This is the first year I’ve used Ned rigs , and it’s been catching me bass in GA this winter . Chatterbaits and Ned rig are about the only things working for me .
Kansas bank fishing- I like that drop shot set up. Lip less cranks I just started getting in too-so many colors and styles- you mentioned sticking with shad colors supper big help.
Chatterbaits worked like a traditional jig work exceptionally well in Washington waters. The few lakes that are still open during the winter time are all grass, tie on a chatterbait and hop it!
@@treboogie2976 Kayaks are probably on sale right now because they are out of season. I got mine at dicks sporting goods but bass pro/cabelas has them and also facebook marketplace is a place to check for a deal you never know. Idk about boats.
I live in Florida and yes it gets tougher because the bass go deeper but I have manage to still catch some nice bass with basic junebugs and flutes. During the summer the water was darker so I used darker lures and they attack. Now the water is lighter so I switch to lures with lighter/dark colors like a watermelon green/black, blue/grey with silver and blue glitter, light green top with silver and black glitter with white belly flutes and I catch them just fine. It’s the same for worm lures. I tried the wacky worm style and I just can’t get jiggly with it. For me when things get tough always result back to the old fashion way and don’t try to get fancy. There’s also a difference guys between really being out in the wild at natural lakes, ponds & creeks vs these private ponds I see in a lot of these videos where they intentionally reproduce the pond.
Excellent informative video Tyler your instructions are very clear and precise! For the beginner to the advance anglers they can adapt these techniques and strategies to catch more bass! Very appreciative and grateful you uploaded this content to help build my training to be a better bass angler! Tight lines take care and God bless!
I tried fishing with a drop shot for the month of November multiple times and haven’t succeeded yet, seems as I can o oh use spinnerbaits, underspins, crankbaits, jigs, or rage craws, I have yet to catch anything with a finesse technique, idk if it’s me or the locations I’m trying to. ALSO, need you to know you have turned me into an amazing angler, I just started late june or early July this year, and I’ve already got some 5 pounders on a jerkbait and jig. I really want to say thank you for these videos and please don’t ever stop, I’m absorbing or knowledge in an unbelievable rate due to the way you explain and show everything. BY FAR, the best teacher and entertaining in the fishing community
@ I’ve tried that as well, seems I’m more of a power fisherman than anything, caught all my fish with a jig, jerkbait, crankbait, spinnerbait, chatterbait, I’ve for real only caught like 2-4 fish with a worm or craw, no clue what I’m doing wrong
I tried going out a couple of weeks ago before all the ponds froze over around me, it was in the mid 20s. I found out pretty quick that braid was not a great choice as my guides kept icing up while retrieving. Made for a short day lol.
Something I have started doing within the past month is using putting a ned rig on and then tying a lure however far up so that the ned rig gives me the weight for a drop shot but but the ned rig actually has a lure on and not just a weight. I figure I can have two kinds or lures/rigs on 1 rod while also saving time. Then if I want to use a second pole, they are just dead sticked until I start giving it action again.
@@TylersReelFishing Haha sounds like I had a good idea then. I have caught fish with the black/blue ned rig in the summer. Now I am just waiting for my first drop shot catch. In the winter, I'm happy to catch something on any rig.
I have yet to catch channel cats, bass or panfish on anything the past 2 winters. I use anything from lures and nightcrawlers for bass and panfish to strawberry chicken breast and nightcrawlers for channel cats. Seems like somewhere in November or even late October here in Central Illinois, the bite just goes away.
I got fish this December, since it’s not officially winter, I am wet to catch a bass or striper in the winter 😂. Fishing has to be slowed way down to catch a fish.
So when fishing the dropshot, I noticed that the softplastic+hook still sinks so it doesn't stay suspended. Are you supposed to keep the rod tip up and keep slight tension on the line to keep the lure suspended?
No free rig or finesse jig in the line up?? lol Great info as always Tyler, I'll definitely will be looking into getting some lip-less cranks and some suspending jerk baits soon. Fish on brother!
You got a ghost in your house? At 2 minutes 03 seconds your rod inches toward you which I guess makes sense with you shimmying around but the bait caster reel also moves independently. What’s going on over there!?😂
Strike king has a contract with zman and zman produces those elaztech baits. The red fish magic sk swimbait is nothing but a zman diezel minnow swimbait. The "elaztech" mixture is patented by zman. It's a special tpe blend of soft plastic. I've actually heard that info from higher ups at sk and zman lol.
Though I'm in Florida, the water temp is dropping and you can tell the fish are getting lethargic. I used the Cue Bomb for the first time and started smokin em' when nothing else worked.
ive tried fishing with a jig and i have no luck ive probably made 100 casts on wood and no structure and dropoffs to creek channels idk what im doing wrong anyone got tips ive downsized dragged hopped stayed still anybody got tips or should i try using a ned rig ive never used one before. im on a somewhat muddy lake with no rocks and no plant life (i think)
I find it funny buuuttt, winter lures same as the summer lures same as the fall lures!! What's new? N O T H I N G! It's the same fish, they go after the same lures. Same same same ol thang!!
That's just not true. There is some overlap, but not in the exact way you fish it, and the locations in which you fish it. A texas rig WILL NOT outshine a ned rig or drop shot right now for 99% of anglers, due to the fish preferring smaller lures and not living in the places texas rigs are advantageous. And vice versa for warm months.

