It goes without saying, but there's a looooooooooot of bangers in here. Ridge Racer R4 and UT99 were both childhood games of mine, and have phenomenal OSTs, imo.
This brings back such powerful waves of childhood nostalgia! I can vividly remember those afternoons in 1st grade, rushing home from school and eagerly firing up my trusty PS1. The cherry on top was the small CRT TV, accompanied by a pair of headphones, a relic from some economy flight of a long-forgotten airline. That whisked me away into a world of immersive jungle music and gaming adventures. Those were the days when time seemed to stand still, and the joy of playing on that old console was pure magic.
As others have pointed out, the videos of the gameplay are the icing to the eargasmic cake! I remember hearing Jungle/DnB as a kid through so many PS1 games, especially Ape Escape lol. Then I really fell in love with it when I listened to MSX FM in GTA 3. This era will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for putting this together :)

It was something else, games were made with so much love back in the day.
This shit low key straight fire. I’m only familiar with Ridge Racer, SF3 and Bomberman, but this music makes me want to be born back when the PS1 was prevalent
Any time I have any doubt, music like this just reminds me I can have a good time no matter what.
I wasn't alive during the time these games were made, but damn I just can't help but appreciate and adore them. Games back then we're on a whole different vibe. 😭
Respect I was though it was indeed a vibe
Because we didn't need online and the games were still being built for the fun factor out of the gate. No big budget to prove anything and dope music too.
@@XxLast__BossxX I already know that. Sad how many games are just cash grabs these days. I can only wish for games with more heart like these ❤️
@@nojoke449 I miss games with stages and there own unique music attached to them.
@@XxLast__BossxX oh so your just gonna hit it were it hurts huh?😭
What's your favorite game from back then?
the nostalgia and good memories and good vibes this brought back to me ... what an era to have lived through
Rage racer and ridge racer soundtracks are always immaculate. I was obsessed with Japanese techno and house for a while. This reminds me to delve into finding more new music!
No Return is an absolute BANGER. Takes me back to my clubbing days in the early 2000's. Fantastic mix!
It was one of my favorite Fifa Street 2 songs. I played the shit out of that game on my PSP. Good memories...
Ahh that R4 soundtrack simply cannot be beat imo. I listen to it damn near everyday!
Have you heard jpegmafia's sample of it? From the song called "bald!" It's petty dope finding out he got it from this
Obviously "Foregone Destruction" from UT99 will be on the list. What a track, what a game.
Best game
I remember the N64 Ridge Racer. Never have I ever sweated in my life trying to get first place with a low-tier car. Mind you I grew up on the old games during the early 2000s. I got to experience games that kids where playing in the 80s-90s. The Xbox 360 was out but all i can afford was the Original Xbox with emulators. I'm glad I grew up on, it gave me an understanding. Hell even the Sega genesis was entertaining. Back then all the kids had 360's while a select handful of us had the originals with emulators.
While you guys where playing COD4 Modern warfare. I was playing bomber man hero, and Chrono Trigger. Mind you where N64 and Super Nintendo games. oh and don't forget the emulated Arcade games.
I always like to play elevator action because the second one "Elevator Action Returns" has a two player arcade one that was always challenging for me and my brother. But in the end it was fun!
I remember when I was seven, eight years old and I discovered this kind of music. Every time I heard a dnb track I could feel -and still can btw- my heart racing from the state of mind that this new genre brought with it. A certain sense of spiritual enlightment, excitement for the things to come, to grow and meet new faces, discover amazing new places and play some fancy new games. Simpler, happier times. How I miss them.
Now at 40 watching this and listen to these track i know why in 2000 i have started to listen drum and bass. I didn't know then what it was. Tho this day i remember this tracks from unreal tournament, ridge racer, wipeout and many more. Thanks for this compilation
I don’t even remember hearing much of this as a child but I feel so much nostalgia listening to this. It’s crazy
I love how that works
This feels like one of old gaming channels from early 2000's, late at night when there wouldn't be any shows anymore just clips from games with music
Cinematechu on g4 at 2pm to 3
No surprise this has so many views! What a sick set. Feels so great to go back to this time. Thanks so much!!
