Love that boat. I'm so scared to take my boat up to that speed on these flood control lakes. So many stick ups and shallow spots. Excited for 2022 for you!!
Nice boat and congrats on your RUclips success. I bought a 2021 FXR21 Limited back in September. First time I took it out I was surprised that it chined walked. My previous two Zx’s were no hand driving and full throttle. Oh well just had to learn to work the steering wheel. I watched the video when Edwin interviewed you. Those type of vids are always nice to see how people get their start. Anyways keep up the good work.
Yamahammer! I love Yamaha everything! My Yamaha dirt bike is a 2 stroke weapon! Nothing like Yamaha power! Excellent content! Not to be bias, but nice video! Great looking boat!
Just watched this video and I'm going to agree with keep your hands on the wheel at all times. I run a go fast boat and believe me things can go bad in less than the reaction time for you to grab back ahold of it. Not to mention that by that time, your boat is going to do what it wants and there's no recovery until it settles down on the water. Hopefully you and your partner will still be in the boat and not swimming for your lives. I call it running on the edge, you'll know the feeling when you squeak a couple more mph out of her. It'll be squirrley and you'll feel what I'm talking about.
Tyler, great boat! But dude keep your hands on the street I guess wheel. Several years ago I was fishing a tournament and my partner for the day had just gotten a new bass boat. At about 50mph, he wanted to show me the he could take his hands off the steering wheel. I thought to myself, are you crazy. The boat then hit a wave a little different than before and the boat hit a hard right and it threw me through his brand new passenger console. The console was now wrecked but I was glad I hit it otherwise I would have flown overboard on the port side. I learned an important lesson that day, don’t take chances when only one thing good can happen and all the other possibilities are bad. You have a lot of years ahead of you and a lot of great videos ahead of you. Stay safe.
The folks at Skeeter (should they see this video) are going to have a heart attack when they see you driving 73 MPH with your hands off the wheel. I'm sure if you asked them they would tell you, "Please don't ever do that again". Tyler...you're smarter than that. Be safe.
@@TylersReelFishing Thank you. We all understand that the hydraulic steering systems on todays modern boats is great and helps to keep a boat running straight, BUT, just in case. Just sayin. God Bless.
Dont forget to change your engine oil and gear oil....that's important. What were your RPMs at when going full throttle? May not be propped correctly...but that's something you should wait on until you get your boat finished....than prop it, bad ass boat man
@@TylersReelFishing not just about speed brother, it's about efficiency also...and if the engine isn't reaching it's full RPM and full efficiency could cause internal damage. If you're able to reach max RPM by raising the jack plate and/or adjusting your trim than you're fine.
heck yeah man!!! Are you partnering with Garmin this year? Also, if you don't mind me asking, who all are you partnered with this year? I know you got Lews, strike king, bass forecast, Outkast tackle, the bass tank...who else?
Really? Where do you see that? I’ve always seen it said the FXR likes to run jackplate high. 10-12+ on the guage. So far mine runs better up there, but I’m no expert w it.

Great video Tyler! That skeeter was moving!
It really does!
Congrats on your new rig! You deserve it!
Dang, your up and working early. Love your content! Wish you'd come up north to Alberta Canada during the summer for some pike fishing!
Looked like fun! Very nice Tyler!

Nice - congratulations on your new ride!
Thank you!
Congrats on your bigg bass man.
you know skeeters love love the weight in the back.. throw some more tackle and crap back there and she will do 76 like mine..

Thanks for the wise words ❤️
For chine, slower smoother smaller inputs will keep it stable and the nose pointed forward and straight
As always a great video. Love that new Skeeter, BUT, please do all of us a favor and keep at least one hand on the wheel. PLEASE.
I will!