Same in Ga . I’ve caught more on chatterbaits than anything else this winter
Im in Ohio and since I kayak fish Im just stocking up on new lures and soft plastics and watching fishing vids on RUclips! 😂
Indiana… saaame.
I’m in Ohio too and I’m doing the exact same thing!
Bank/kayak fished my whole life. Looking to get my own boat or kayak soon where should I start?
@RealWorldPDRTraining me too. Muncie.

Dropshot and slow dragging a jig will usuall get you a few here in CA. I cant catch squat on a chatterbait. I always forget about the ned rig.
Hola amigo pescador 🎣 🎣 🎣 😄 excelente video traducido al español saludos desde la bella Puebla México 🎣 🎣 🎣 🇮🇹😊😊
Yes I’m a Florida Man and I Hi Five Roland Martin everytime I go fishing. And ten pounders are the smaller bass out here 😎👍🏽
You had me scratching my head in the intro lol, I'm a Floridian and I haven't caught squat this fall/winter
Love watching your videos so helpful

Keep on drop shotting
Once you get on a good bite you should catch numerous fish and you’ll be sold…such a blast
Tight lines
Try a wacky rig, my favorite finese period

The last time out for me I caught most of my bass on the ned rig, and I caught citation size yellow perch drifting medium minnows on my dropshot!
Editor Taylor doing the lords work
Indeed
I needed this so bad thanks you mr tylersreelfishing
I’ve been waiting on this video
I highly recommend using led wire on your jerk bait. I think 6th sense has some and you can get it at bass pro in the fly section
First comment I love you videos and I am also from Texas

I used a dremel to cut the bill square on my jerkbait. When retrieving it stays higher up near the water surface.
What size hooks are you using for the drop shot rigs? Are the sizes different for the bigger/smaller worm?
“Smack “ NICE 😂😂😂
its been getting cold in Florida and i cant catch crap rn tysm

Come to Oregon and fish these ponds and lakes I need the pro tips
Agreed! What part?
The spot you caught those 4 fish from is the exact spot I caught the 6 pounder I sent you. Exact spot with a drop shot 😅

what's the difference of a suspending jerk bait and a regular jerk bait

Ewg ned rig is as weedless as a Texas rig js and works just as good as a open exposed hook ned rig.
How to tell if it's a jerkbait is suspending jerkbait thank you for the information and hope you and your family has a very merry Christmas
It's usually mentioned on the package. If not, flip it out close to shore, crank it once and see if it stays at the depth it dove to
