who stay in touch with their fan base

At the 4:07 mark in your video, you show a map. Were you able to make this map work, for Waypoint and Circle modes?
Definitely can't beat the price at least for now. When I checked there were 71 left. Excellent video Nate & Abby!!
I'm sure those will sell very quickly :-)
Being new to the hobby love all of your videos and reviews. However the more of your videos I watch the more drones I want to buy hahaha had to subscribe of course and keep up the good work

Nice little quad for the price. Thanks for sharing guys! 😊
Absolutely :) Thanks for tuning in!
I know what I'm buying myself for Christmas cool drone guys 👍
You just can't beat that price for GPS :)
The rate pf progression of reasonably priced drone technology is astounding.
Just blows our minds away :)
You produce some great videos. How about asking your viewers about there real world experiences with the units they are sold?
Hi Saylors,
Good job as always, I noticed when I followed the link you supplied that the Hubsan 502 SE is for me at least (I'm in the UK so prices may be different) is much cheaper than this drone.
Looked realy awesome as it come down realy cool
This is my favorite video because this drone is awesome and cheap!
Favorite video, because I bought this drone for my grandson after seeing this
Well the 11.11 Sale got me, I’ve got this one coming to the house.
wow! I like it..i have the syma x5sw that I'm practicing with but it don't have altitude hold witch is what I wanted but I've learned how to do that without it..it was hard but I got it. more company's need to add the gps feature to some of the cheaper drones the review on this one was on point and I'm buying it today..now they just have to find a way to use gps in our phones to return our drones home like a universal gps app for drones and have it work for any drone small or big that would be nice!
incredible for the price
Do you know if the vr feature normally supports the Google Cardboard QR code profiles?
This has been my favorite video... finally trying out a GPS quad to carry a camera.. (i upgraded the camera)
Cool. Which camera did you switch to. I assume that the new camera is better quality and probably heavier too. How does the drone cope with the new camera/weight? How did you mount the camera? Do tell..
do you have to register this?
Awesome video . I know with that much wind i would not be able to fly my drones .. Great job Nate an Abby . For the price its not to bad.I just wished i had a iPhone ..
Ah you don't need an IPhone to fly this :/ Thank you though Wray!!
ya i know but if you want to save a video with out a phone no saved video :(
Can you show more about this drone. Showing calibration. I have this drone and can not get it calibrated and have not been able to fly it. Hope you could help.
which one do you like more? this one or H502E ?
Depends if you want the wifi FPV or not.
I just recieved this drone. It seems to work well. I bought some 1200 mah batteries for a longer flight time and they fit with room to spare.
If you would be so kind could you please let us know what battery brand/company you got your batteries from? I just ordered the Drone and would like to get extra batteries. Thanks
TexasBulldog74 YZ803063 google this number. The ones I got were 3 for 23.00. Gearbest. No name that I can find.
That app is exactly the same as the gw198.. i sure it has orbit & follow me.. nice 1 guys
Hubsan H502E or this? The Hubsan is at $63 right now. (Dec 14.) Haven't seen you do any other Feiluns so I don't know about the overall quality. This does have the Follow me feature though where as the Hubsan does not, or does it?
the mjx bugs 2 is a lot better tbh, tho its more money
Good review. Do you think that it can carry an action camera like a Gopro?
Thanks :) Honestly I do not think it could as it may work the motors too hard :/
How high does it reach?
These drones are getting cheaper :D great value for money!
It really is amazing :)
I had a similar drone, and I lost connection for 10 secconds and the wind took me into a tree.
Hi guys another great video I have a question for you do you guys have homeowners insurance or renters insurance the reason I'm asking do you have liability insurance in case one of the drones fails and hit the car or something like that thank you for taking the time to read this
You need AMA insurance for anything you are flying.
Where can you buy spare blades for this drone.Hard to find? Thanks Fab
Hi friend, I did not see the battery charger in the product packaging, my question is the following how do you charge this battery?
