Great advice! Additional tip: properly read your agency contract, the length of the contract and don't be scared to question the agency. I've had contracts that last 3 years and if you want to leave within those 3 years, the agency will still take 50% of your booking fee, even though they had nothing to do with getting that booking. A year and a half is a good start for joining an agency imo :)

I remember speaking to someone from Paradigm (Austin, Tx) awhile back via email and I really dislike the old school aspect of Paradigm, that you have to be referred by "word-of-mouth" from someone who has connections with them, in order to be considered to join the Paradigm roster. I was really bummed, since I live in Houston, I rarely play any shows, and I'm mostly my bedroom releasing records. 😑

Then I hear some DJs with mechanical/autogenerate playlist style weekly shows with no vocal input in it whatsoever, they don't even speak on their shows. A celebrity DJ doesn't need a lot of help: he sells himself by his name. Today work the numbers only. Social status at first. I began 26 years ago and I made a lot of things. Then, the spotlight is stopped and no agent wants to invest if you don't have fame

hey luke, your demo drop can only take song's in that are 2000 kilobytes or under, but most of my song's fill way more than that. if there is any way i could send it to you in any other way it would be nice.

If you are signed by an agent you would have already gone through the warm up slot phase of playing to no one in a room before the main dj it’s all part of the process
