I am an entirely new user to iPhone . I ditched my s24u and came to iPhone and I love it! I have always enjoyed taking pictures of buildings . Nature . Sunsets . Ect . But I’m not en expert at all. The camera has been catching my attention and macro on iPhone is actually amazingly insane!! Can you do a full camera tutorial for not just new iPhone ine users but for people interested in learning more about the camera ?
Can you also explain what each lense is ? What it’s for ? What is the 23mm camera ? Or the 13mm ? I’m loving this but I’m so confused like I said I’m brand new to this
Not sure if I’ll have time to make a video about that right now but if it’s any help, on the iPhone 16 Pro the 13mm lens is the ultra wide lens represented by the .5X when you’re in the Camera app. The 24mm lens is the 1X and the 120mm is the 5X.
Great video, and to the point. Maybe you could do a video shooting with night mode and a 30 second exposure. There’s been some issues for many, getting blue lines/marks all over the photos. Shooting in a dark room at 30 seconds creates horrible photos for me. Have had to go to Apple, and now I’m waiting for a replacement.
Great video Luke! But then, why I usually get a better looking photos when I have 2x and the flower icon on? If I try to use 0,5x sometimes I create a shadow since I get way too much close to the object. Thanks in advance!
Sorry I wasn’t trying to say that the .5X is always a better option but 2X is just digitally cropping into the .5X lens (when in macro mode) so if you shoot 48 megapixel .5X photos you have the option to crop in however much you want or the option to have it be a wider field of view. whereas if you shoot 2X then you’re stuck at that and you can’t make it any wider later on. keep in mind this only applies when shooting 48 megapixel photos. if you shoot 12 megapixel photos with the .5X lens and then crop in it will look worse than if you had just set it to 2X. Hope that makes sense.
The flower icon indicates that you are using the ultra wide lens which is the macro lens. so when you are on 1X you know wether your on the actual 24mm camera or the 13mm camera by whether or not the flower icon is there. the flower icon doesn’t need to be there when you’re on the ultra wide lens because you know that you’re on .5X
I want selfie to be clear without blurr and also clearer background landscape, my iphone 16pro max blurs me out and shows bg or it clears me and blurs bg. What setting can focus both?
Of course a dedicated DSLR will take superior pictures, I’m really not sure why anyone would feel the need to make such an obvious statement at this point. For the 99% of people who don’t feel like walking around with a brick attached to their necks at all times, having access to a macro camera on their phone (and a pretty impressive one at that) is a cool thing.
Obviously, an actual camera will always be able to take better pictures than a phone, at least in the near future. This is because of how much larger the sensor is and other factors. But just for a phone camera taking these photos, this is excellent quality and shows that phone cameras have come a long way in just 17 years. These are still good macro photos too; it may not be near microscopic close-up looking, but it’s still a very good detailed close-up shot to be just taken on a phone camera.
I run into other sorts of situations just like this all the time, but the window screen seemed like the easiest way to explain it to people. Maybe you’re at the zoo and you’re taking a picture of a bird inside of a cage, etc..
wow that first shot was mesmerizing.... i will try this, very good demonstration and thanks for pointing out the settings!!
Thanks bro!
straight to the point, no fluff. Subscribed.

Very well explained! You’ve earned a new subscriber. The bugs better watch out tomorrow because, now I know.
Outstanding video, sir. The screen door macro tip is a life changer. 🙂👍🏻
Thank you so much! Super helpful tips that were what I was looking for from my iPhone 16 pro max shots!
Glad it was helpful!
Just bought the 16 pro max and this tips are amazing 🎉 thanks!!!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching
on @3:29, can it be HEIF max instead of RAW max? I mostly used HEIF max to save spaces

Impressive, helpful insights and details no one else seems to be covering. Thank you. [New subscriber]
Glad it was helpful and Welcome aboard!
Thank you. Going from the XS Max camera to this, I find it super confusing. I just needed to whatcha. Few of these videos .

Great video...
Great but with my iPhone 16 Pro there is bug with jpeg max 48mpix and ultrawidelens when you zoom photo in photos app..
What’s the bug
I have that same Microphone its a nice one 😅
I have the iPhone 16 pro and there’s no raw button at the top for me. Do I have to turn it on
Yes, go to the regular phone settings, go to camera and turn it on.
Is it the same on 16 ? The pro is soooo 💸💰
Yes the 16 can shoot macro but the 16 pro is higher resolution
3:13 I feel like this is wrong, using 0.5 makes the flower icon disappear, meaning it's not a macro...

Now try Vivo Ultra or Xiaomi Ultra macro photography
Any real camera with a macro lens will run around and laugh at the quality of a phone. It's just physics.

Yeah, I totally agree. Except my camera and macro lens can’t answer emails
No really??????
Sure if you want to spend a few grand on just a camera

Why would you take a photo through windows screen??? Just go outside)) no sane person would do this 😂
I run into other sorts of situations just like this all the time, but the window screen seemed like the easiest way to explain it to people. Maybe you’re at the zoo and you’re taking a picture of a bird inside of a cage, etc..
I was about to jump in and say this situation happens at the zoo all the time.
