I just hope Things will redo how they treat recurring tasks. So you can complete tasks before the actual day. And perhaps some sort of filter (like Todoist). And not to mention, have the option to turn on/off if you want to see more information about your tasks without clicking into the task itself.
This is such an incredibly simple, and simultaneously incredibly useful idea. I haven’t had the opportunity to test it out just yet, but I immediately created automations for the stores where I do most of my shopping. I’m always looking for ways to try to use Shortcuts, and the lack of location based notifications was something that always bothered me in Things. This scratched both of those itches. Thank you.
Love this tip and am now thinking about how I will be using it going forward. Next time I nip into Trader Joe's the shared shopping list might pop up... Appreciate your comment about the fact that a tip is really a bonus feature and that it really only adds value if you get the basics of your organization down. Working on it, grateful for your helpful guidance!
So I actually just set this up on my iPhone. Then half an hour later I was like "Why?". I understand if some ppl want everything in one app due to some OCD-ish reasons... but tbh, for that sort of "errand I wanna remember at place X" I can just pull up Reminders on my iOS device, and set the same thing up in under 20s. Plus, I don't have these otherwise useless tags cluttering up my system. Just a thought. Love your content btw, Peter!
It would be possible to put a condition to check if exists any task with this tag before trigger? I ask this, because for example, if I set to execute every time that I arrive home, I will get a lot of notifications when I don't need to remember nothing. It is possible? thanks
How can you make it make a sound, an audible alert so that you look at your phone to read the reminder? If there is no such alert I will most often not see the reminder in that I do not look at my phone continually. Any ideas on how to set it to make a sound for the reminder?
Excellent tip, thank you. I'm trying a slight modification which I am happy to share. I have two tags for each of my children, one when I speak to them and one when I visit their home. I've setup to show the Anytime list filtered by Tag and I've added both their tags. Sure I might see future dated Things but I hoping to at list see a list of everything related to them when I arrive.
What do you often forget that you could really use a reminder for?

I agree. When I’m using Things, I use Apple Reminders for location-based reminders.
This is a game changer and such a clever way to integrate Shortcuts and Things. Thank you 🙏
Thank you for this great tip! Very helpful, and I would never have thought about this.
Aahhh been waiting for this 👍🏻

This is great! Thank you for this tip Peter.
Very nice. Thank you.
Excellent one Peter 👐
Awesome Tipp! Thanks a lot!
When opening the app on my iPhone I don’t see a “Personal Automation” prompt
Good tip.
Is there any way to sync this across devices?
Hmm, haven’t tried that
Is it possible to have a notification of a reminder that can talk ?
What do you mean by “a reminder that can talk”?
love your videos
