Funny fact! In the book, the reason they were fighting every day was to find out who was going to 'top'. XD Zhou Zishu eventually let Wen Kenxing win when he was reminiscing about his parents and started crying. Yes, he pulled out the crocodile tears and don't act surprised that the King of Evil Ghosts deliberately cheated to get his way. lol
WKX would never let himself die and leave ZZS behind. He knew very well that ZZS would follow him anyway to the Netherland because at the time WKX faked his own death ZZS literally committed suicide. So basically there was no point in doing that.WKX loved ZZS too much to leave him behind just to suffer something worst than death. He would never hurt him this way. Also, he knew they can leave forever as long as they don't eat warm food so the conditions in that frozen mountain were perfect for that.

I don't know if anyone has already commented on this but in the last episode 36 they both said "ai ni" means "love you". At 37:08 in ep 36 Wen Kexing said "ai ni" and in the same episode at 38:32 Zhou Xu/Ah Xu said, "ai ni". If you will watch carefully their lips in these particular minutes of the drama you would be getting the hint that it has a happy ending because the transferring of qi will only succeed if the two people practicing it loved and cared for each other. I can't imagine how people would go crazy and screaming in satisfaction if the original script on the post- production was used but it was also toned down but during the filming, there are lines that are still used but redubbed because of censorship. But nonetheless, the production team still left some pieces for the audience to pick it up and figure out. Above all the production and scriptwriter really did a wonderful job even despite the censorship.
when i look at them at those times it's so hard to see, it looks like they're only saying one word/syllable each. I believe everybody though lmao, I don't know Chinese! they just moved their lips so subtly but perhaps that was necessary....
oh, another thing to point out. "Ru Ding" (translated as furnace) that you hear YBY mention during his voice over in ep 36 is a very common trope in wuxia/xianxia novels. The furnace is usually a "receptacle" for the practitioner...Usually when one wants to transfer qi energy with a furnace, it's done by sex! Haha....the director/scriptwriter thought no one would know about this old term, but ppl found out about it. So to avoid censor, they actually used a different character for "ding". It's pronounced the same, but has a different character. They avoided censor because of the nonsensical spelling of "ru ding". The entire team of WOH is very, very clever in their way of bypassing censor.
Yess in one of the video... someone explained that even the golden words surrounding them while performing the transferring of qi were "Giving Birth" I think this was planned... There are soo many Easter eggs in drama... Really loved it!!
"I am you and you are me." This is so true lol They are one soul, split in two. To be honest, instead of saying "soulmates", I would rather call them "twin flames" because you can have more than one soulmate but you can't have more than one "twin flame". Also, a twin flame is more meaningful and fits with WenZhou than a soulmate.
I just can't overcome the final scene. It is more than perfect. It makes me completely happy 😁. It is in fact the most romantic scene I have ever watched. Their expressions are everything, they look the happiest couple ever, and that metaphor of the light makes the whole sense of the story. I can't even put in words how it makes me feel. It is how absolute love must look like.
Good to know. I'm still at Ep 34. I just wanna drop by to give a quick opinion. I'm not gay but I like the romance between Xu and Wen. They seem happy together and it make me happy too lol. The other interesting thing I like is the bad guys, particularly the cool and cold-blooded scorpion leader and his entourage. They should make a separate TV show just about him taking on the Jin prince and trying to become the emperor lol. It would be so awesome to see how he assassinated and scheme his way to the top after toying with it prey. The most annoying group is Ah Xiang boyfriend. That guy can't act and he's a downer. Same for the guy who have a ex girlfriend who can disguised whoever she want. Memorable mentions. Ep 19 - 20 Training the student, happy moment between the the 2 friends. Nice green scenery and underground zombies. S1 ep 26 have a nice scenery of ancient Chinese building and a mixed of beautiful Sakura plants in the 4 season manor.
Oh thanks for this. I didn’t know the meaning behind the burgundy color and lighting up the two lanterns. This helps show that they truly planned it to be a HE for WenZhou from the start. And the switch colors clothing and being each other’s light were great insights also. I loved how clever the scriptwriter and the WOH team is to incorporate all these clues and meanings for us to understand what they’re trying to imply. I also loved how they gave us hints that WKX didn’t die by having the little boy practicing WKX’s dad’s swordsmanship, what his dad said about them fighting forever, and how Cheng Lin named his daughter. It’s very clever of them. And if people still have doubts, they even got the voice actors to voice over for the concert trailer saying that both are living on the mountain eating ice and drinking icy water for a long time. Happy ending and long live our immortals! Bravo to all the cast and crew of WOH 👏🏼

