I took my AU XR8 off the road which i had owned since 2009, i had too many regos at once so i built a shed and parked it in the meantime i bought a BF XR8 aggressor...before selling that for a 2016 Mustang GT...this video now has me wanting to get the old girl back on the road... unfortunately funds are way too tight ..the fastest way to fix that is to sell the Mustang GT parked right next to it..but i dont want to do that either i love driving thr stang...but i feel ill love my XR8 on the road more..no where near as fast but a way better drivers car...i could even put a bit of power thru it as well...hmmmm
Definitely hold on to that XR8, even if you can't get her back on the road right now it'll be awesome when you do. I think you have the right idea about adding a bit more power too!
Great story...and smart thinking with regards to the choice of engine. Definitely outside the box. I've got a barnfind XD that's my my daily driver on full rego (because I wanted to drive it all the time) but sooner than later it'll be going off the road for a while to replace the 250 crossflow with an eight of some kind. I'm probably going Cleveland. But that intake is very interesting. It's genuine GT40? That's a trick bit of gear. That's not something you could opt for on the AU XR8 right? Sorry...I'm not familiar with Windsors of that era. Cheers.
Thanks mate, yeah they called it GT40. It was a Ford Performance (probably called Ford Racing at the time) part in the 90s. It wasn't something you could opt for on an AU but the EB&EL GT had them standard. The F-150 SVT lightning also had them where I'm pretty sure mine came from because of the lightning plate that's on it.
For real? That blows! I think it was March 22 that I asked for it but they didn't get back to me until October 22. I always wanted one for the GS and XR8. 😪
Great vid and great car and story... There was a time I looked at the old Ford's and never gave a second look. Now I love the look/styling. To me they have aged well