Golden era for so many things.
Drum and bass will always be one of the greatest genres, wish theres was still a lot of it in games today.
love how our British sound travelled all around the world drum n bass/jungle forever
Agreed!
Wouldn't be the first time. The Beatles, then Synthpop, then Europop, the DnB...
@@sixstanger00 i'm aware of that fact.
also britsh pop invasion of the 60s and the british punk from the last 60s and 70s. its not special btw
@@VenomFrogPwned once again, I know. You're all failing to see the point, "pop" standards for popular it was music for the masses, I'm not surpised it traveled across the word, but jungle is under ground, street, club music etc it's more surprising to me that this sound did the same but none the less, makes me proud as a brit.
It goes without saying, but there's a looooooooooot of bangers in here. Ridge Racer R4 and UT99 were both childhood games of mine, and have phenomenal OSTs, imo.
20 years on and these choons still sounds like the future. Big love for the mix, brother ❤
30 years actually
nice PFP
Full on nostalgia overflow at 36:05! Such happy memories! ❤
Wow I’ve finally found the genre of music I’ve been trying to describe and search for, for months
great mix camaz, been listening to this shit constantly since the day you uploaded it
Thanks! Great to hear that, I'm currently working a few more mixes similar to this one, so hopefully they will also be to your liking :)
Find it so dank how the old school PS1 and other console games went with the jungle mixes!!! Even had the jamacian vox
Jungle & Drum and Bass FOREVER!! JUNGLE IS MASSIVE!
0:07:32 chills down the spine good
gosh i thought was alone!!! its the best song in this mix
@@mrkeepingitreal4927 By far!
So dope that Jpegmafia sampled it for his song BALD!
I really, REALLY miss the 90s ambient jungle game OSTs.
Loving this 90’s mix 🤓
Thanks mate, much appreciated!❤️
@@Camaz It feels a bit unfair to include tracks from Fifa Street 2 even though they are amazing
How in the nostalgic F are these bangers just, casually, from video games?!?! My mind is officially blown!!!
this playlist should be immortalized
I will keep this on repeat - CLASSick!!! Camaz awesome work man!
these catchy synths and beat make you go back in time to the good old days 😂
What an interesting era in gaming OST's
The greatest era for gaming OST’s.
Rollcage, especially Rollcage 2, will forever stay with me as one of the most fun racing games ever, and some of my favorite tracks ever.
DJ Marky & XRS, The Wizard - Fifa Street 2 @15:18 slaps!
You can tell this was a labour of love. Really great selection to jam to 💜
Wow that Bomberman Hero track gives me the nostalgia vibes and I never played that one. Great mix!
Wow, I'm crying now, with these sounds I remember many things from my childhood
'Made my day mix' you just can't beat a good dose of 90's nostalgia I love jungle / drum and bass from that era pure good vibes 🪄
We grew up partying and playing too this so many good memories 🫶
We didn't know how good we had it.
This music makes me feel minty fresh.
The 80s were super cool, but damn... The 90s were out of this world.
Games in the 90s had such good OSTs, the creators really dedicated themselves to the game and wanted to deliver the best product they could. We may have improved in graphics, but I don't know about the music.
Yo don't sleep on Extreme G 2's soundtrack. First game had acid techno, sequel was some seriously good jungle. I use a rip of the main menu theme to do soundchecks.
Amazing times, what a time it was to be a child.
The whole sci-fi/ futuristic look and sound peaked when The Matrix came out
Here before it blows up
i didn't had a lot of money growing up, so I only asked my parents for the PlayStation magazine every month. The girl in the thumbnail was on the cover of one PS magazine, and I was in love with her for a long time lol seeing this thumbnail just now got to my childhood feelings 🤣🤣
lol awaww😊