To be able to witness their love story is one of the best part of my whole life. I really learned a lot from them, and i'll keep them in my heart as long as I am living.

No one says WKX died in 36, his meridians are broken but he is not dead yet.

@@tinageekbeta I've heard 2 explanations - either this one, or the explanation that if both people in the process love each other in the same way, it won't cause death (i'm not sure about the breaking meridians part though?) I think that 2nd explanation has to do with what Chengling actually says in the end scene, before dubbing, based on lipreading some people did. And also may be based on some stuff with YBY and Changqing (?) but I'm not sure what was in the show and what is just from the book. my confusion is if WKX either didn't know he'd survive the combined 6 cultivation power thing, or if he knew the yinyang book could save him afterwards but didn't know he'd find it until they got there in the armory, I wonder what his plan was. He would already have evidence that ZZS didn't want to live without him, so to me it would have been weird if he had taken any chance that he might actually die while saving ZZS.

I admit that I didn't see the epilogue (yet), but your point about the Yin Yang Books -- which was in Zhou Zi Shu's hands at the time prior to practicing the Six Combined Cultivation technique -- would've given him the opportunity to cure Wen Ke Xing of his shattered meridians. The tidbits about colour choices for their clothes and the lighting of the lanterns outside of the library reinforce the perception that they both survived to live "happily ever after." I think it was because of the confusion between Eastern and Western Social Mores that the Director HAD to do the epilogue episode to help those confused with the thought of the audience being able to make their happily ever after based on the elements presented in the 36 episodes.
I have watch this drama 4 times within a month! When I see those two look at each other, i just can’t help thinking how much these two people can love and care for one another. It’s really heartwarming thing to see.
I keep thinking how cruel it would have been had WKX truly died - ZZS would've had to live forever without his soulmate, who died to save his life. When only days before, ZZS nearly killed himself to do the same thing. A never ending circle.
yes, i did think if wkx did the cultivation thing to save zzs, knowing he might die, but knowing zzs was dying BECAUSE he thought wkx died.... that wouldn't have made sense. some things still confuse me about the ending and wkx's fake death plot bc i don't know why he wouldn't have just told ZZS about it head of time 😅

Yes I was thinking the same thing but they keep calling themselves 'soulmate' so I just went along with it.
I just can't overcome the final scene. It is more than perfect. It makes me completely happy 😁. It is in fact the most romantic scene I have ever watched. Their expressions are everything, they look the happiest couple ever, and that metaphor of the light makes the whole sense of the story. I can't even put in words how it makes me feel. It is how absolute love must look like.

The other interesting thing I like is the bad guys, particularly the cool and cold-blooded scorpion leader and his entourage.
They should make a separate TV show just about him taking on the Jin prince and trying to become the emperor lol. It would be so awesome to see how he assassinated and scheme his way to the top after toying with it prey.
The most annoying group is Ah Xiang boyfriend. That guy can't act and he's a downer.
Same for the guy who have a ex girlfriend who can disguised whoever she want.

