Hi, It's unbelievable how far you have gotten with the build. It looks amazing, we are surprised you haven't got a buyer yet, If we weren't living on the darkside (caravan) but still enjoy watching who knows maybe one day 😊 Loving the channel enjoy. Take care and good luck 👍 Paul and Joanne 😁
Cracking progress! It’s surprising how different it looks after the roof carpeting and the bed starting to shape up. Really enjoying watching and some useful tips too thank you. All the best, David 👍
Hey Stu you are doing a great job and doing it quickly as well. Good narrative and tips given as well which is always good. Enjoying watching the channel👍
Back in the day when I was an MoD Equipment Examiner (REME), I could only pass and re-engineered parts or equipment if any nylock nuts were used if there’s at least 3 threads showing past the nylon and with the threaded part filed smoothly I can agree it seems a faf but it’s a good standard to keep as it’s easy to stop short AT the nylon and they can still vibrate off. Also, on the threaded bat going across between Seat sides it would’ve been good practice to add a tube of anything, best if steel to stop and compressing of the seat sides. I do think your probably one of the best fitters/builders I’ve watched on YT. Well done on your video’s and new venture. I would happily buy one of your vans with confidence. Will you be still out traveling again as I found your travels vlogs really good.
Hi mate, thanks for the advice, give me wood and I can do anything but still learning the world of metal. I do plan on spraying it black to seal it and make it blend in a bit more 👍🏻
Fantastic video again. This is going to be a superb van. Your attention to detail makes it for me. I'm a massive Festool fan boy lol. My domino has to be my finest purchase 😂😂
Thanks mate, it’s coming on now 👊🏻 love my plunge saw. Never used dominos but never needed to or at least I don’t think I do, am I missing out, now I have ihaventgotit citis 🤣
Like number 1000! I’m honoured. Absolutely amazing channel. Much needed guidance I’ve been looking for. I’m due to buy a van to convert. I’m still unsure which van and what layout will be best but with these videos it’s become far less worrying. Thank you
Hi, Maybe you can shove heat shrink on the all thread and double it so the thread is almost invisible, looks a bit more out of factory perhaps, Cheers Albert
You are doing great and I can see greater things in the future as you get your contact with suppliars and documenting dimensions and plans will improve efficency as time is money. Stick to the Ducato / Peugot and Crafter as taking on too many van types could create problems. Although you a very capable
Very impressed with your work mate and cant wait for further installments! I can tell you are OCD about detail which is only going to be a good thing for the finished van! Keeping an eye on the sale too as we are looking to get into a bit of vanfife in the next few years 👍🏻
You're clearly a highly skilled tradesman Stu. It's a job to keep up with your explanation of what you are doing at times but the results speak for themselves. I'm sure this van will be fantastic for someone. I assume that you will go on to do bespoke stuff soon? Btw, we meet you and your family at Raco campsite in Benidorm in March..
Hi loving the videos. New to this. Could you use. BLUETTI AC200MAX Expandable Power Station 2200W 2048Wh. Instead of full electrics. As you can add solar. As only want to be a weekend type van. When I build it. Or buy one of you. 😅😅😅. Keep up the good work. 👍👍👍 0:26
I have seen them built with a power station being its power source but with lithium coming down in price it’s cheaper to do a bespoke system now as you still have to run all the cables, end points etc and you’d lose the dc to dc charging capability well you wouldn’t be able to do above 8 amps via a cigarette lighter 👍🏻
Loving your Boxer conversion series, I’ve just purchased a Mwb 2018 ready to start converting after doing our T5 3 years a go now and outgrowing it. The question is do you recommend the track saw if so what make do you use.? Keep up the great work and love your workmanship and the explanations of the work in the videos.🤟
Oo Festool 🥰 I fight with my evolution “fake track saw” daily mate!lol what’s your trade bud? Are you a joiner? I’m a spark and metalworker so building our van I’m happy with that area..but most of it won’t ever be seen!ha it’s the joinery bits like kitchen building that scares me! I do love working with wood though, if I could go back to school/90’s!🙈 I think I’d go wood rather than metal 👍🏼 I’m still astonished how much progress you’ve made on your own too
I tried the evo track saw once, once 🤣 I’m a chippy of 20 years mate and then did my full sparky qualification 6 years ago too as I used to specialise in kitchen refurbs. My biggest learning curve has been working with metal on vans but we’re getting there 👊🏻
+ Subsribed! Love this, even though as a novice I would like more of the actual "building" and how to, but I get that it might take too much time to film and/or you're done with that part of it. I'll hopefully start building my own van in a few months and could use all the tips I can get, either way, amazing work, keep it up!
I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it, another fantastic video Love the fact you go into so much detail of the build and I got to the end and shouted “Nooooooo” I want more lol Love the look and work gone into it so far, have you sold it yet and what do you think the end price might come in at ?
Hi Stu! Absolutely brilliant watching these van build videos, I've came back to this one just to ask if you have any suggestions on the best place to buy light weight furniture ply from, and also how many sheets roughly for your build did you buy? Cheers Lee Keep the videos coming 🤞👌
@@VanologyConversions thank you so much for replying, and so quickly, you really are the conversion expert, reckon you set up a training course on van building with you expertise and attention to detail 👌👌😎
Is the mains incoming cable double insulated? . All 230v cables should be double insulated. Also positive and negative cables should enter enclosures through the same holes to prevent magnetic induction and potential over heating. Unlikely for the load kn a camper but still good practice
Loving your videos. In the process of converting my own Ducato. Are you able to shed a little detail of how you have secured your bed bulkhead? Is it just held with corner brackets to the floor & side battens etc.
Ah I’m with you 🤣 I use a pocket hole jig. I have pocket holed to the floor and then on the sides I have gone into the vertical ply battens I made as it falls directly behind them other wise I would have pocket holed them too 👍🏻
@@VanologyConversions Ah, thank you. That make sense. Never thought of using pocket holes for that. I appreciate your quick replies. Looking forward to the next video.
Doing realy realy well there my boy ,keep it,upjust wishing lived just a little bit closer I would make a nuisance of myself and you would have help whether you liked it or not ,I do miss it ❤😂😂