Cool camra on it awesome
I realy like the look of this GPS drone guys looks realy awesome realy cool
Hey guys going to purchase the Hubsan H502E or the FEILUN FX176C1 GPS Brushed RC Drone - RTF - 1MP CAMERA RED 22. Which is better?
Great drone , Has gps . But I still Love A clear camera Drone. Well good job guys😊
Very impressive for such a cheap quad
Do you like the XK X300 better than the Feilun fx 176c2?.
Another fellow Kentuckian here....Question...Do you have to stay in line of sight when flying these drones or any drone for that matter?..
You should always have LoS over any craft you are flying, planes, drones, anything :) There is never an exception to this.
Grabbed a FX176C2 for 65$ 😉😆. Thanks for this review...
Love watching ur video's guys
Did you ever test a S900 Sky Drone?
Can you please do a video on the kaiser baas delta drone?
I'm not a brushless snob, but after flying the Hubsans you mentioned extensively, I do have significant doubts about the longevity of brushless motors on GPS quads. Some cannot cope with the demands of the continuous corrections in attitude that are inherent with GPS control.
Whether this quad will have the same problems is yet to be determined
really?, ever hear of race drones?, DRL type stuff. Talk about motor adjustment and control. Jeff
A valid point and well made. Might have helped though if I'd actually used the term I meant in my comment
"brushed" rather than "brushless"
Mea Culpa.
I love this vedio. I am waiting for my FX176C1 to arrive from GearBest.
Me too! : )
good luck to both of you with gear best, if you have a problem- IT WILL NOT GET SORTED. you will end up with a junk drone and no refund. how do I know- I have two!
Thanks for the great reviews. Stjuan
Wow realy awesome
Also the 501s has a much better flight time. Also has a much higher price tag.
You have to use TheRCSaylors code at Gearbest only for purchasing the Quadcopter with nothing else in the cart or else the you won't get the discount. Turnigy 1.5A 25-35C battery works in the FX176 Quad also.
hey can you with the map draw a path for the drone to follow? if not what drone could do that? thanks
Bought one a few weeks ago and it crashed. Now, one of the motor spindles is bent. Do you know where one can get motors for this bird?
Can a action camera be mounted in it?
Another great review 👍🏼👍🏼 and you have another spectator there (not Popeye) with you!😁 prolly interested with drones for him or kids or his grandchildren 😁👍🏼
Very Nice!
Just blows our minds away for the price :)
Like a realy cool red colour realy nice
Greetings TheRcSaylors, which they prefer .... Hubsan H502E or Feilun FX176C1, Greetings from Chile ... JuanLC ...
Ben hooben Thanks Ben hooben, greetings from Chile... JuanLC...
Did you guys notice the guy watching you flying the drone in the background lol 😂
Very cool.
Awesome flying and drone:)
Thank you very much!
TheRcSaylors you’re welcome 😇
What kind of range could you expect from one of these? I would be looking to cover about 10 acres
Hi guys I was wondering do you like this drone better than the Hubsan x4 h502e.Thanks.
Believe we would definitely go with this, especially now that the price has dropped on it. www.banggood.com/Hubsan-X4-H502E-With-720P-HD-Camera-GPS-Altitude-Mode-RC-Quadcopter-RTF-p-1037297.html?p=5003002035849201508W
Can you do a review on the world tech toys venom pro gps streaming drone it's one I've been looking at and am very interested in! Its very reasonably priced around $80
bangnhard It is the exact same drone, just rebranded and color changes. Currently 88 dollars at Walmart.

NEAT-O!
Wow very good drone ..
Yeah this is pretty amazing for that price point :)

what the battery life per flight
Hi RcSaylors I got $400 to spend on a drone. What do you recommend?
ps I am a beginner...
Greetings from the Netherlands!
7:75 who new Santa liked drones? lol
Price has gone up, good call.
This happens a lot when we share a pretty good product on our channel. Sorry about that RC Dad!
Cool controller
How did you get the map to work? For most people, the app is region locked to China and doesn't work anywhere else in the world.
Ours worked just fine out of the box. Did you order from our provided link? If not, you may have ended up with something slightly different. If so, make sure you get the correct app!
Well, are you using Android or iOS?
Hi, I've watched lots of reviews about this drone and they have problems getting Google maps up on the app.
Headless mode is like Home Lock or Grid Lock on the Phantom. 🤔😀
It is a nice drone.