Oh thanks for this. I didn’t know the meaning behind the burgundy color and lighting up the two lanterns. This helps show that they truly planned it to be a HE for WenZhou from the start. And the switch colors clothing and being each other’s light were great insights also. I loved how clever the scriptwriter and the WOH team is to incorporate all these clues and meanings for us to understand what they’re trying to imply. I also loved how they gave us hints that WKX didn’t die by having the little boy practicing WKX’s dad’s swordsmanship, what his dad said about them fighting forever, and how Cheng Lin named his daughter. It’s very clever of them. And if people still have doubts, they even got the voice actors to voice over for the concert trailer saying that both are living on the mountain eating ice and drinking icy water for a long time. Happy ending and long live our immortals! Bravo to all the cast and crew of WOH 👏🏼

To be able to witness their love story is one of the best part of my whole life. I really learned a lot from them, and i'll keep them in my heart as long as I am living.

Chengling originally explained why WKX was not dead but that had to be dubbed over to sound ambiguous due to censorship. Lihue does not cause one to die, as long as they are soulmates they will live. No one says WKX died in 36, his meridians are broken but he is not dead yet.

Halfway-ish through ep 35, WYX kicks, then picks up the Yin Yang book from Healer Valley. He then hands it off to ZZS saying basically "here, this may be useful later." THIS (to me) IS LEGIT THE REAL ENDING THAT WE DON'T GET TO SEE (the writers hinting like crazy). This is how ZZS saves WYX ruined meridians :)
TIMELINE: YBY gives his combined-6-cultivation power to WYX after trolling him about having to sacrifice himself to save ZZS (look at YBY's smile there; YBY knows these two idiots "live and die together" so YBY knows that WYX won't die). WYX sacrifices himself to save ZZS so that ZZS now also has the combined-6-cultivation power. Before WYX dies (since you don't die instantly as the sacrifice as per another description in same episode), ZZS uses his combined-6-cultivation power to use the YinYang book to restore WYX meridians. So they are both alive and both have the combined-6-cultivation. :)
@@tinageekbeta I've heard 2 explanations - either this one, or the explanation that if both people in the process love each other in the same way, it won't cause death (i'm not sure about the breaking meridians part though?) I think that 2nd explanation has to do with what Chengling actually says in the end scene, before dubbing, based on lipreading some people did. And also may be based on some stuff with YBY and Changqing (?) but I'm not sure what was in the show and what is just from the book. my confusion is if WKX either didn't know he'd survive the combined 6 cultivation power thing, or if he knew the yinyang book could save him afterwards but didn't know he'd find it until they got there in the armory, I wonder what his plan was. He would already have evidence that ZZS didn't want to live without him, so to me it would have been weird if he had taken any chance that he might actually die while saving ZZS.

My kind of Resurrection. I love it. Damn, I miss WOH very much and to add blow to my already aching heart, Lovely Writer ended. UGH! I have enjoyed these past couple of weeks watching Word of honor and Lovely Writer's main leads journeys. It's going to be very hard to watch new BLs because Word of honor set the standards so high. I miss ZZH and WKX very much, but at least I still get to see them in the millions of videos posted everyday. I admit that I didn't see the epilogue (yet), but your point about the Yin Yang Books -- which was in Zhou Zi Shu's hands at the time prior to practicing the Six Combined Cultivation technique -- would've given him the opportunity to cure Wen Ke Xing of his shattered meridians. The tidbits about colour choices for their clothes and the lighting of the lanterns outside of the library reinforce the perception that they both survived to live "happily ever after."
I think it was because of the confusion between Eastern and Western Social Mores that the Director HAD to do the epilogue episode to help those confused with the thought of the audience being able to make their happily ever after based on the elements presented in the 36 episodes.
I have watch this drama 4 times within a month! When I see those two look at each other, i just can’t help thinking how much these two people can love and care for one another. It’s really heartwarming thing to see.
I keep thinking how cruel it would have been had WKX truly died - ZZS would've had to live forever without his soulmate, who died to save his life. When only days before, ZZS nearly killed himself to do the same thing. A never ending circle.
yes, i did think if wkx did the cultivation thing to save zzs, knowing he might die, but knowing zzs was dying BECAUSE he thought wkx died.... that wouldn't have made sense. some things still confuse me about the ending and wkx's fake death plot bc i don't know why he wouldn't have just told ZZS about it head of time 😅
