Wow!!! Thank you Mr Stern for bringing the Dixie Chicks out...I wish people would leave them alone..we all have freedom of speech ..I dont care who you are..
Country Music needs the Dixie Chicks. This is an old video, but I'm betting their harmonies are as good as ever. These ladies should be playing on every radio station in the nation and headlining big venues. They are that good! Better than most of the "up and comers" that aren't even country. At least these ladies play their own instruments and play them well. I'd love to see them at the Ryman again or Austin City Limits. Go Chicks!
@@bertforbes1212 No, your timeline is off. This was recorded at Sirius on May 22, 2006, so it's only 13 years. It was uploaded now because they've been opening the video vault a little more each week, sharing musical performances from guests.
The last time we started an illegal war in the Middle East, it was an astonishing act of bravery to watch The Dixie Chicks put themselves out there. They paid an enormous price. Country Western Music owes them an apology. True. American. Heroism. In a glorious 3-part-harmony with a glitter strapped banjo. #NoWarWithIran
2020 fuckin sucks... so I've spent 3 hrs going back and watching 90s and early 2000s Howard stern performances.. I would blood sacrifice all of my exes to go back to the early nineties lol
Great cover. Love the song . Felt bad about the mandolin solo, its was going really well so they focused the camera on frets right before she hits the wrong note st the end. The "damn it" micro expression.
really great group I wish they were still performing. Liberals attack people for personal beliefs. In this case it was back in GW Bush's day. She opened her mouth not long after 9/11. killed their career. I hope they make some new music and perform their Classics. they're a great group.
gmcjetpilot They are still around and still perform occasionally. Natalie was right about Bush anyway. How many Americans are proud of that war? We’re still in Afghanistan for crying out loud.
It was 2 years after 9/11 and she rightly so criticized the Iraq war, it took the dumb fucks on country radio 3 more years to catch on that the war was a terrible idea/excecuted to enrich the bush administration's connections
Am I missing something or are you? They were attacked BECAUSE they spoke out against the war.. they're democrats. "We don't want this war, this violence, and we're ashamed that the President of the United States (George W. Bush) is from Texas,"
This is way better than the original. I used to listen to this when I was little and loved it, then I heard the original and it was super soulless in comparison. Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac are some of the most overrated musicians ever. This and some of their other songs are well written, but like I said, I just don’t here any emotion or soul in Stevie Nicks’ voice and the instrumentation is too simple and basic. Maybe overly perfectionistic? Overall, the vocals and music just feel dead or sleep in my opinion. I know it’s controversial. Or maybe everyone secretly agrees.
Her voice is a one in a million voice.
Natalie won’t take the bait... Natalie = Class
How can you not admire and love the Dixie Chicks~~~~
Raise your hand if you never stopped loving the Dixie Chicks.
✋
Never had a reason to stop loving The Dixie Chicks.
Well done! Whenever you cover a classic you have to nail it! She did!!!
This song mkes me cry everytime. Their rendition is so good!
Dixie Chick's one of THE best covers of Landslide
Three beautiful angel. Love from Indonesia. Dixie Chicks is always in my heart. 😍

Great cover! One of the best performances on the Stern Show everrrrr!
They sound amazing I am clapping right now.

I remember listening to this live years ago. It was one of the best performances in Howard's Studio!
I am curious as to why it was uploaded now. The video is obviously 16 years old.
This just came out.

Love this group and looking forward to a new album this year!
Beautiful!

WHAT A GREAT JOB ON THAT SONG SOUND AMAZING
Natalie's still got it, and her hair looks beautiful that way! They still sound amazing
Country singing has so many shifts of vibrations while keeping the the tune soft is ridiculously hard.
I wish Howard would post full videos of Howard Tv. They will get soo many views.
Class! Awesome band.
Amazing rendition.
Never stopped being a loyal fan of the chicks! ❤️
Been waiting on this upload for years! My favorite DC recording.
This song is even better knowing how big of a super fan she is ; )
“She’s a great great woman.” Period.
They've still got it!
Goosebumps! Wow
Love these ladies!!
Good ole dixie chicks....from when country was good ...90s....early EARLY 2000s
Awesome!
Outstanding.
Beautiful ladies😍💞💋💖😘😘😘😘
Thanks for posting.
Hi Howard, Thanks
The best cover of any song of all time, in my opinion which obviously nobody asked for 😅
It's very nice... You are entitled to your opinion 😉
May I send you a link to the best cover of a song? On here of course

sigh. I love Natalie every bit as much as I love Jimi Hendrix. Such talent, such passion, such presence.
Love this song
i love this version much more than the recording they did...wow this is MUCH better stevie would be proud
I am a guy who sings this at gigs because it is just a great song.
Stern is #1.. He was the first one.. the one standing on his own...
Welcome back ladies....sound great.
Bill Goodman this was recorded 16 years ago 😉
natalie look stunning.
Wow.. I remember this
Still got it!!!!
became enthusiast supporters of the Girls after: "Not Ready To Make Nice."
Great cover. Love the song . Felt bad about the mandolin solo, its was going really well so they focused the camera on frets right before she hits the wrong note st the end. The "damn it" micro expression.
I was wondering what the soundman doing. I would say he was 50% responsible.
The harmony vocals need to be turned up.
Martie playin' a Charango here... there's something you really never see in popular music.
These chicks can really sing.....
This was good
Turn the mics up!
I don't particularly like this song or the Dixie Chicks, but man this rendition is incredible... really enjoyed it.
Damn, Rachel McAdams can sing
awesome
That looks just like Rachel McAdams
🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
❤️💯❤️
Great
Stevie Nicks wrote this song on the slopes of Aspen,
I'm glad Howard manned up and apologized to them for his comments post 9/11.
how is she 44? she looks stunning and so young
Remember this was shot in 2006 so she isn't 44 in this video
Because it was 11 years ago lol
@@-The-Darkside No, 13 years ago. It was recorded on May 22, 2006.
VALIS Machine almost 14 years ago
Curious how old this clip actually is? I listen to complete shows. The Dixie Chicks were not on. I see it now in the title, 13 years ago.
Great overall. That mandolin solo wasn't this day.
T Wickman lol ya she muffed it
She sounds like Stevie Knicks. Wow. Keep on singing Dixie Chicks, fk what Bush head thinks.
Swaggy.
noice
👏
The four chicks at the back are stunning!
😀🤓😍
So I guess employees were also mic stands back then lol
That's the way it always was, even going back to the K-Rock days.
Better than the original!
Call me crazy but this is better than the original
Stevie for me. Just sayin.
Country music is to music like Etch A Sketch is to art.
There's way too much going on for me...
Can't touch Stevie, not even close.
Why in the heck would you try to improve perfection?
I don't think they're trying to improve it...just playing it with respect. I thought it was great!
First
Not by a long shot from the way these comments loaded on the page.

gmcjetpilot you’re blaming liberals for that?
It was 2 years after 9/11 and she rightly so criticized the Iraq war, it took the dumb fucks on country radio 3 more years to catch on that the war was a terrible idea/excecuted to enrich the bush administration's connections
I see what you’re saying, but didn’t conservatives then attack her for her beliefs...which ruined her career.
Am I missing something or are you? They were attacked BECAUSE they spoke out against the war.. they're democrats.
"We don't want this war, this violence, and we're ashamed that the President of the United States (George W. Bush) is from Texas,"
Cancelled by Republicans
