Blue pill is what keeps us from even trying to seek the Truth - our desires, pleasures, ego.
You might enjoy this video then. If you actually watch the movie, the blue pill is the only rational choice.
@@sgcarney"rational choice?" Do you realize it's a metaphor for platos allegory of the cave.
Matrix isn't literally about simulation theory😂
@@sgcarney I've seen all the movies, I agree with the original comment, I'd say also the blue pill also makes you forget.
Normies suck.
I'd assume the blue pill has a similar effect to what the agents gave to Neo after the interrogation meaning that he'd forget everything-Matrix and go back to a normal life
You’re on the verge of Advaita Vedanta here. The Indian philosophy (I will butcher this…) that states that if you can perceive it, it is an experience. And that all experience is not primary, because it is always in flux. Rises and falls, begins and ends. The only primary through-line through all experience is the experiencer itself - YOU. The Self. So everything that can be experienced is equally illusory - just a changing of the scene in the movie, appearing to YOU. The primary.
Interesting. My thoughts on consciousness are absolutely influenced by Indian philosophy.
What the hell was all that about? You give the impression of not having seen the movie or not having understood much of it... Also: I prefer the one with steak. 🙃😄
I take em throughout. 😜
Well said!
Thank you for posting.
Maybe you forgot the plot of the movie, but most of your argument is the reason why Cypher, one of antagonists in The Matrix, turned his back on Neo and the team. He explained that he wanted to go back into The Matrix and forget all about the real world because the matrix is better.
And the blue pill makes you go to sleep and they put you back in bed so you can tell yourself it was a dream. I had a dream they tried to get me out of the Matrix, but I took the blue pill and woke up.. And here I am!
Would people choose an awful reality or a nice dream? They aren't told that's the choice, they just know it's answers vs no answers.. Turns out answers are painful. That's a very real choice we all make in a few different ways every single day
Really good video man.
I enjoyed it. I don't remember thinking much about Zion being another simulation, though I do remember noticing the hint when Neo somehow disarms the weapons with his mind at the end of the second movie.. Is that ever explained?
The blue pill makes you forget the truth of the Matrix, that is, the knowledge you will permanently get if you take the red pill.
From a brain-based standpoint, which really means from a perceived conscious standpoint, we do live in a simulation of our body's creation. The problem is, taking any pill in this context is to ignore this. It's placing ideology or abstractions over reality and utilizing our faulty mental abstractions as though they're anything more than a faulty understanding based upon our faulty perceptions. We simply can't understand the nature of reality. Just our faulty misperceptions of it that is. Because we're simply too limited in what we can perceive.
Anyway, this argument has too many predication problems for me. Whilst I agree with the idea of us living in our own personal simulated reality, reality has to be accepted as existing in order to function within it. That isn't to say we need to understand or even have any thoughts on, or of, what reality is. It's to say we must drink water regardless of any thought we have about us being real or the world around us being real. Harsh truth of this argument. You stop consuming water and you will escape your simulation. Problem is, you're not going to be alive either.
Suppose it's a problem with the words and terms as well, as these things don't mean what they mean outside of this context.
Anyway again, it's no my job to tell anyone else what to think. That's on them themselves. Do wish we shared our simulated game I guess. At least at times. Kind of the biggest predication issue here for me. The idea that's shared when it's not. My simulation could be that of psychosis. That's a simulation I'd be seeking every chance to escape. I'm speaking from a pathological standpoint, or a clinical standpoint here. For some, their simulation is so haywire they're simply not even here in their heads with us at all.
good points here.
Well yeah, if the reason for the existence of the Matrix is to safe humankind, then you might not want to take the red pill. But if it's alien enslavement?
dont take pills bro.
Spectacular! Did you read Robert Wright’s “Why Buddhism is True”?
I haven't. But I've read a lot of Hindu and Buddhist theology
@@sgcarneyBuddhism is not a theology. It's a philosophy refined by 2500 years of genius.
