Yes, Ariel is the one and only booktuber i see the entire bookhaul from start to finish without skipping parts. I could listen to her for hours. She is kind of a book super hero. Love you and your "about" = ) ******************************
Ariel Bissett my husband keeps saying he wants to move to Canada. If it wasn’t for grandkids I would say let’s go. We are in the states in South Carolina. Have a great night.
Since you seem so into graphic novels lately I'd like to suggest Heartstopper by Alice Oseman . I read the first 2 volumes a few days ago and they were the perfect summer read. It's a heartwarming m/m romantic contemporary story. Definitely recommend 🤗💖
laura deen is such a great graphic novel! it's quite polarizing i've noticed but i like the melancholy of the book and how flawed and true the characters are. it's a graphic novel that lingers whereas i feel like i've read a lot of graphic novels that i pass over easily then forget about immediately afterward

And it was a great book haul. I watched the video completely. I love your enthusiasm about books. Makes me want to write more. And the genuineness with which you share about your life inspires me too. Thank you. Great work. Keep posting.
I love Mosaic Books. Since the pandemic I've been trying to buy from them instead of chapters or Amazon. I love that they are willing to order in basically anything.
If you’re looking for YA featuring technology, I highly recommend How To Disappear by Sharon Huss Roat. I read it like a year ago and absolutely loved it. I plan on rereading it soon, but highly recommend!
ARIEL! I love your longform rambly videos that aren't curated to look super put together, it makes me feel more connected and involved so thank you! loved the video!
I love the aesthetic of the whole video! The bookshelves, your look, the lights, the warm, pinkish tint/light, your accent... EVERYTHING IS PERFECT AND SO COZY! 🙈
I first read my mum's copy of Lord of the Rings which is one giant book but he gorgeous artwork, and the maps (but not the appendix) and fell in love with it. Because I loved it so much my parents bought me my own copy but it's a set of 7 (the appendix is a whole separate book), and have very simple black and red covers; I have quite a few Tolkien books with similar covers and I do like that they match, but they are a little plain. While I prefer the one big book, I now have a chronic illness which makes it difficult to hold heavy books.
love the editing style of this! i always adore your book hauls, it feels like a chill hang out session where you talk about books youre excited to read!
I LOVE THE GOLDFINCH. It's one of my favourites of all time. At first, I was also intimidated by its length, but soon enough I realised I just don't want to put this book down... but it was very emotional for me on a very personal level, so I don't think this book will do it for everybody. Nevertheless, if you are more a character driven reader, I think you'll love it.
Ariel these are my favourite types of videos everrrrrr I love getting a snack and getting cosy and watching one of your long book hauls, you’re wonderful 💫✨
Oooh that Tillie Walden book looks lovely. I read On A Sunbeam a few months ago and it's a beautiful book, if you want the gorgeous art, colour and all, and can't wait until the new one comes out!
I am trying to explore all the book places here in NC cuz I also just moved here myself. Ioved being apart of the reading rush; I read two books but in my book that’s good cuz I was in a reading slump before startling but I can’t wait to be apart of it again next year. Love your Haul
I don't even read that much anymore (unfortunately) but your book hauls are so entertaining and enjoyable because you mention a lot of less known books that others on YT aren't talking about. I always feel inspired to read a few pages after watching your vids. So thanks!
I reallllly liked "Next Year, For Sure"! Such an interesting character study and so cool to see a book set in my hometown of Vancouver! I couldn't put it down until I found out what happened! Xo
Ooh lucy knisley! Im so happy someone is reading her books! If you’ve got time i would recommend reading the rest of her graphic novels :) also Devotion sounds really good!
Isabelle Allende. She has two books that I love, and the thing that I love most about her is the fact that I see stories that happen in Latin America in her books, I feel seen and as such we are not forgotten. I love her books, so if you haven’t read any of her books you should check her out, she writes in English as she does in Spanish too. 😊
Ariel Bissett Oh wow, that’s great. I read this past January Más allá del Invierno, it follows the story of a young girl from Guatemala, a 62-year-old lecturer from Chile and an American I think, living in New York. The book goes back and forth with each character from present to past, from Chile to Guatemala and to Brazil too. Really awesome. I’m currently in the midst of reading Largo Pétalo de Mar. 😊
Next Year For Sure is so good! I hope you like it! It is about a couple exploring polyamory. I didn't love it when I read it but it has resonated with me and I keep thinking about it years down the line. The main dude is a trash baby and I love Katherine with all my heart
I just read The Goldfinch last month and enjoyed it so much. When I saw the trailer I full on freaked out because it seems so spot on in casting and scenes. If you’re really interested in Emergency Contact you may love Landline by Rainbow Rowell
Emergency Contact and The Prince and the Dressmaker are two of my favorites! I hope you love them. Also, never apologize for your Canadian accent! Regional dialect and accents are fascinating in the age of digital and social homogenization.
I just started reading a couple of Hispanic/Latino authors...I read; Lost Children Archive by Valeria Luiselli...The Affairs of the Falcons by Melissa Rivero. I am not your perfect Mexican Daughter by Erika L. Sanchez and The book of unknown Americans by Cristina Henriquez. Enjoyed all of them!
I love watching your book hauls, it’s nice seeing a variety of different genres in your videos. Although I always end up adding more books to my already long tbr, I still love your recommendations
I just discovered (and immediately bought) those exact editions of LOTR at my local used bookstore as well and i love them!!!! Mine are much more worn down but they are so funky and the maps are gorgeous and ugh theyre great!
First of all, your new set-up is extremely gorgeous. Secondly, I actually just checked out Emergency Contact from the library today! I'm really excited because apparently it's set at the University of Texas, and I live in Austin, so I'm curious if they include any specific landmarks in the story.
oh !! i really liked my reading experience with "your house will pay" by steph cha, for all sorts of reasons; the insight that we were brought into through two different perspectives of these two separate families, how informative it was of the riots that occurred towards businesses, particularly some that were asian-owned, in the 90s, and how the author framed the characters whose perspective we were reading from. it was interesting to engage more in the relationship between minorities portrayed in fiction, in where Black- and Asian- Americans clash based on how they're perceived by the public. there was a lot to reflect from it based on my discussions for my lit studies course this semester, especially as we were talking about racial surveillance, and so it was important to understand the implications that come when small observations get blown into a bigger scale. and so ultimately, i respect steph cha for narrating this event from our recent history, and doing so very well
There were so many of the graphic novels that you mentioned that I just added to my tbr because they all sound so good☺️ I have read Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me and I definitely have some of the same thoughts as you 💕
im so happy to see books from ally carter's gallagher series in your shelves , no one talks about these books and i loved them when i was younger (still do), on a different note i havent read a book in maybe four months and im looking for something that might motivate me again 😆
I’m so glad you like Lolita but it was really painful for me to read ! I liked it once I understood it’s criticism of Freud but objectively it’s messed up 😂
I got my copy of The Goldfinch for free, but it did have the teensy weensy drawback that someone had ripped off both the front and back cover....shoutout to the library for letting me take a look at their damaged books?
I love when you do books hauls cause I love what's new and around. I do have to say though that I think I might be the only person who was bored out of my mind by The Goldfinch. For me, it was mostly the writing, not the story, that bored me, but I did have to read it for a novel writing class in college, so there could have also been that forced aspect that made me dislike the book as well. Which sort of brings me to a greater question I have that I haven't been able to answer for myself yet: how does one fall back in love with reading when something like University has spoiled or changed the experience into an unfun one? I've been struggling to get back into reading for 4 years and I still have no luck with it.
Please don't apologize for your Canadian about!
Yes! We love it!
Yeah it's so great, I smiled every time you said it.
She's so dreamy!
Patricia Maria Hmm, a Canadian politely apologising about their Canadian accent. There’s a joke in there somewhere 🤔
@@someonerandom8552 oh my, totally!
I would love it if you could do a tour of some of those bookstores you were talking about.
That would be awesome

