    Could you cover Joseph Fritzel ? The Austrian guy that built a basement under his home and kept his daughter in there and had multiple offspring for I think a couple of decades... while all the time living with his wife upstairs and living a somewhat normal life... this story is so sickening, when it broke on the news, I remember how horrified people were that someone could even think of such a thing, let alone actually do it.

    Great new angle to produce content that is intriguing, but yet chilling... using your skill set to the max, and could possibly imagine you telling a court this type of information. Well done Dr !!!

    I really like this new series of videos on famous cases. Your POV adds something unique and offers angles that most people haven't considered in these cases. I'd really love to hear your take on Jack the Ripper. I have a feeling you could offer new insight on what was going on in that person's mind, even though it wouldn't necessarily lead to the real perpetrator. (Yes, I know some people say they've proven who Jack was, but I haven't seen or read evidence that I considered definitive. Even the recent DNA analysis that was done leaves questions, for me anyway.)

    Evidence suggests that a significant number of people experience childhood trauma. Most don’t become serial killers. So what exactly caused Dahmer to commit these heinous crimes?

    I hope you will not pander to the fan club of this murderer. He was horrific but because they made films about him people think they can relate to him and totally forget his victims and the severity of his actions.

      Why would he do that? He's a psychiatrist, not any old random RUclipsr.

    • @NKA23
      @NKA23 8 дней назад

      Yes, what he did was horrible. But unlike other serial killers like f.e. John Wayne Gacy or Ted Bundy, he never denied his guilt after he got caught, he did a full confession of his crimes during his first interrogation after his arrest. He showed authentic regret and remorse about what he had done during his trial and in interviews he gave before he got murdered himself. He wasn't a slick, narcissistic asshole like f.e. Bundy, who still tried to shift the blame for his crimes on pornography during his last interview, just a couple of hours before he got executed. I can't relate to Dahmer's fetishes, I can't relate to what he has done to others, but I can relate to his feeling of being lonely and lost in life. That's why, despite knowing what he has done and despite feeling so sorry for his victims and their families and friends, I can still also feel pity towards Jeffrey Dahmer. And I don't think that puts me in his "fan club" in any shape or form.

      @crowmedicine3890 other youtubers do . I've seen the stuff myself. I suppose they do it for the fan club likes. Might not be enough for you or me but for many that's enough.

      @crowmedicine3890 because for some the likes r enough. I've seen plenty like that online and the reaction from the fanclub. It's low and I am glad this Dr got through it without the pandering. It's inexcusable .

      @@deniseelsworth7816 It's the classic siding with the aggressor/bully for safety routine, they literally think it will keep them safe while exploring thrill seeking from a place of cowardice. Ie: Cult victims/victimizers...
      Actual Victims families/loved ones should start RUclips channels or Hardcore Industrial Rap, Punk, Metal Bands to extinguish Romanticized Denialism. It's pathetic.

    Dahmer: The only SK who was able to uphold the sanctified tradition of Midwest Nice.😅
    With these killers, it's often foremost in my mind what makes some of us never want to cross lines that hurts people, while others feel compelled to erase those lines completely. It's especially difficult to understand when the trauma (like Dahmer's) is death-by-a-thousand-paper-cuts without the usual, conspicuous childhood brutalities. Or at least, far less of them. This gray area is my gray area (psychologically) and I often wonder what person or event saved my mind. Why did I simply want to interact with and protect vulnerable animals while Dahmer wanted to take them apart to see what's inside? There are so many parallels between his early life and mine, but I just don't have that key killer characteristic that separates us. I have a tendency to resent others being in my space but my desires never go beyond wanting to shout them out of my existence. Or sometimes into it.😆
    A profiler (really, spellcheck?🙄) once told me that the difference was because I was female. Naturally that wasn't a satisfactory answer at first. However, given time to sink in I could see his point. There *are* striking differences between masculinity and femininity (no matter the gender identity) that propels us in completely different ways. We're raised with others subconsciously nurturing very different aspects of our personalities. Still, I can't help but think that's too tidy of an answer. Or maybe I just want a complex answer. At least a more complete one. Thanks for bringing me one step closer, doctor. You are truly the GOAT.

    I would be really interested in hearing speculation/discussions on what might have happened if Dahmer was born in the 2000's, and maybe not in the US but say Scandinavia or UK where the culture is so vastly different. More emphasis on mental health, more openness to being gay, more assistance and support than in the 70's/80's USA. Would he have become a SK or just an emo kid with morbid interests?

    I was just wondering with someone like Dahmer where is the break can you tell when he evolved into a person that lost control. Is it through puberty mixed with lack of attachment that causes someone to do this. Or is there more like school issues and other environmental issues?

    I appreciate your clear explanation of Jeffrey Dharmer's shocking and macabre crimes. I am unable to relate to his murders and feel sorry for the victims. Dennis Nilsen had some similar methods of killing and issues regarding loneliness. A further exploration would be interesting.
    I prefer your old style of A Psyche for Sore Minds and miss the offbeat humour and the more personal surroundings.
