Sorry to hear about your dad's passing. Glad you are starting your journey. Your on camera explanations and tour are right on par with those bigger channels. Well done. 💪👍🤙
Wow. Thanks for sharing. The woodwork is absolutely gorgeous! You see so much in older rvs that’s the yellow stained pine, but yours is really beautiful…like a walnut look. You’re so lucky! Enjoy your project!
Thank you! I've been procrastinating on replying to your nice comment because I plan on painting a lot of it, which I'm afraid will disappoint you. I do like the color of the wood though and might keep some of it. But I really appreciate you commenting and hope you won't be too mad at me when I paint it :)
Congrats, great find. We bought our 2006 Rearbath, 26.5’ almost 2 yrs ago. Ours only had 24,000 miles when we bought it. We drove her from AZ to Alaska & bk last yr & had an incredible trip. I’m excited to follow your work on Mr Green & your adventures. Welcome to the LD community.
Great looking "Oldie"..., I'm a RV Nomad on a 1989, 31ft. Marathon, (all Aluminum) Ford E-350, 7.5 liter (460cid engine) with 116, 690 Odo miles, towing my wrangler as my "dingy". These Old rigs are "work horses", powerful Motors and tranny's. The key is, Preventive maintenance and lots of TLC and they are faithful companions on the road. Happy Trails...& welcome to RV life.
Hello Linda, you picked out a nice, clean, low mileage, and the right size rig. That's half the battle! Theirs something to be said about the off set kitchen sink! After all your going to be at that sink about 25 times in a day. I can't wait to see how you'll remedy that and the wide range of materials to complete that counter top!!!! Your going to have fun putting your signature all over, and make it your own. Thumbs 👍. I subscribed too. Take your time with it!!! Toledo Ohio.
Thank you so much! You know, now that I’ve had it a while and have been putting so much work into it, I’m not sure anymore if I will change the sink after all. But we’ll see. Thank you for the encouragement. I really appreciate it!!
I actually love the off set sink. It gives it character lol. I might put a bigger sink in though. I love your rig and the size is perfect for 2. Not too small, not too big. I would love this size for myself some day. As you said, the passing of your dad made you look at your life differently, and that's the same outlook I have. Although I am 66 years old, I still have the youthful attitude and adventuresome spirit. I'm so sorry about your dad. He will be with you on this journey to fix up and travel. My dad passed 10 years ago, and I think he would've loved to have bought a Class C and travel everywhere. I think that's where I get my adventuresome spirit. Have fun! I'll be following along with your journey. I hope to learn alot from you. Tonda in Ohio 😁
@@tondamalone3303 thank you so much for your kind words. I actually really wanted to take my dad on road trips and was starting to make plans to make it happen but he passed sooner than expected. So it’s bittersweet but I agree that he will be with us in spirit. ❤️
@@LindaYoshi reading that you had plans to take your dad, I had also talked with my dad about traveling around and I was hoping to get the RV before he wasn't physically able, and colon cancer came quickly and took him fast. Maybe that's why I'm so eager to get my Class C before my health gets bad, and I can feel my dad riding along... when I lived in Wyoming a couple years, my 86 year old dad INSISTED on driving from Ohio to Wyoming, just to visit with me! So, wherever I travel to some day, I know he'll be riding along for sure. And, I'll be playing his Big Band songs sometimes for him. Lol
That sounds like a lovely plan. We seem to have similar situations so I hope you're able to get your RV and start on your journey as well. I want to take over where my dad left off and take my mom along on these journeys with me. It was her dream to travel after she retired and she wasn't able to with my dad's health issues. Sending happy and positive thoughts and prayers to you and hope you're able to manifest your RV soon!
You have picked a winner! Lazy Daze RV's are some of the best built. There was a woman that had one that traveled all over the country, of course she had to fix it every now and again. She is still on RUclips I believe and her LazyDaze was retired when she got her new class C. This is your journey, different chapter new page.
Good for you seizing the day and not waiting because life goes by so quickly. So sorry to hear about your Dad I still miss my dad after all these years. Will be following your journey. Safe travels.
