This was done 3 years ago and Lazy Daze has sadly closed their doors. I was looking forward to going to see them. I am currently buying a used one and love them! Everything I’ve learned about them and the way they are built, is just outstanding. So sad they are gone!
I like how Lazy Daze didn't sully their interior with a Television. Makes this old RV much more appealing not having a giant CRT TV in a big silly cabinet that isn't useful for much else. It's been very well kept by the previous owner.
OMG! I love it! I wish I could go get it! I'd buy it....have it all checked out...then get it! Those couches make into awesome beds! I'd mount a TV off the bunk or off the top of the bench seat facing the couches!!!!
Something that was lost was that overhead bunk windshield. Some of my favourite RV memories was camping with my grandparents, and them letting me have that bunk since they couldnt climb up. It didn't feel like a coffin because it had max windows. I get the front caps have a tendency to leak but man I hope that comes back one day.
We have the same model same year just a different color. We renovated ours and I was amazed at the quality construction of these units. Just as an example the cloth material of that head knocker you mentioned has well over 100 staples holding it to the wood, then the wood itself had 5-6 screws holding it to cabinet.
CB radio is nice! Some decent storage for its time (and better than some newer models, too). Not sure who thought that huge window in the shower was a good idea, though.
Lazy Days is popular here in Tennessee. It's only been the salespersons that have put me off and made us decide to drive to Michigan. Lol. But the rvs themselves? We like them very much, including this one. For the right price, Josh, this could be a great deal for a travel nurse like me!
Dand it! I live in Minnesota....so close but so far away! I simply love the design and Lazy Daze builds to last! All it needs is a good clean, a good tune up on all the equipment, engine n things. This kills me! I wish I never watched it.....the huge closet would house a washer n dryer...I'd have it built in.
I will have to refer you to the staff members on site. This is so old I was unable to locate spec listings. From here “about 30ft” is what I can estimate This is being sold on consignment so we do not go thru everything before hand. Our folks at that facility have no issues hooking everything up and checking the systems of course It’s sort of like real estate - we are simply the agents who show the house and we can arrange for inspections
Lazy Daze is still very much in business. They build to customer order. It's a two year waiting list for orders. They sell direct only, no dealers. 3 models to choose from. Not cheap either.
That's cool! They don't build a lot, but they've been in business since 1956 so you figure there's got to be plenty out there -- especially if THIS is how they hold up!!
Look at how much better quality this is compared to most stuff you see nowadays. I’m upset I can’t afford this because I’m in love. This is super cool. I hope the next owners appreciate the heck out of it
They're still going strong from what I see. They're built to order. More of a "The few and the proud" kind of thing. Though not common they're evidently pretty well respected in the SoCal area
Is that a 460 for power? I believe Lazy Daze was the first makers of class c's. I think they strip van bodies to get to the chassis then build the motorhome.
Apologies I do not know which powerplant is under that hood and I believe the RV is already picked off. Apparently the name was far more well known than I realized! Likely over here in the midwest we just don't see them as often since they're a western builder.
The layout is very cute. I like the rear bath and the definition of space so much, that I am willing to forgive them for not putting in my u shape dinette!
Man they seem to really take pride in their work. I'm impressed at how well something of this age has held up. Truly a case of "The few and the proud" build mentality
Hi Josh. Well...I did get a trailer ordered with one of our local RV dealers here in CO. However, I would say, this model is an absolute awesome example of a basic, used, functional choice! It would fall in the category of those trips that my wife wasn't going with me; it was just me and the dog. We could go off road on the moderate dirt roads and boondock out in the woods without fear of breaking something; and have a grand time! Or, we could go to a commercial campground close to one of my favorite hiking or fishing areas. And since it is Cinco De Mayo.....and many folks are vaccinated, this would be a great floorplan to bring the fireside festivities inside after the sun goes down and the temps drop significantly. The only real objection I have to his rig is that it doesn't have the dedicated bed. But then again, the wife wouldn't be with, in the first place, anyways hehehe Have a great rest of your week!
@@JoshtheRVNerd That is awesome. It reminds me of my first travel trailer; a 1967 Roadrunner 17ft. I LOVED that trailer! It was back when they constructed cabinetry with hardwood. The downside-- there are probably not too many modern 17foot trailers that are close to 5000lbs empty hehehe Yes...this one looks nice! I'm with you on those restriction things. Bleh. Our rig should arrive in July. I will mostly be doing boondocking out in the national forest and on BLM lands; so no age restrictions there!!! On that 1967 trailer I had....we had it for a couple of weeks and got a torrential rain in Colorado Springs (second most active lightning area in the country). Afterwards, I noticed some water leaking inside the windows and on the wall. I put coat of that rubbery silver "paint" on the roof and the trailer was just outstanding for years and years! Somebody would walk in and pay cash for your rig here, put a couple hundred bucks into freshening up the roof sealants......and just camp away!
Laze Daze has an excellent reputation around here in So Cal, but I wouldn't say they are a common sight. They are definitely a small manufacturer, and I'd be surprised if they produce more than 300 units annually.
Josh, I’ve seen you critique the condition of over 100 RV roofs, so I was a little surprised that you had no comment on this roof which seemed to have so many visible cracks in the sealant that it should require a total resealing of the roof? I also love older motor homes, but it’s really tough to get an understanding of the condition of any RV when you’re not told what works and what doesn’t? As is never inspires confidence in anything that is up for sale?
I understand not being able to guarantee the working order of the RV when I am thru it is not confidence inspiring But it is also valuable information for potential owners to have when deciding how to approach a potential purchase. That’s why I explain what’s been done, what we know, and what hasn’t been done and what we don’t know It’s important to remember we do not own the RVs listed on consignment in the way a real estate agency doesn’t own the houses they offer.
