Hi Sona Jobarteh, you have opened my feelings for Africa through your music, I am emotionally touched by your voice and your performance, Gambia should be proud of you, and so am I from Norway, you make Africa much closer to Norway with your fantastic rhythmic music and voice, cheer on you 👍
Africa music stands unique nd speaks alot to the Africa🌍 irrespective of the country u come from in the continent.. Greetings from a Ghanaian 🇬🇭 in UAE 🇦🇪.
I'm looking up and down the comments here and I'm starting to wonder if I'm the only white American who loves West African music and the virtuosity of West African musicians on the kora and calabash. My musical tastes are fairly eclectic anyway, having grown up with 60s pop, progressive rock, R&B, new wave, etc. But this stuff warms my soul. Sona Jobarteh is indeed a master on the kora, and to top if off she is SMOKIN' hot! The complete package of talent, intelligence, looks, and serenity of being. When my soul needs a boost I put on some Malian kora & calabash and just close my eyes and absorb it like a sponge.
You're not the only white American that loves African "Afro-Pop" music. They used to play a lot of "Afro-Pop" music on PRI/Public radio International if Donald Trump and his GOP horde haven't forced them off the air. I used to listen to it on weekends on on the Internet.
Listening to this enjoyable sounds from Germany. My father lived in Africa for 6 years (most of the time in Namibia) . He taught me to love African culture in all its facets.
African music is in true harmony with the rhythm of the Earth and this talented lady is a true angel, her music soothes and flows so naturally, it brings peace and joy at a cellular level. Viva Africa, viva Sona!!!🙏🙂

She is just a gifted musician and a great singer. And she has great musicians in her band! To us Germans African music might sometimes feel strange but it's so full of passion and love. Listening to that I wished I could be in Africa - seeing funny, happy faces making wonderful music. Back then we came as conquerors and robbers. We missed seeing what Africa really is. I just hope that all those wounds might heal sometime in the future. We are all the same on that lonely planet. - Greetings from Germany.

Sona and her band are ambassadors of this infinitely large human family who, with their music, remind us of who we are, where we are going and why we are here! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
ONE LOVE...truly stunning performance. Seeing artists like this in perfect sync, feeding off each others love of music, life and humanity. Had the privilege of spending three months in Gambia in 1994 as student on placement in Brikama, Dobong and other wonderful places. What a time that was...helped me realise deeply held beliefs that had little currency in the west but make perfect sense in a rural economy. Gambia made me so welcome, such natural people. Picked up a significant drumming habit there and ended up making the same journey that those primal rhythms had made all the way to Cuba. This is amazing. Bless all of you for this music.
