Lel whose teacher made them watch this?
lol
so théy could take a smoke break :P Why bother with getting 600 pingpongballs and numbering them all several times, if you can just wheel in the TV and VCR :P
Yeah
Great to see Johnny Ball on TV, he's like the school teacher one instinctively listens to.
He came into our school the other day lol
I am an American and I love Johnny Ball! Is he fairly well received in the UK?
He's a legend, many kids from the 80's learned so much from him while being entertained. But sadly he disappeared from our TV's by the 90's
Johnny Ball. The staple of my childhood TV learning.
Love that guy.
I would have counted the balls in each direction and multiplied them. But this seems a much more interesting method.

They've put this 'capture and re-capture' stuff in our Edexcel GCSE maths

Saw this ages ago, yet I still remember it. What a great teacher
Jonny Ball wrote 100/17=5.88x100=588 which isn't very mathematical but he's a legend so should we let him off?
I love 💘 johnny ball
life on a plate show was good hope some1 uploads it
Interesting! besides I´ve learned something new today :-)
Did i just see a Land Rover used as taxi :) wooooow :) awesomm
Is there a mathematical name for this estimation because I searched for a theory about this situation, but I could not find anything?
It's literally said in the video. It's called Capture Recapture .
The method in order to work it out for anything is: The first sample divided by repeats then times by second sample.
@@klstay9704 I'm having serious doubt about this guy if he couldn't even listen to the explanation for longer than a minute...
no