Thank you very much. I like to think that he will now get to travel along with me in spirit without any of the physical limitations he was living with. Sorry for your loss as well.
That is beautiful! I love that green carpet, and I would not touch that retro-cool counter-top -- really distinctive. Still, the main thing are the experiences you will have as a family -- happy trails ahead!
A beautiful Lazy Day, and in great condition - look forward to see some more! Sorry about your father's death. I am sure you are going to have a wonderful time renovating and sharing the journey xx
I actually owned a Lazy Days just like this ! Same color and twin beds! If I could find it again I would never let it go. If anyone has one to sell please let me know. I sold it in North Carolina at a used RV lot for $12 thousand dollars, dumb I know! I was not thinking ! Mine had two twin size beds in back so I would definately know it was mine.
Keep it original as much as possible. Looks nice. Kitchen sink and counter may need some attention everything else looks great. I have a 1998 class a winnebago and I'm keeping mine all original. The era speaks for itself.
Thank you. I do plan on doing some painting and updating the decor, but I'm keeping the layout original. I think I changed my mind about the sink too and will be keeping it. :)
Sorry to hear about your father, I retired early when my dad passed away two years ago, and set out to buy a TK as well. Looks like a fine TK. Shocking low miles for a 25+ old RV, mine had just 7,000 miles for a 2017. Don’t get it, I’ve already put on 7,000 miles in six months.
Thank you for your kind words. I'm sorry to hear about your loss as well. I hope you are out there enjoying the country and bringing your dad's spirit with you. I plan on putting a lot of miles on my rig as well!
So very sorry to hear about your fathers passing. My prayers for comfort and peace extended to you. That's a very nice rig you've found, eventually I'll find Mr. Green's twin in as good condition. Have you figured out the gas mileage yet? I found a great older blog by Andy Baird who made many mods to his 22" LD Gertie. Check it out maybe you'll get some ideas, especially his pantry 😉.
Thank you very much. That is so kind. I haven't driven it enough to figure out mileage. That will be interesting with the gas prices right now. I'll have to check out that blog. I'm sure there's a ton of good info there!
I love the green and the blue! I really wish I could find one in those colors . I found a brown one. I really love it though, just waiting for my money to buy it.

For a table in back, just use the cheap portable tables you can get from WalMart. Ed Newton gave us our test drive. It's too bad the company is no longer in business.
I know :( I am very sad too about the company closing. They just don't make RVs like these anymore. I did like the idea of a portable table in the back but I also wanted it to look nice and be durable. I was able to find this really nice folding bamboo table. It comes in different sizes and it can be used outside or moved around, etc. It's a bit spendy for a talbe, but I really love it! amzn.to/3xF1Lcz
There are four seat belts in the rear seating area and two up front in the cab, so 6 total. Although I don’t think you could sleep 6 without being crammed in there.
I will never understand on these RUclips Channels & people are so excited about what they found & bought but never state what they paid for it. This does not ever help the viewer out. What the price are for older RV's, Van's, Box Trucks to start with. It surely would give the want-to-bee, that wants to get a Vehicle what is needed to start a project. Without knowing 1st hand, will only send many in another direction in the journey.
I found mine on RV Trader. You can see prices on most of the listings and compare different models. It's a really helpful and easy way to get an idea on what the costs are. NADA also has an RV pricing guide that can help, but as with all used vehicles, it's hard to put a value on renovations and improvements, etc. Hope that helps :)
I hope and pray to God that you didnt remodel it and paint it all white inside. That would be the top crime of all time. An utterly egregious crime. I mean, why do you want to "transform" it when you said you bought it because you liked it? I cant stand people who buy up our beautiful vintage RVs only to turn then into hideous sights of monochrome and stainless steel. Go buy a new ugly one and just tear it up to your delight. No one would care.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to post a comment. I did end up using white paint and updating the interior. I’m sure not everyone will like my aesthetic, but I really love the way it turned out and it brings me so much joy to be able to travel in it. That’s what was important for me. Yes, I agree. I love that it is roomy but is still small enough to drive and park like a van.
