    This is the first time I've ever seen the actual transmission and use of microwave power over any significant distance.

    Exactly how UAP's work.... but with MASERS in the megawatt range.

    Imagine flying a spaceship to the moon using microwaves?

    5:20 into this, Jem is standing next to where the helicopter was. even though he is not in direct line of sight of that 'Death ray' surely you wouldn't even take that risk if it was on...

    That has to be the most ignoble AC/DC capacitive charger in existence which also does a fine job dispelling the notion that motorways could enable capacitive charging on the go without cooking anything that touched it like the 3rd rail on the tube

  • @ThePeoplesGuru

    Imagine trying to get a patent permit for that.
    "Could you repeat that?"
    "Yes, it's a microwave death ray."

    this is extremely dangerous and we needed several special permits, and heres the small child who is helping us :')

    How much energy is lost through the air? what would happen to someone if they stood infront of the beam?

    • @zahariburgess3660
      @zahariburgess3660 3 года назад +1

      about 20% depending, the main problem is concentrating the beam, and is someone stood in front their organs would fry

    This idea came from an old patent from the 1960's. Interesting to see it was explored.

  • @candr

    Back in 87" there was a test useing a real aircraft (unmanned) with a 4.5 meter wingspan was tested jointly by U.S. and Canada. The idea was to place an aircraft at a constant 10 mile height to be used as a relay for communications in a limited area. You might find it under the title of "SHARP" (Stationary High Altitude Relay Platform) seemed to work pretty good.

    1.) That's NOT a plane.
    2.) This is probably the most inefficient and wasteful way to power that small *helecopter*
    No wonder Tesla died penniless and alone.

    • @benbubeck1305
      @benbubeck1305 8 лет назад +2

      but it is right now the only way to accuratly transmit power through the air. And tesla died penniless because he was a humatinarian, he did not belive in being paid for example.

    Bearing in mind that this TOY helicopter barely uses a tenth of the power used by proper MODEL helicopters... Make it power a multicopter though... Then I'd be impressed!

    • @zahariburgess3660
      @zahariburgess3660 3 года назад +2

      if you had a higher frequency like (10 GHz) compared to the 2.4 GHz that it puts out then yea it would be better, keep in mind that the low-frequency waves of the magnetron spread out that's why they have the metal horn antenna also a fraction of the power is getting captured due to the beam spreading out it would take a massive horn to concentrate the radiation that's why high frequency does better like a laser, a laser is a much higher frequency so it is easy to concentrate the problem is safety and cost and either way they did power a bigger helicopter back in the day with one

      but it's wireless electricity. Wifi is also worse than Cable, but you still use it.

    The theory stands though. If you could convert heat into light (electromagnetic waves) efficiently and receive the light back into heat with reasonable efficiency. Then you could beam power into space. That would be cool. But I think if I were in space I would use the sun as a source lol.

  • @tw34k3d
    @tw34k3d 11 лет назад

    something tells me that the output of the battery normally used on that rc chopper is substantially less than the 1000w the microwave is outputting, what will he be doing next, making a nuclear reactor with an output of 1000 megawatts to power a full sized chopper... possible, but pointless... maybe one day when we can make effective microwave-lasers it may be more efficient and therefore useful.

    @The1234cadillac This is incredibly wasteful. A kilowatt went into the air and a few milliwatts were extracted just a few metres away, despite using two really sophisticated antenna arrays. In comparison getting nutrition by inhaling the smell of meat roasting would be quite efficient.
