Look at what we had back then and what they replaced it with....
Simple Minds are like comfort food. Never lets me down. Always delicious, even 30 years later.
Oh to be near you in the first morning light
I'd be with you, I dream about you
If I could leave here, I would leave here tonight
I'd be with you, I'd stay with you tonight
Tonight
Just the most beautiful lines…
I love playing this while jet skiing around Vespucci Beach at sunset. Mind blown.
Proud to be born in 80's, Best song ever!
Absolute class, Robin's voice is magical. Simple Minds at there best.
...their...
30 years old, but as fresh as just-plucked daisy. Immense pop-rock song.
Still listening in 2024 80's had the best music back then thanks for the memories simple minds 👍 😎
Kudos on the sheer effort made in this video, absolutely genius
this song and video is totally majestic...it also still holds up after these years. 🙂😎💯
A lot of people tend to diss the later Simple Minds stuff but I honestly think it's just as great as their earlier stuff. If not in some ways better. Tracks like this really make Simple Minds songs sound so timeless. Robin Clark was probably the best thing to happen to this band.
totally agreed she added a lot but was gone very quick
@@hardsam68 She came out of a crew of singers and musicians who grew up in New York, and each made their marks in differing ways; Luther Vandross, Ms. Clark, and guitarist Carlos Alomar all sang and played with David Bowie in his "Young Americans" phase...
It's différent but they are still creating great music
can you suggest some more songs from them? thanks

Except for the Seventies.
Whenever I'm at the drug store or grocery store and this song is played, people look at me with amazement when I stop in the aisle and sing along. I always tell them: "Sorry...you missed it..this band changed the way I listened to music when I was growing up!"
It's fun to sing and dance! My daughter just shakes her head and separates from me, lol.
Haha that is great! Sing at the top of your voice.
