I am so glad you are not talking in your videos about those lately hyped niche perfumes that all the youtubes are getting paid big bucks to promote. Enjoying so much your fragrance choices and content!
I appreciate your heads up videos on fragrances that might be discontinued or very difficult to find. I bought some more Cristalle EDT from the beauty boutique when I saw that it was not available online. I have extras of all the No. 19 range. Those “ash tray” chypres are my favorites. ✌🏻
I love your channel Dacob! I’ve learned more watching a few of your videos than the past couple years watching other more popular influencers. Keep it up❤
I own 3 backups of Tiffany - the "original" formulation launched in 1987. The perfumer was Francois Demachy and is a gorgeous masterpiece: classy, lux, and floral - made for the NYC perfumer. The bottle was created in the art-deco shape of the NYC building. To me the perfume triggers thoughts of beautiful diamonds, lying on top of your bed, with roses strewn on the bed as well: red, pink, yellow, and white roses for you to lay on as well - and smell the fragrance while you take a nap - your pillows are covered in brand new $100 dollar bills to rest your head on.
yes the original is better than the coty version. the coty version is not bad either. now that perfume has been discontinued completely, any version of that perfume will cost you an arm and a leg to get it.
Oppoponax lady here.. thank you so much Dacob, much credit to you and bless you helping us with Poison EDT with 30 Haute and lid/nozzle.. you are an angel ❤️

It’s so nice to find your channel to help me revisit some of my original purchases from many years ago. Since the past 4 years being introduced to niche fragrances, there’s just something I miss about the powerhouse frags that were produced before ifra sabotaged a lot of my favourite ones. I’m starting to realise it’s the classics I miss rather than falling down a rabbit hole of buying funky smelling niche frags that are not easy to understand. Boudoir, poison, Giorgio, l,arte de Gucci, Montana parfum de peau, d&g pour femme. The quality surpassed a lot of the mere shadows of today.
Yes that is exactly it! Its about the ones we already knew but have forgotten. Its also about our yearning for time travel… I have a video about that topic here: ruclips.net/video/xlCkONCkip4/видео.html
😊so happy, just bagged myself the first formulation of poison, you wouldn’t believe how late I’ve stayed up refreshing eBay to get the address starting with 30 😂 £50 so a very happy bunny
I blame you, Dacob for my empty wallet!!!! The chanel cristalle- holy moly- Amazing!!! I am a smoker and somehow it makes the experience of smoking cigarettes (yea yea i know it is terrible for me) just enhances the experience. I totally GET IT!! The cristalle is definitely an ash tray scent but I appreciate it and I can feel coco’s last years based on your book reviews (top 5) that I am going through! Patron subscriber and you are seriously the best- thank you so much for such informative perfume dissections/dissertation/ reviews- the ABSOLUTE best!!!

