- Ice and heat are both recommended for knee pain from patellofemoral pain syndrome... but which one is best to use?
This has been debated because of unclear research and different people getting different responses to this knee pain treatment.
Some medical professionals swear by using ice, or cold therapy treatment, for all knee pain as a hard rule... while others believe that heat helps to bring more blood flow to the knee joint which is more beneficial for healing.
Who is right about this knee pain relief treatment?
In this video, Dr. David clears up the question, "Ice or heat? Which is best for patellofemoral pain syndrome?"

Sir do make videos for ankylosing spondylitis
Elevate and ice 😊
I use both on my arthritic knee. Mostly prefer heat but there are times when an ice/gel pack works best. Can’t define why I use which 😊
Hey Caroline, Thanks for mentioning this! Many of our patients use both too. Many find the heat to be more soothing but others have benefited for switching back and forth from ice to heat. Continue to do what feels best for you. 🧡
Do you have any sales/discounts to purchase your program?
Need it too
I injured myself by running too much too fast. Physical therapist said I have full mobility of my legs and knees, but my knee caps can’t handle any type of pressure including my own body weight. Which means even standing up aggregates it all over again! Doctor keeps telling me to rest and ice 😭😭😭
