Wish they'd done this version in the studio for ultimate perfection. The true genius of the Eagles (and friends) is clearly on display here. This performance had to be difficult. It was cold and rainy, as you can see if you look closely. Singing and playing instruments in such conditions is very difficult. Now for the critic in me ... everyone did their job here with a few small mistakes, flat notes, voices a bit out of sync, and a couple instrumental gaffs, but still brilliant by any standard. The only person who truly 'nailed' it was Don Felder, as usual. They should have had him go on for another 2-3 minutes. Too bad he, Henley and Frey couldn't work out their egos and differences. Imagine what they might have done if they'd stayed together. (All kudos to Steuart Smith, brilliant in his own right, but he's no Don Felder.) You'd be hard pressed to find any group, in any of it's iterations, with more talent, brilliance and genius, in writing, composing, performing and showmanship than is and was found in the Eagles.
This great song changed my personal and musical life since I was 12 years old in 1985, it is the song of my life and Glenn Frey my eternal love forever, I was able to listen to it 9 times in concert and they are the best nights of my life ❤️
This song really demonstrates Glenn's true vocal abilities. And Don Felder on guitar, listen to that solo! Too bad they kicked him out of the band he brought such greatness to
RIP GLENN YOU WHERE ARE STILL AWESOME THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT MUSIC you and the Eagles music will live on for Generations Merry Christmas to you and your family
You are absolutely right! I couldn,t agree more. Dirty Laundry should have also been released as an Eagle,s hit. Some people think it is, BUT, it is not. Don Henley did the song after the band broke up just like Glen Frye (RIP) did this song. BTW- it is the best cover I have ever heard! These guys do an excellent/superb job! Especially the sax player. There is another cover band out there called LLB (Lexington Lab Band) I would love to see them do this song! Check them out, as every song they do is a perfect 10. They do a Foreigner song called Waiting For A Girl Like You! Check it out. I got into it with some ass-ole in the comment section. I got a lot of thumbs up! Jeff D.
another truly fantastically written song by the late Mr Frey forever reminded of you and the eagles on my birthday .....special thoughts and prayers to the family and close personal friends he is missed greatly
Glenn frey was one of the hardest celebrity deaths for me to accept. Even though i never even met him, i grew up listening to the eagles with my parents so when i heard that he died, it was as if i had lost a close friend. R.i.p. glenn frey may you rock the heavens with your great music
one of the most Greatest songs ever done. remember telling me, THIS is your SONG. I don't need to give out any names, But I'm sure you know who you are..1985.from Sabrina McDaniel Hay I NEVER said thank you. SO I'M SAYING IT NOW
Great 80s Miami Vice theme. Great sax intro and solo by Bill Bergman. Looks like Timothy B. Schmit on bass and backup vocals. Is that Joe Walsh doing his thing whacking at the drums. Don Felder playing a Strat model with custom SD pickups with a wawa pedal and overdrive at the end.
SuperCarver2011 I thought it would've been Don Henley back there helping on drums, otherwise I'm not sure. I don't think I saw Joe Walsh. I'm just wondering when this footage was shot.
Richard Williams Had to be before 96. Frey never liked Felder and disliked him even more after the Hell Freezes Over Tour because of money disputes "again". That is Walsh bangin on the drums. If you can, watch the History of the Eagles documentary. I just watched it the other night on Netflix. Great film.
TiEDyeDEyeZ Upon second viewing, I do believe you are correct saying that is Joe Walsh assisting on drums. I do know there is little for him to do in this number, so why not have him adding that tom tom sound.
BZBEAST12 he uses a wah wah crybaby and a tube screamer ts9 model by ibanez. He also may have used a boss digital delay pedal but not sure if its a dd6 or dd7
We should download that video before it gets taken down immediately. That’s why I don’t do Eagles videos here on RUclips. Even though I love The Eagles
Great Don Felder Solo
The amazing song of the Miami Vice, golden's 80 years.
Miami Vice...
🙂

I believe only Journey and Toto could be considered more Talented.
Too bad Henley lip syncs in his concerts now. Con Henley ripping off his loyal fans…..
Glenn is now somewhere jamming with David Bowie and Gary Richrath.. We miss you already, Glenn.
and with Lemmy
+Dan Wood and Prince
devilofalldoggs Ooh yes. Prince on that pretty Cloud White. He and Gary on his signature gold Gibson would be tearin' it up together, man.
Did we not forget about the musical genius of Maurice White?
maybe gary not bowie
The rare and never released live show in New Zealand (1995). HFO Tour
Isn’t this hell freezes over tour ?
The best version of this amazing song, the saxophone intro is sublime 👍
The Melbourne version is the best by a long shot
Don Felder is really great on guitar.
ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS R.I.P. GLENN ROCK ON IN HEAVEN.
You gotta love Joe Walsh just standing back there next to the drummer idly smacking away on one of the drums.
This great song changed my personal and musical life since I was 12 years old in 1985, it is the song of my life and Glenn Frey my eternal love forever, I was able to listen to it 9 times in concert and they are the best nights of my life ❤️
Best song Glenn ever wrote. You belong to us all now Glenn. RIP
Listen to the passion in Glenn Frey's voice! Love the Saxophone solo
Don Felder and Glenn Frye, my favorite eagles members
Love the anger in his voice and Timothy b Schmidt with the great bass lines

Hermosa ejecución de mis amados Eagles, I Love forever.

Positively fcuking awesome. Don’t know why the band chose to not include this song in their set list post 2005.
Magical...R.i.p Glenn.
I said this before and I'm going to say it again. This is one hit that should have been recorded as an Eagles hit.
You are absolutely right! I couldn,t agree more. Dirty Laundry should have also been released as an Eagle,s hit. Some people think it is, BUT, it is not.

Wow, Felder just roars on the solo. No wonder they called him "Fingers". Impatient can jump to 6:10.
We miss you so much Glen
another truly fantastically written song by the late Mr Frey forever reminded of you and the eagles on my birthday .....special thoughts and prayers to the family and close personal friends he is missed greatly
michael catizone I noticed that his voice is much more high pitched on his solo career
yes im not sure why
michael catizone in the eagles, he really never sung in falsetto. he always sang in his low range of comfort
michael catizone love the eagles
Glenn frey was one of the hardest celebrity deaths for me to accept. Even though i never even met him, i grew up listening to the eagles with my parents so when i heard that he died, it was as if i had lost a close friend. R.i.p. glenn frey may you rock the heavens with your great music
Looks like it was an eagles gig with Glen doing a solo song, as there is also Henley on the second drum kit to the left of the clip

The guitar is a MusicMan. I believe a Silhouette model
SuperCarver2011 I thought it would've been Don Henley back there helping on drums, otherwise I'm not sure. I don't think I saw Joe Walsh. I'm just wondering when this footage was shot.

Glenn Frey the best voice of Eagles RIP
Wrong it's actually Don Henley
@@dennislaneave. Wrong. It was actually Randy that had the best voice.
Wow great solo done by Felder at the end.....that guitar looks magnificent and I'm pretty sure he used some kind of wah-wah effects pedal ;)
+BZBEAST12 The rain made it look even more legendary.
Yup!
BZBEAST12 he uses a wah wah crybaby and a tube screamer ts9 model by ibanez. He also may have used a boss digital delay pedal but not sure if its a dd6 or dd7

Koen Miller al garth began playing sax with the band during the hell freezes over tour .
That is Bill Bergman on the sax. He recorded that great riff in 1984 at Fool On The Hill Studios in NYC. Dude is legendary.. Heartbreak Horns.
