    The end of the verses thing is interesting. Is this because of how the Jews sing the OT?

    • @AlephwithBeth
      @AlephwithBeth  3 года назад +3

      It's an interesting linguistic phenomenon that's written into the vowel pointing of the Masoretic text. It may have to do with the cantillation/singing, or it may have to do with marking major syntactic or prosodic breaks. Scholars are still studying it. If you want to look up more about it, they're usually called "pausal forms."

    Hi Beth!
    I was doing your grammar modules and in 9.3 - Adjectives good and bad, I think you've written 'a good land' instead of 'a bad land' cos the translations don't match 😅
    Thank you! Much love

    Yo sabía que el Sol, הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ, era femenino en hebreo. הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ זוֺרַחַת. ¿Por qué aquí se le asignan formas verbales masculinas הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ יָצָא, הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ בָּא, por ejemplo?ּ

    • @AlephwithBeth
      @AlephwithBeth  3 года назад +1

      La palabra שׁמשׁ puede ser masculino o feminino, varía un poco dependiendo del versículo. Si miras Génesis 19.23, verás que allí ocurre con la forma verbal masculino הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ יָצָא.

      @@AlephwithBeth Cuando José sueña con el Sol, la Luna y las estrellas, es fácil interpretar que el Sol es su padre, la Luna es su madre y las estrellas sus hermanos. Hace muchos años discutí con una persona que decía que como שׁמשׁ es femenino y ירח masculino, debía ser al revés.