What I gather is that the blue pill, as you phrase it, is advantageous to the party that is running the simulation. The ends that the simulation runner could be attempting to reach vicariously through your participation could be good... just like the way the prime reality could be good. When we're in hypothetical land it's just dreams vs dreams and both have the same weight. The ends that the simulation runner could be attempting to achieve could be, say, something downright sadistic like attempting to find out the quickest way to break a person. Helping that kind of ends occur, wittingly or not, is the same as waking up in a crappy prime reality from the red pill. If you take the red pill you could have the opportunity to ensure a simulation with a desirable ends in mind that you could cooperate with. In the case of the movie it's as though the humans are batteries for another collective entity's sustained existence. That's neutral, unless there's something primely bad about its sustained existence... or even good? We're still betting on prime realities, just in a different way.
Are you related to Michael Keaton by any chance?
Why taking any pill at the first place?
The blue pill is basically not a pill since it doesn't do anything.
If you don't take either pill Morpheus has to call the manager because that's not in the handbook
@@sgcarneySome people don't grasp the concept of metaphor. Trapped in literalness.
It's mental masturbation in a nutshell. We're really bad at understanding the world around us and it's a fleeting task at that. So, some get lost in their heads overthinking and oversimplifying everything to the point it's just a land of noises. Not really a fan of solipsism. Least of all in this context.
- Please take this pill, it will do nothing. But it is important that you take it.
- Seems legit, mr stranger.
Take the purple pill, that’s both combined
The simulation is the screen your locking on, because it affects your perception of reality.
The screen just reflects and shows you what your internal dialog and dream state are doing. It also can be used to control the internal dialogue and dreaming
@@Aquaticphilosophia do you control what the media is showing you?
@@SuperBjanka yes, we all control what we watch. Lmao.
Not sure if you ever watched Zizek's Pervert's Guide to Cinema, but he analyses the matrix and argues that he wants a third pill. This pill lets him see the reality IN the illusion rather than accepting the reality/simulation dichotomy. I forget what his point was.
Red Pill in this world.
Carney sounds like Mr Reagan in the film. 😮
Take the blue pill! No jacket is worth that!
Only one "prime reality"? Are you sure? Explain Van Goughs Starry Night? Could it be that there is more to consciousness than can be contained in your philosophy?
Given that we haven't created a universe simulation yet we're either the last of the simulations chain (very unlikely) or the simulation hypothesis has only a 50% chances to be true
We're pretty close though. AI is getting insanely advanced.
WHOOOOOOO-berman
*BUT* you're asking to take the red pill by virtue of this inquiry, Scott. What makes you qualified to take my red pill? You're the Neo of my story? Neo crashed into a metaphysical wall and was told: follow the white rabbit. What wall did Morpheus promise he'd help Neo crash through? Therein lies the ruse. Morpheus knew. What if God and the angels existed in that reality? Why shouldn't the red pill have taken Neo that far? Perhaps Neo was just bored. That's what makes the story so relatable. Don't be mad, Scott. I feel scammed every time I take the red pill too.🤷♂
Ok. Maybe I'll just take all the pills and see what happens.
@@sgcarney That's literally what I figured.🤣Palming a handful of red pills, lol. I didn't give you the real one, btw. Only a placebo...✌
I hate to break it to you, but I'm afraid you didn't quite grasp... hm, where to begin... maybe start by reading Guy Debord's 'Spectacle'...?
You dont know what you dont know.
Liking this comment though it's not correct. You may wish to visit or revisit Voltaire's works on the subject matter; Known knowns, know unknowns, unknown knows and unknown unknowns. Comment isn't so much for you as those reading it as they may take it too literally.
One true reality ? How do you know that to be true ? Where is the evidence ? Where is the proof ? Could you show us .
Red pill for me.
We aren’t supposed to have admin access to our own brains. We’re suppose to just experience and intuit the world without knowing how our brain works.
According to Dr Hoffman if you see through reality you and your ancestors would not survive in his game theory simulation. So I am guessing that he would probably agree with you, but for different reasons. If you’re not familiar with him, his lectures are all over RUclips.
I ve taken the red. Since then my life has changed. I know I live forever. The Matrix seems being here but does not exist for me. Really an illusion 🆓
And what reality did you wake up to?