Never even worry about re-propping it honestly. That’s fast enough for me

Great video, fast boat. I love all of your videos especially your tutorial videos. I am glad I found your channel. Have a great day. God bless!
I’m glad you found the channel too James!
Hey Tyler was wondering if you have the manual jackplate and if so what do you run it at?
No, it’s hydraulic
@@TylersReelFishing do you ever adjust it at all?
When are the power poles getting put on the boat??
Probbaly end of January
When I raise the Atlas jack plate to about 11 at WOT, it gets Really hard to steer. Steering wheel feels really stiff. Is that normal?
It depends on your water chop and prop type. Mine doesn’t get that tight but I also don’t raise mine that high now. I keep it about 8
@@TylersReelFishing Thank you for answering Tyler! I kinda feel like 7 or 8 is the sweet spot anyway.
Awesome Tyler, I want a boat someday!!!!! How did you parter up with skeeter?
ruclips.net/video/_NqztT6aisY/видео.html
what was your trim setting at top speed
Are you running stock 25 T 2 prop from factory? I have the same boat, it's never ran 73.
Stock prop
heck yeah man!!! Are you partnering with Garmin this year? Also, if you don't mind me asking, who all are you partnered with this year? I know you got Lews, strike king, bass forecast, Outkast tackle, the bass tank...who else?
Not with garmin yet, just the bass tank
Hey Tyler, a video idea for you, how to keep your boat under control during a chine
Heck, I don’t even know how to do that haha. I just slow down
Kill switch?
I just ordered a zxr20 can't wait to get it, but Colorado has a speed limit 😏 I'm going to have to try that in new mexico. Sweet video 👍
So awesome! Not about the speed limit though
Not much experience with balancing on the pad?
Nice boat, I'm still a Merc guy
How much does it cost
Ask his dad......
No, ask me, I bought it in 24. Email me TylersReelFishing@gmail.com
Hey when we gonna see another speed test bud??
Ain’t nothin changed haha
You should really hold the wheel while going that fast especially with chime walk… u are one wake away from never waking again.
Were you doing something with your middle finger on your left hand? Looked almost like a turn signal lever!!! Not too familiar with what it may be.
It’s the blinker trim
I cant hear you 😂😂 your crackin me up
And yet driving a ranger at 72mph is slow to people lol. 70 mph in a boat is fast. I don’t care who you are.
Very fast. I cruse at 50 most of the year
I’m hitting 72 in my 2007 Z21
That rig is sexy.. I hope you have a great New Year Tyler. God Bless and safe adventures
Thanks Travis!
I built that trailer I work at skeeter only if I knew you was there
Shoot! I’d love to meet ya! Thanks for building such a great trailer!
Tyler they also recommended having the engine as low in the water and tucked under as much as possible
Really? Where do you see that? I’ve always seen it said the FXR likes to run jackplate high. 10-12+ on the guage. So far mine runs better up there, but I’m no expert w it.
@@RyanNichols1 That was my dealers recommendation for the break in period with my 2021 fxr
@@lrwilliams3160 ohhh for the break in, yeah.
You really want to take it easy ona new motor for a month. To properly break it in.
Which I’m doing! For the first 10 hours, Yamaha tells you to keep top speed to under 5 mins at a time.
Yes its not safe but a Skeeter is the only boat I would feel safe dropping both hands off the wheel at 73+
Amen to that
nice
Nice boat, but If I got a new boat with 250 power and it would only do 73 I would not be impressed .
Trust me, 73 is fast enough. And the “slower” hull as you say rides really dang well in rough water. Can’t have 84mph with a good ride
How ya liking a black boat?🥵
I'm sorry dude, I don't get it, was the point of this video to show us the boat or a video of you?
Yes
Fast
It’s got a warranty . Give it hell right off the trailer
As a Yamaha tech. These are the kinda people that keep me in business 😂
😳😳😳😳😳😳
Been better if you had actually showed the speed btw.
I am a trustworthy fellow. You can believe what I say about speed. That’s a silly thing to lie about

No, not it’s not 😂

73 isnt even that impressive for 20 years ago.
It’s a 21 foot boat, fully loaded. What, you wanna go 89mph? How’s that gonna work for you when you hit a wakeboard wave?
