Love the tip saying that we should work with what we have. You could have the most expensive equipment on the market, but it doesn't necessarily make you the best DJ. Thanks Carlos😁
I really loved the connections tip. I agree that making connections is the best way to get gigs! Meeting people at clubs in person and attending there gigs and becoming close to them really helps you gain a reputation. Also taking advantage of free gigs! Thank you for those tips!
im 11 years old I've been djing for about a year and i just want to say that your videos have inspired me lots! i practise everyday and have been making progress thanks so much for all your help in creating my future dj courier
My favourite tip was "work with what you have". I've been making mixes myself and gained credit for it, I've gained some popularity and it seems that it's likely to continue. Thanks for the tips btw.. keep it up!
Love the «join dj groups» because I think Networking is essential for getting to a place. You start knowing people who loves what you love and you can help each other :-).
My fave tip is Work with what you have. I don't opt for expensive gears/studios I started producing music and practice djing inside bedroom with low spec laptop. Motivation is what gets me started and strong determination is what keeps me going.
Make friends also known as connection. Definitely one of the most important tips if you wanna walk through the priority lane like how you would in airports.
My favourite tip was the one about DJ packs because RUclips suggestions can only get you so far, a playlist already prepared by another DJ would save lots of time
I actually like the first tip due to how it relates to me. I started off DJing with a crappy laptop and a very cheap controller. I still have a lot to learn, but by watching your awesome videos, it makes things much easier. I look forward to when I first perform because of you....... Keep up the good work.
4 months ago I started. I got it all. I sent apps for clubs and even got on test gig in one of popular clubs in town. They told me that they are interested and will call me when then need dj.... soo,im waiting :D Im still practicing 10 h/day 😂 Most my friends and djs I was talking to said to wait cuz Im not ready yet lol I said I am and I went there! 😁Was so nervous and I could do better!
Tip #5: Making friends I think is the most helpful for me currently... I never thought of being an attendant/fan before being a dj... Very good advice!
My favorite tips is networking. Get to know the promoters, staff and djs at your local clubs. Offer to help, free of charge of course. Do promotions, hype events, bring friends out with you and eventually you'll get your chance to shine!!
I agree with providing mixes to multiple sources. I place my music on mixcloud, soundcloud, Hearthis, plus; I drive uber and stream mixes in my car and provide the mixes to the passengers.
Best thing to have tracklist of your fav dj mix is that u get to know where the real magic happens & use that trick when u step in those magicians shoes.
My favorite tip was the RekordBox Settings You’ve Never Used. And this is because I’ve been wanting to scratch on my ddj 400 and didn’t know how to change cross fader setting and you helped me so much. Now I can scratch on my Ddj 400
I just got back from my 3rd ever gig (but first one with a DDJ-400) playing to people who flew in from Berlin. I am beaming and I pushed the notion of wanting to do it again -wooop, I can!!! :D The experience itself is priceless, I dont mind doing this for free when I can enjoy when people dance to the tunes I'm playing! Small intimate gigs are fun and rewarding, if you can't find one, start one!
I appreciate that you were candid about having the right attitude of hustling as a brand new inexperienced DJ and getting gigs in anyway shape or form possible. Everybody has to start somewhere.
I just love everything. I am just about to start actually. I got inspired when I saw your performance during a world championship. Since then, I've been your subscriber. ❤️❤️❤️
My favorite part is the building relationships, building trust. I can't tell you how many times other "dj's" have asked me to help them get gigs. The way you listed was the EXACT way I got started. No one works with strangers in this business. You need a name and/or built trust to go anywhere
Yep that's right" you have to take that first gig" whatever happens, whether you like it or not, whether the crowd is your type or not u have to take that first chance bcuz it brings you a confidence and the test of ur skills that what u have improve...
This video show everything that an unexperienced Dj like me needs to know. All the tips you refer were 100% accurate and the one that really caught my attention was the one that talks about receiving no money in your first gigs because what you need to gain in the first gigs is experience and star to build your reputation and really inspired me
Wanna win that shirt. My favourite tip was no. 5 because taking that first gig helps get you the connections and allows you to prove yourself to get booked again!
My favorite tip is to use what ever you have. I started off with old equipment and would record music off the radio with cassette tapes and transfer them into CDs. Now I pay for music but we all have to start from somewhere.
My favorite tip is the first one, cuz i keep finding excuses and saying okay when i get this or that I'll be good, and hearing that i just gotta use what i have and just practice was beautiful
My favourite is about free music. I always try to make it legal way. The main reason is not to stealing from our brothers in arms. Second one is the quality. When you're ripping tracks from social media and/or SoundCloud you got to worry about how crappy it sounds on large speaker systems.
my favorite tip is joining the a dj group. that way, you can get a lot of music, and it also onnects with your first point which what to do if you dont have connections. so this way, you will build connections, and your Dj career can get a lot better!
Nice tips...i do a lot of the tips you have said from music to going out in events djing for free and promoting myself doing some mixes and distributing it to my friends... its a tough world out here to have a club gigs or event but as long as i love what i am doing i dont care about the compensation its the joy of seeing people enjoy mt stuff that is whats more important to me... hope you still remember me bro, my sister got the bag allready and its on its way here now in paris thanks a lot and godbless.
Love the tip saying that we should work with what we have and also make some genuine friends. This has affected me a lot well I haven't started djing I am a producer. I have some old equipment that my dad had and worked with what i had which was @the time to me not much but now it is a lot of equipment, the problem was software but i got it sorted it out, I got some record deal offers and opportunities. Friends also help to get o places where you couldn't on your own. Thanks Carlos
