I could listen to you discuss perfumes all day long, Dacob! Thanks for a great video. I feel quietly luxurious when I’m wearing Paris Venice. It’s so soft and understated, and so pretty. Now that the weather is warmer, I’ve been loving spraying on my husband’s Terre d’Hermes, particularly right after a shower. It feels fresh and really lux to me for whatever reason.

Jersey is definitely my quiet luxury fragrance. I also like spraying a cashmere sweater or scarf with Coco Noir before packing it in a suitcase or putting it away in a drawer and wearing the delicious dry down as quiet luxury. (A pre reformulation of course. I keep hoping they will bring back that beautiful dry down in the future.)

I love this style of videos because not only are the selections wonderful, but it also gives us ideas as to what to look for in other fragrances from our own collections! Dacob, have you ever owned any of the Guerlain Colognes? I’m quite curious what you think of them considering today’s focus
Glad you like them Elena 🥰🙏🏻 I do own a few Guerlain colognes. They all have a very classic smell to them which makes them other timely in a way that can be perceived as too show off-y if one were to go for quiet luxury. Some of them are really beautiful but they all come across to my nose as perfumes that really scream heritage and a bit too much ego of the creators are in them. This is just my opinion of course and not a general truth. Its just the vibe they give me. So I love wearing them for other reasons but I do not wear them if I am in the mood for quiet luxury. 💖
Chanel Jersey EDT is oddly far from quiet here in hot humid Indonesia. Projects beautifully at arm’s length and has good 6-8 hours longevity. My quiet luxuries are: Hermessence Cuir d’Ange, Diptyque Philosykos, Malle’s Lys Mediterranee, Boclet’s Tobacco, Shalimar Parfum Initial, and Hermes Rhubarbe Ecarlate.

I like Guerlain's L'Initial and their Iris Torréfié. If I need a quiet vanilla I go to Lalique's Le Parfum.

As if they have no honest opinion and they want people to become uniforms with the same olfactive signature. I, too, find the quintessential eau de cologne scents elegant. It's more of a European vibe ... often overlooked by American perfume lovers. 4711 actually make Refreshing Tissues; they come in a box of 10, I believe. Lovely way of applying fragrance ... wish many other brands offered this option. // Very Nice List. I adore Chanel fragrance.

I have a big 800 ml. bottle 4711 eau de cologne. I always pour some cologne in my humidfier. You can't have a better roomspray, but I also love to wear it especially in summer. The les exclusifs line from Chanel is amazing. I have beige, jersey, gardenia and sycomore. Love these perfumes very much.🌹🥀🌺

I absolutely love and adore 4711! I have several bottles of it, plus shower gel, body spray & the wipes. The Chanel EDC sounds lovely too. Sounds like 4711. My other favourites I love and own are ADP Colonia, Dior L'eau Sauvage, Diorella and Cristalle EDT of course. Also Guerlain's Vetiver. I feel great wearing these! They are so uplifting.

Am wondering if I should get the EDP or Parfum, personally leaning towards the Parfum. Dumb question, Parfum doesn't come with an atomizer spray, how do you apply it?

I can definitely see Philtre de Parfum as the quiet luxury of the OG. I own both, but honestly for me, I still reach for the OG over the Philtre flanker. I guess I love the incense and animalic-ness of the original. I feel that without those notes (which Philtre de Parfum lacks) Philtre has nothing to balance out its vanilla sweetness.
My choice for quiet luxury moderate priced option is Oscar de la Renta Esprit D' Oscar eau de parfum

Love these. Is Chanel Gardenia or Le Labo No. 33 (rose) quiet luxury? I feel like they fade down and hug the skin or clothing when they settle.
Great question. Gardenia is a bit too acidy for me in the opening for it to be quiet luxury. I adore it and wear it a lot but it did not make it into my quiet luxury list.
I have used 4711 for decades. I love it and buy at least five 800ml bottles at a time. It is very expensive in Germany and very inexpensive in the USA. I have small spray bottles too. But I was commenting to a friend (we are both on our late 70s and our grandmothers used 4711) that it left no fragrance residue on anything , which was not the case a long time ago. She suggested that it was more diluted now than in the past, which seems like a possibility to me. In German it is pronounced as forty-seven-eleven (sieben und vierzig elf) and it is how I have always pronounced it.
My quiet luxury is Bois Des Iles, I have it in the EDP and the extrait. Just lovely. I have 6 of the Les Exclusifs and am thinking of getting amother, but can't decide which one!!
Les exclusifs are just so beautiful. All of them really. Some more and some less but they are all elevated quality.
I like Chanel perfumes one of my fave is Chanel 19 and poudree 😊 also I love Chanel gardenia 😊

Beautiful perfume
My quiet luxury perfumes are a bit atypical… Guerlain Elixir Charnel Gourmand Coquin and Guerlain Tonka Imperiale. After some time they do hang closer to the skin. Both are delicious and so cozy. Another one is Atelier Vanille Incensee. It has such a beautiful, mature, and soft aromatic mixture of vanilla and woods. Ugh… to die for!

I have been looking at Jersey for a long time and it’s on my list. Chanel is probably my favorite perfume house. I always go back to them.
By the way, I bought a sample of Carnal Flower that you discussed in your Spring video and it just came today. OMG! Yes! It’s divine. I’m so happy you brought this one up.
Also, I bought samples of MFK BR 560 and I don’t understand what the big deal is about it? It’s not horrible but it’s not great. I feel it’s overpriced and average. Why is it so expensive?