Another wonderful video! As always, I love that not only do you talk about what fragrances you personally think fit the category you describe, but you also talk through the process and reasoning behind picking them, making us think about what fragrances that we've tried would fit the profile each time. My only backup currently is Ralph Lauren Safari for her (and the 90s version is def superior to the current ones I have but I hope that my backups will maybe 'mature' a bit with time)
Wonderful video! Your choices are outstanding. If I had to give up all fragrances except one, which one would I keep: Chanel No. 22 (I have the edp). Question for you Dacob: what are your two or three favorite Dior Privee fragrances? Which ones, to you, are the best?
I have loads of Guerlain Mitsouko in all iterations! Also, L’Heure Bleue, vintage Cristalle edt, Vintage Coco edp,, edt & Parfum, Chanel No.19 in edt, edp, Parfum, Coromandel & Le Lion. Haven’t been able to find any (affordable) bottles of Boudoir. It sounds divine.
I'm still sad that Alchimie by Rochas was discontinued 😢 I only discovered it right before thar happened it, and completely fell in love. Any tips on finding long discontinued perfumes on secondary market? Great topic!
I'm definitely NOT a perfume geek or fraghead but I so love N.22...its the only fragrance that I've spent more than $60.00 on. Ever. Whenever you make a video about this fragrance I get nervous that too many people will discover how beautiful it is and deplete the available supply 😥
@@essence-tiallydacob9611 . Hi Dacob. I have 200ml EDT bottle of Sycamore. Bottle is engraved with number 0101 at the back and box has 101.635 printed on the base of the box in the bottom left corner. Do you know what year it was produced? Any info would be appreciated 😊 I am in love .😍
SO HAPPY just arrived today my Poison edt bottle IT IS a big topper and a 30 in the address!! I had some bad buys lately, 2 fake Auras anda a fake Idylle (I had to return them) and I finally got a great buy! Thank you so much for this video, because of you valuable tips I know I got a lovely bottle! Smells divine I must say
the best poison version is the edt version when it first came out in 1985 through 1988 which labels 76% vol. instead of 84.5% vol. on the back of the bottle. 76% vol. means higher concentration of perfume oil than 84.5% vol. alcohol content in the 70% range is normally the conentration for parfum/extrait. as far as opium goes the current opium that came in the new bottle doesn't smell like opium of the 70's and 80's. i would definitely hunt down opium that were made up until 2007 before l'oreal takes over.
You are so right has to be the same batch, I am i. Love with Overture woman and Nüwa the second formula, Woman C the first formula, I new to get a few of those.
Boudoir is still available in many places here in Indonesia, because it seems it didnt sell well here. I found it is also harder to wear here in hot humid tropical climate, too thick it is, hence it is smells so good.
Loved this🧡❤️. Oddly I have just started buying extra bottles of my new found loves. I will look into 22 as you have me intrigued. I will focus on the batch numbers thanks to you. I adore my Coco Noir and when I heard you say it reformulated in 2012.. I found and purchased a 35 ml bottle. Oh my.. the depth and longevity is beautiful. 🖤 .I purchased Le Labo’s Labdanum and on my skin I get a combo of Coco Noir and Shalimar … Loooove . I have been seeking and buying older Shalimar , new variations and have honestly become a tad obsessed. 😬But, am ok with that . I’m super glad I found your channel, love your passion, class and knowledge . 🧡❤️Stani

Yes! THAT is the version of Poison EDT. I have that one too. Alas, I missed the boat on getting an affordable bottle of Boudoir. I slept on it until it was too late. ☹ And that Eden Factice!!!! 🤓
Poison edt OG is where its at honestly! I have gone through my esprit de parfum, parfum, eau de cologne, eau de cologne light phases but the OG formula edt is the core for this perfume. In fact, not for nothing it is coincidentally the only concentration they still sell today albeit watered down to a joke… 💖 Boudoir is a masterpiece and if you can get your hands on a bottle, I would highly recommend it, even if just for historic purposes. 🎇
Chanel Antaeus is my backup worthy fragrance, especially after Cristalle and No 19 got discontinued. I’ll need to buy another bottle! I’ve got 3 bottles so far (2 empty) so I’ll need to grab at least 2 more soon in case it gets axed too 😭 I bought 2 bottles of London by Tom Ford as I got a good deal and it’s been discontinued since 2018. I love that fragrance too but it’s not a daily wear at all!
Is it the Immortelle that smells like curry on some skin? I have a beautiful pure oil of this and can imagine it giving curry if the chemistry is awkward

They were made with the materials that were available. They might have been both made with the same harvests or with new harvests. That too makes the smell slightly different.
@@essence-tiallydacob9611 that’s so interesting, I’ve never really thought about it in depth that even different harvests would result in very slight differences. Thanks so much Dacob for all the knowledge you share :)
For me, Cristalle is still the youngest of the Chanel fragrances... even younger than Coco Mademoiselle. Great for teenagers, men and women, who are starting out with Chanel.
