  • Skeeter Boats, in Kilgore, Texas, is distinctive in maintaining a core vision of developing high-performance, trailered fishing boats. Whereas many builders branch into larger or smaller models, generalist or speculative designs, Skeeter has adhered to a successful formula. Skeeter is also unique in having sustained that vision for 75 years.
This builder hasn’t chased trends; it’s created trends.
Skeeter was among the first builders of fiberglass bass boats in the 1950s, and the first to build a U.S. Coast Guard-approved bass boat. Over the years, the company innovated the V-hull pad design; all-composite bass boat; full-length rod boxes; aluminum-reinforced transom/stringer matrix and many other elements. Confidence at the helm of a sleek, 200-plus-horsepower bass boat? Rods close at hand? Livewell pumps humming? That’s Skeeter’s DNA.

    Boat prices are getting ridiculous

Absolutely agree, but the price of everything is out of hand. Boats have become a status symbol. Not disparaging anyone that has one and not all of them are, but the average fisherman doesn't need a pro level boat that the marketing says they do.

BUYER"s BEWARE!!! I purchased a brand new 2023 ZX200 this year. What a HUGE mistake that was. Here are my reason's...Skeeter Customer service personnel not even worth calling. I will give them a 1 star. Skeeter dealership's just don't care to do warranty work, poor workmanship on the seats, water leaks in the hull, coming in through the through all fittings, LiveWell fittings cracked and/or leaking, electrical wiring connections poor, not even waterproof connectors, quality of fiberglass was not completely buffed and polished, had my Yamaha engine in the shop 3 times, before the engine seized up. Been waiting for 3 months for Yamaha to cover it under warranty. Theses are some of things you will find out after a couple of months. Skeeter says they been in business for 75 years, my question is "HOW" were they able to stay in business that long.

I’ll tell you why. Because Skeeter, up until the mid-maybe late-90s, they were really good, even customer service. My dad would swear to you today if he was alive that something about the company changed around that time.

I agree, boat manufactures just don't care of the quality of boat they put out. I fish a lot of tournaments and I hear all the complaints of the new boats today. I'm finally working out all the problems and I think this will be my last new bass boat I ever purchase. Warranties are not worth the paper it's written on. Yamaha finally replaced my power head, but the questions I had to answer was unbelievable. Here are a couple of questions they asked me. They asked me one question if anyone else runs my boat? This was the Yamaha factory warranty people asking me questions like this. They wanted to know if I was towed in and if the engine was down or up when getting towed in. The place that I had the warranty repair done. The Service Manager worked for Yamaha over 20 years before and they wanted him to take pictures of how the engine was mounted to my hydraulic jack plate. He could not believe what they were asking for, other than they were trying to weasel out of the warranty. The new Powerhead costs $12, 500 and 15 hours of labor on top of the price of the powerhead. @@lastlogicallib

I have a 2022 Skeeter ZXR20. And to be honest, the quality control is hurrendous. Wiring is absouletly a joke. Cap to hull is complete junk. As a kid growing up I dreamed of owning a Skeeter. I will never buy another Skeeter. Customer service sucks. I've sent numerous emails to Skeeter warranty division with no response back. So with that.... Phuck you skeeter!!