oh, this is so cute, i wish someone could say that about my youtube channel
That's Margaret Falls in that postcard she gave you! It's a nice forest walk to get there, let's go!
I love your new set up! It’s so cozy and cute !
Thanks, Olivia!!
I know this shouldn't be my takeaway from this godsend of a video but...boyfriend?!
Haley Shea Hahahaha yes! I was like „Boyfriend? BOYFRIEND? TELL ME ABOUT YOUR BOYFRIEND“
Haha i tought the same 😂
It's the reason I scrolled to the comments lol
same
Yeah!
Omg I love your Canadian accent and “about” is my ultimate favorite like it’s your trademark. Why would you try to lose it?
Hahaha I would never! It was more of a joke apology 🙈
Ariel Bissett my husband keeps saying he wants to move to Canada. If it wasn’t for grandkids I would say let’s go. We are in the states in South Carolina. Have a great night.
YAYYYYY!!! Ariel you look so cute and I love your new shelves, such beauty! 😍

"The Goldfinch" might be my most favorite book! It's my favorite that I've read this year for sure!
Your giggle at 8:59 made me so happy 😭 it was so cute!

your bookshelves 😍😍😍 I have not even finished the video I love it already.
Next Year for Sure was my favourite book of 2018! It really surprised me and I still think about it a lot.
I read a book of Nabokov's short stories and they were amazing -- that's actually how I became a Nabokov fan! 👍
things we lost in the fire is amazing!!!! its kind of like magical realism meets horror? some real spooky stuff in there - but its incredible.
Really digging the shelves; love the look! Also love bookhauls, especially yours ;)
Don’t apologize for the “Canadian about” I think it’s great. You totally look like the main character in the Prince and the Dressmaker.

I loved The Prince and the Dressmaker! You definitely look so much like the main character.
