    @charlesokoro654 2 дня назад +2

    You can't give what you don't have. The idea that all successful nigerian musician came to Ghana for learning is disrespectful. In life there many things you don't learn. Being talented is not enough when you are not putting in great efforts for global success. The nigeria artists know that efforts counts even with your talent. Ghanaians are not looking at the business side of music and not ready to risk it all. Ghanaians are just consoling themselves as being teachers but the students are way ahead. Put your knowledge at the global stage for all to see instead of talking.There is no 80/20 but private investment in the music industry which helps to sign and promote the craft of artists. The system is built on quality sounds and promotions. Most management teams are professionals not paddy paddy., There is a well laid out structure in the nigerian music industry, highly competitive with the Americsns. No jokes.

    Plus, it took Nigerians decades to travel and export afrobeat to make it what it is today, but ghana musicians just want it to happen overnight. Just because you went to Nigeria and you didn’t see the result immediately doesn’t mean you avoid it or give up….if I was a top artist in ghana, I would collaborate with a big producer like don jazzy on an album, who will in turn put on like 5 top artists on the album. This is common sense. Connect with Nigeria and their market by using their big producers who will also give you top stars to feature.

    Nigerian artistes visit Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, USA, Canada, Jamaica, Russia, UK, Sweden, and all over the world. Only Ghana thinks that a visit by Nigerian artistes is anything special. And Nigerian artistes come to learn. Even though Ghanaian artistes are not as successful as Nigeria. Nigerian artistes use English words, Swahili, French, Patois and many other foreign languages and slang to give Afrobeat wide appeal. Only Ghana thinks it makes them special that Nigerian artistes uses Ghanaian word. The ancestral elements of Nigeria's Afrobeat exists in other West African countries, because West African countries have some similarities of cultures and rhythm! Only Ghana claims Nigeria's music as their own simply because they heard a similarity. Ghana thinks that elements and rhythms that commonly exist all over West Africa belongs to Ghana.

    If you're talking about your artists traveling to Nigeria and not getting feedback from their visits. Work harder. Our artists didn't break the global markets with one hit song, it was years of investment and constant traveling, networking, reinventing our sounds while keeping true to ourselves that got us where we are.
    Don't think because Nigerians didn't recieve your music the first time that you give up. You go back to drawing board and look at what the problem was and improve. Your artists are not consistent in learning new things

    Do you understand why you have artists and actors from UK, Canada, Australia all hustling in the streets of New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles to make a breakthrough. Because they understand once they break America? they will get major exposure globally than they ever would getting in their native countries.
    That's how Nigerian artists think, we already have Africa in our hands but we understand that USA(and to an extent UK) is the main goal to spearhead all our the world beyond the black diaspora.
    Your artists should start by approaching Nigeria like the African version of America, hustle heavy in the streets of Lagos for a year or 2 and you'll see success here and eventually other African countries will watch you from our influence. Then once you have Nigeria and Africa, you move on to other influencial countries globally like UK, Jamaica, USA, Korea to expand your reach.
