I think it's cool that you have so many running examples of old machinery. From back in the days when simplicity ruled. Yet, when they were built, they were all state of the art machines.
Im lovin your videos...no blabbing, no ads, no shitty music....just good ol country air and lots of oil. Great stuff.
i try to do them both ways to get both types of audience. i like both styles videos aswell so i try to make both.
My Dad also restored a Witte in the 80s, it ran on Petrol and when it was warmed up it could run on TVO/Parrafin, he's one had the Felling attachment and blades so it could cut the tree down and then you could process the timber. Great old machine.
you got some nice stuff
Always love these old drag saws! They seem to be very popular in youtube. I have a video of a couple here on my channel and out of nowhere got about 2k views
I've never seen something like this , thanks for sharing it .
That is one beautiful piece of work 👍🇦🇺
brilliant i would like to build a dragsaw with one of these
it sounds and looks very nice
I thought we would get to see it do some work!
sadly no. didn't get it out in time to cut are firewood.
very cool whehe to u find the cool old engines
auctions, garage sales, swap meets ,flea markets ,and antique shops mostly
Capitalist.com and on eBay look up hit miss engine's
@@cruddycornstalks Are they expensive, or can these smaller hit and miss engines be bought for a reasonable amount of money(whatever a reasonable amount is)? Back in the heyday of these engines, was there a guide that told you which size engine you needed for whichever tasks you were planning on using them for? I see a lot of videos of these old engines, but I've still never seen or heard anyone say which size engine you needed for each particular type of job. You'd think that would be important to know, and therefore you'd think that it would be mentioned by the "experts" in some of these RUclips channels that specialize in old engines....
Buen día.una pregunta el combustible qe le echas en el carburador es NAFTA no? Y en qe posición tiene qe estar la rueda para arrancarlo?
Wonderful.
Nice. I like its!!!
My log saw Witte is long way from this one is restoration wise.
it sounds like it has a small problem starting
Kudo's to your Dad for a successful restoration. Do you still crank it up occasionally or for that matter do you actually use it for wood cutting? (Not that a chain saw would be more practical)
we havent used it to cut wood for about 15 years do to it being a lot more of a paint and hassle to get out running set up and then tapes 3X as long to cut a log then a chainsaw. we heat with wood so we try and get done as fast as possible. i wanted to use it last year to get some cutting action in the video but sadly couldnt get it out in time before we where all done with the wood. maybe in a year or two.

Using it to saw logs may not be as efficient as using a modern chainsaw, but I guarantee you that some of the old-school hit & miss powered log SPLITTERS are faster than the modern, portable hydraulic ram type splitters! Look up videos on hit and miss log splitters, and you'll see several different "styles" and designs of old splitters, some of which aren't great designs. But there are some designs that are quick!