Wow, thanks for making this video. All these tips were great! Im getting my DJ Controller soon and this video really helped me set a basic understanding of what I should do when I do get my controller. Thanks bro!
I like the tip no.3 . I always watch their mixes and check out their tracks so that I can use it in my mixes using my new ddj sb3. :D by the way thank you for the tips !!
My favorite tip is the tip number 2 because i've done it for a year like i had free music by downloading some packs and my friends also supporting me too by giving me some of their songs so i can use it for some gigs. And i really love what djing has done for me because it gives me a lot of ideas like remixing some musics, download some acapellas so that i can use it for my remixes and i had a few remixes that i had made and i share it with my friends. That's all dj carlo thank you so much for this tips and i really appreciated it ❤
WORK WITH WHAT YOU HAVE! Definitely the pro tip! Depending your time and motivation other stuff, like music and gigs will come your way! I have pioneer ddj-400 and owning a pioneer t-shirt would make my set complete for the next gig qB-)!!!!
I mostly like the third tip about making people happy, because It's one of the most important things in music. And thanks for the first tip, I've got the idea to make a youtube channel with my mixes of copyright-free music.
Already looking forward to your next vid! I loved the tips you gave to be able to get a gig, especially the 'bring a physical usb' one. Didn't think that would make a difference, will definitely try that!
i like all 6 tips , but tips number 2 and 5 is what i liked the most , coz i thought i was the only dj who gets music from youtube and soundcloud i was surprised a dj like you also started from youtube and soundcloud , and the tip number 5 inspired me coz at my beginning days i did gigs for free but now i dont get free gigs but the TF is not that big , it gives me hope that someday i will get the biggest gig of my career , keep inspiring us bro @DJ Carlo Atendido
I like tip no. 2 beacause im just starting as a dj but no equipments but with music no groups but I usually joined in sound system operators to contribute knowledge on how to mix and how level your self
Thx for all the tips. All the tips are important, but I think that tip 7 is the most important. If you keep practicing, then you will get better. I gave up several times, because I didn't got gigs. But now with your tip, I'm going to practice a lot. Thx for the tips👍
"TAKE THAT GIG NO MATTER WHAT" is my favourite tip, and i believe that the most important thing is really learn how to keep the dancefloor, and secondly the money
Just had my first gig last night and I gotta say it was interesting. I was happy with how well I did mixing-wise but couldn’t read the crowd too well. Given that they were a lot of foreign exchange students new to the US party scene, I wish I could’ve done a better job. Friends were telling me my mixing was great but I now think I need to network more.
The best tip for me is the number 6 because i love to find how one famous dj do the transition between two tracks im stucked in for example or to see what tracks goes together better
Hey Carlo I really share your thought on making real connections with dj friends and friends while going out on a night. I have been trying to start doing this since I am a beginner dj. This kind of videos are dope! Thanks for sharing the knowledge.
My favorite is "Check out Dj sets' tracklist" because it's makes me feel good and gives me idea for my mixes But it doesn't mean I don't like other advices I'll use all single one bro because of you!
Hey Carlo, I have a request. Could you do a video showing how to transition in cool ways between songs with vocals? For example reggeton. I would also like you to do a video explaining how to mix edm genres like progressive house, big room etc (not techno pleas, this is much easyer, it never has vocals or harmony, its just drums). I mean, I can do the normal transitions and some tricks you showed in some videos, but I would like to learn more. In addition, you normally focus your videos in beats wich are not similar to this style. Music that they usually play in Ultra, Tomorrowland and this festivals. Thanks man, keep it up!
Hi Carlo, I followed you for a couple months, and I have to say you are such a big inspiration, you helped me with my technique, I consider you as my teacher for literally EVERYTHING that concerns Djing, keep up the good work✌️
The tip about making different types of mixes is one of my favorites! I think its super important to showcase diversity in your mixes! Thanks for the tips Carlos!
Hi i’m that person who commented about the official exams last time🤣 yes so my I bought the ddj 400 because of your tips and thoughts on that controller and because my parents knew how much i’m into the dj world and how much time i spend watching your videos and learning many tips So thank you so much and keep it up❤️
i really liked your tip about getting music because even i suffered this pain i even like the tip of making friends and this is a great way to get a great gig
Thanks for all the tips!!! There is a DJ that I look up to and saw her recently, if I can get her more than a connection...that would be a dream into reality.
"Take that gig no matter what" helped me the most because I was to afraid to make mistakes
“You gotta do what you gotta do”
Damn right
my man got a sponsor! everyone register for skillshare!
I love your honesty about getting music when starting out. I mean who has never purchased music before even trying to DJ!
I like how u interact with ur fans : likeing ,loving and replying their comments, most djs don't interact with their fans like u....great bro.......
Love the tip saying that we should work with what we have. You could have the most expensive equipment on the market, but it doesn't necessarily make you the best DJ. Thanks Carlos😁
Watching these pushed me to buy my first DJ controller
Me too haha(:
DJ Carlo Atendido it’s goin, slowly but surely😅 still just trying to get into the rhythm
me to
Me too
I really loved the connections tip. I agree that making connections is the best way to get gigs! Meeting people at clubs in person and attending there gigs and becoming close to them really helps you gain a reputation. Also taking advantage of free gigs! Thank you for those tips!
Wow FINALLY someone being REAL and admits that he downloaded music from youTube!! RESPECT!!!
im 11 years old I've been djing for about a year and i just want to say that your videos have inspired me lots! i practise everyday and have been making progress thanks so much for all your help in creating my future dj courier
That is awesome! Continue to rock on!
My favourite tip was "work with what you have". I've been making mixes myself and gained credit for it, I've gained some popularity and it seems that it's likely to continue. Thanks for the tips btw.. keep it up!