Hi, do you use carpet on the back/side door(s)? If so, pls detail video so I can learn from it. Tanks.❤
They can be done in carpet, ply then carpet or t&g, not fully committed to which way I’ll do these yet 👍🏻
Is the mains incoming cable double insulated? . All 230v cables should be double insulated. Also positive and negative cables should enter enclosures through the same holes to prevent magnetic induction and potential over heating. Unlikely for the load kn a camper but still good practice
Yes all mains are double insulated (I’m a qualified sparky) 👍🏻
Loving your videos. In the process of converting my own Ducato. Are you able to shed a little detail of how you have secured your bed bulkhead? Is it just held with corner brackets to the floor & side battens etc.
I’ve used the ikea skorva bed struts and then ordered the skorva brackets off eBay. I then rivnutted them into the mid beam along the van 👍🏻
Ah, it was the furniture bed bulkhead i was asking about. Ive done exactly that with the Skorva beams already.
Ah I’m with you 🤣 I use a pocket hole jig. I have pocket holed to the floor and then on the sides I have gone into the vertical ply battens I made as it falls directly behind them other wise I would have pocket holed them too 👍🏻

Great bits of advice and tips which are great to give us. Do those bed brackets rivnut directly onto the van mid frame? Cheers
Thanks mate 👊🏻 yes they do but I have to install the rivnuts in there 👍🏻
Whats the name of those bed base/slates called?? they look absolutely ideal for van builds.
Skorva from ikea mate 👊🏻🚐

I’ll pay for the taxi 🤣 it ain’t that far
Doing other vans ... no, you don't slouch over, you kneel, but with well padded cushions 👍😊
I now have me ole man kneel pad, precision made from left over pir board 🤣
Wouldn’t it be better to clad the ceiling rather than carpet holds the smell when cooking, thought it would be a lot nicer 👍
I did think about cladding it but feel carpeted is a bit warmer, maybe on the next one 👍🏻
Loving the series. I look forward to seeing your videos coming up on RUclips. Are you a joiner to trade?
Thanks George, I’m a carpenter by trade 👍🏻
Hi what do you stick the carpet with please.
Our car needs the materials sticking up
Tryed the spray stuff but no good
it needs to be high temp contact adhesive
As mit said it needs to high temperature contact adhesive spray but you need to spray both parts being joined together 👍🏻
Quality build Stuart, do you intend having your conversions issued with an EICR (Electrical Inspection Certificate)?
Thanks mate, yes I am a certifiable electrical engineer 👍🏻
Looking forward to watching this. I’ve just sent you an email regarding a boxer conversion. Thanks, Bruce 😊👍
