    You presented this so clearly, and exactly at my level of baking expertise (ie. ZERO!) that I've decided to make them this weekend. Well done! (btw, I have no heavy cream on hand, but I do have an almost full bottle of buttermilk in the fridge. Could I substitute that? Thank you!)

      Thanks, Bob! Yes, you can substitute buttermilk for the heavy cream. The flavor will be a little tangy, but the texture will be the same.