My fave tip is Work with what you have. I don't opt for expensive gears/studios I started producing music and practice djing inside bedroom with low spec laptop. Motivation is what gets me started and strong determination is what keeps me going.
Making connections and getting to know the staff at the places you want to work at is definitely the most important
My favorite tip is numer one, it's so inspiring and encouraging! We can't stop practising, we won't stop practising, we won't stop DJing! 🔥🎶
Make friends also known as connection. Definitely one of the most important tips if you wanna walk through the priority lane like how you would in airports.
My favourite tip was the one about DJ packs because RUclips suggestions can only get you so far, a playlist already prepared by another DJ would save lots of time
Tip 1 has to be the best. I’ve played some poor controllers before working my way up and you can always make it sound good if you work hard enough.
Working with what you have is very important- you can constantly learn and master your craft so you are somewhat prepared and that can take you far
I actually like the first tip due to how it relates to me. I started off DJing with a crappy laptop and a very cheap controller. I still have a lot to learn, but by watching your awesome videos, it makes things much easier. I look forward to when I first perform because of you....... Keep up the good work.

Im still practicing 10 h/day 😂
Most my friends and djs I was talking to said to wait cuz Im not ready yet lol I said I am and I went there! 😁Was so nervous and I could do better!
My favourite tip is number #3. The advise I took from it was to consistently make content and put the mixes out there.

Im an old school DJ, I like the fact you mention one important informotion and that is practice practice practice thx
My favorite tip was the RekordBox Settings You’ve Never Used. And this is because I’ve been wanting to scratch on my ddj 400 and didn’t know how to change cross fader setting and you helped me so much. Now I can scratch on my Ddj 400
I love your videos and my Favorite tip is the first tip "work with what you have" and I really like that one

I just love everything. I am just about to start actually. I got inspired when I saw your performance during a world championship. Since then, I've been your subscriber. ❤️❤️❤️
I am glad you acknowledged the different ways to get music.
I liked that you said to give a physical copy of your mixes in the form of a CD, because it shows the DJ actually cares and goes the extra mile.
My favorite part is the building relationships, building trust. I can't tell you how many times other "dj's" have asked me to help them get gigs. The way you listed was the EXACT way I got started. No one works with strangers in this business. You need a name and/or built trust to go anywhere
Been DJing for many many many years. Everything you said works to get things going!
Tip No 2 was the way I followed
Yep that's right" you have to take that first gig" whatever happens, whether you like it or not, whether the crowd is your type or not u
have to take that first chance bcuz it brings you a confidence and the test of ur skills that what u have improve...