I am not impressed; it reminds me of Esteé Lauder, Pleasures from back in the ‘80s.

I agree with all your choices from the Les Exclusifs offering. Sycomore parfum could also have been there... as La Pausa eau de toilette or parfum. And, DEFINITELY their eau de cologne.
Thank you 🙏🏻 Sycomore is way too strong to be on this list and it has also become way too recognizable in recent years, climbing to the top of the Les Exclsifs best seller list. While I adore Sycomore, I can also see how it is no longer quiet luxury as the other perfumes are on my list. You could argue that SYCOMORE parfum is quiet luxury when worn at home for one’s own self. Then it works as quiet luxury for me too. As for La Pausa, I think 28 La Pausa is more refined than La Pausa but since 28 La Pausa has been discontinued, I did not want to add it to this list because it is not an easy perfume to find these days. I love La Pausa too but a selection needed to be made. If I added La Pausa to the list, another perfume would have needed to be taken off the list. It is a top 10 list after all. Which one should have been taken off the list to make space for La Pausa?

Hello from the Philippines! Thoroughly enjoyed this video so thank you! Here almost everybody tend to apply perfume for function (to get compliments, be noticed, ward off outside odors, etc) rather than for sheer personal enjoyment. In a community where most people operate in this mindset, posting about quiet fragrances is almost funny if not mocked. Its not discouraging me, more like its a challenge to be different, be true to myself and go for the perfume style that truly reflects my personality. My current "quiet luxury" (apart from Bois des Iles, Cabriole and Chanel EdC) are Creed Sublime Vanille, Histoires de Parfum 1725, Celine La Peau Nue and Trudon Bruma. 😊

I wish I was but alas no. I am not a payroll from CC and the reason I share a lot of my Chanel perfumes is because they are among the best out there and I love them very much. I do however have a lot of niche perfumes on my channel too. One just needs to want to look for them. They are there and in healthy abundance.
@@essence-tiallydacob9611 I agree Dacob. I take issue with their pricing games, but they are one of the few brands that has maintained their quality. I have a diverse perfume collection and am always trying new ones, but of all my perfumes, I most consistently wear Chanel. The are well done, high quality, and smell good to most people (not experimental or extreme). I enjoy these types of perfumes as well, but they are not wearable in most social settings unless I am hanging out with fellow fragheads.

I’m not going quiet and I’m wearing my ambroxan heavy Baccarat extrait! Not many people wear it here in Australia from my experience so when I hear all the tockkers are wearing it I’m not put off as they will move on and I’ll stay here with this and an array of my fav FK perfumes from a few different houses not just MFK. Bois des iles I adore but don’t find it quiet on me and the sandalwood is gosh so creamy and for me projects quite a lot. No Chanel for me is quiet, beautiful yes but quiet - not on me! Hermes yes indeed and so beautiful. I also think the guerlain colognes fall into that category of beautiful complex and quiet and some have amazing lasting power but I think that varies so much with skin chemistry it’s hard to make those generalisations. Hoping the quiet luxury trend if that’s what it is goes away soon! Want me some big bombastic perfumes again! Thanks that was fun.
I had a small sample of Chanel’s Eau de Cologne. It’s truly a smart, sophisticated white shirt/blouse. Linen!! I wish my husband would wear it, but he doesn’t wear any cologne. I’d probably want to wear his scented shirts like I did in the 1970s when we were teenagers in love - 46 years ago.
I know it’s unisex, but I haven’t felt like it is meant for me. I wonder if it’s because I didn’t have the sample in spray form. Often, I cannot get a good idea without the spray. For example, Jersey EDP smelled synthetic on me. I adore lavender, so I was disappointed. Maybe I needed the spray? So confused.

My latest love is a sample of Guerlain’s Joyeuse Tubereuse. I’m not sure if it’s quiet luxury. I know when I wake in a white cotton gown which has a light mist of JT from the night before, I think I’m in heaven. Haven’t decided on FB or not.
Jersey has the purest smelling lavender I have ever smelled in a perfume. The extrait is the best though.

Ohh perfume has no age it’s how it melds to your personal scent etc and how you carry yourself 💕

I think its because No18 is a brandy based aldehydic fragrance with musk mallow, which makes it very different and quite boozy to most perfumes out there today. Many people are not used to it I think.

Thē scent from the 1920’s all the way into the 1970’s , as an older person, I’m telling you, is nasty old cigarette smell. That is what everyone and everything smelled like. Just call it “20th Century!”
Isn’t it a shame things get discontinued because they are not selling like crazy. We don’t want to all smell the same. I’ve never smelled baccarat rouge 540 because the profile doesn’t interest me. I don’t want to smell like everyone else.

I kindly disagree. All depends which aldehydes, how they are used in a perfume, how the end result smells and how it smells on one’s skin.
“quiet luxury” used to be known as “elegance.” not something we do well or know much of here in the good old us of a (land if labels where we all strive to our-shout - literally and figuratively- one another.)
But in a way I believe elegance depends on the society and culture of a society one lives in. Elegance can be and mean different things according to one’s culture and morals. On the other hand, quiet luxury is connected to money and subdued display of wealth, which is separate from elegance but can intersect with it, depending on the culture it is being analyzed in or from outside of someone’s culture by individuals belonging to another culture than the one they are observing and studying or judging.