It doesn't matter how much theory you know about djing, practice and experience are always better imo, keep up the good work man!
Love that you always advice people to start and work with what they have
Wanna win that shirt.
Nice video
About the tips- I think that tip number 4 is the best cause having a promoter is one of the most important aspect for a Dj
The best tipe yoi gave is for sure the one about free music, essencial in order to pursuit your dream!
My favorite tip is the first one, cuz i keep finding excuses and saying okay when i get this or that I'll be good, and hearing that i just gotta use what i have and just practice was beautiful
My favourite is about free music.

by the way thank you for the tips !!
I love the no 3 tip you have for us, cuz i am in the industry for quite some time but i still do that
Music is the hardest thing for new DJs to learn how to get (legally). Thanks for the tips.
My favorite tip is the tip number 2 because i've done it for a year like i had free music by downloading some packs and my friends also supporting me too by giving me some of their songs so i can use it for some gigs. WOW SUPER MOTIVATION AND YOU ARE SO CLEAR AND NICE IN YOUR HEAD...NOT LIKE SOME OTHERS
Going to events where other DJs you admire plays and study the Dj how he plays, what works how the crowd reacts. Learned a ton from this already!
Great tips. Practicing on mixing is the best tip to take in mind and focus when being a beginner dj.
I mostly like the third tip about making people happy, because It's one of the most important things in music. And thanks for the first tip, I've got the idea to make a youtube channel with my mixes of copyright-free music.
My favorite tip was paying the 10$ for a month of legit dj music. I didn't know that existed til this video and I will 100% be checking it out!!!!
Practice with what you have... :)
Best tip so far dropping it on the one/key mixing
fye video. thank bro. my fav tip is keeping the crowd happy cause that's all that matters in the end
Hey brother, definitely practicing is key as well as taking gigs with zero ego and having fun. Great vid thanks Carlos
Great advise "Building reputation...and trust" a great step to build your career :)
Already looking forward to your next vid! I loved the tips you gave to be able to get a gig, especially the 'bring a physical usb' one. Didn't think that would make a difference, will definitely try that!
Love your videos!! My favorite tip is the one about not being scared to rip music when you don’t have any money yet 💰
the scratch tutorials were the best that and the transitioning tips
Great job Dj Carlo Atendido you have great tips and you are right when you first start take all gigs get that experience.
Always make the crowd happy and make mixes and content!!
i like all 6 tips , but tips number 2 and 5 is what i liked the most , coz i thought i was the only dj who gets music from youtube and soundcloud i was surprised a dj like you also started from youtube and soundcloud , and the tip number 5 inspired me coz at my beginning days i did gigs for free but now i dont get free gigs but the TF is not that big , it gives me hope that someday i will get the biggest gig of my career , keep inspiring us bro @DJ Carlo Atendido

Sooo I would say Tip 3 is really helpful. I think if you hand the mix physicly it is much more personal... But I also fully agree in tip 5
Thx for all the tips. All the tips are important, but I think that tip 7 is the most important. If you keep practicing, then you will get better. I gave up several times, because I didn't got gigs. But now with your tip, I'm going to practice a lot. Thx for the tips👍
my favorite tip po idol is 1 and 4 because i really need gigs but i dont have enough exposure and connections. Thanks for the tip idol
Your tips helps a lot in real life. All the best for your future bro.
"TAKE THAT GIG NO MATTER WHAT" is my favourite tip, and i believe that the most important thing is really learn how to keep the dancefloor, and secondly the money
My favourite tip is working with what you have, I think this would help a lot of people!
DJ Carlo Atendido thanks for the reply! And yes I do DJ, it’s my passion!
Free music tip was by far the best as am always looking for music
Just had my first gig last night and I gotta say it was interesting. I was happy with how well I did mixing-wise but couldn’t read the crowd too well. Given that they were a lot of foreign exchange students new to the US party scene, I wish I could’ve done a better job. Thanks for all the tips!!!

My top favorite tips I love it on how to build up loop for transition. It gives me an idea on how to transition my track into another with creativity!
Another great tutorial. Tip 3 is my favorite.
