So true
hey its you!
I mean Tony Hawk has broken like 50 bones in just 20 years... Breaking a wrist isn't that bad.
It’s that cult energy
Nah g, this ain’t just Aaron explaining how he broke his wrist. It’s Aaron hyping me up for vert, get well soon
Same! I'm ready to get out there, except I ain't got no there to get to.
What
Not EVEN* him explaining how he broke his wrist--because he prob didn't even break his wrist? Now I remember why nobody except morons and little children watch this channel. Almost 26 mins of wasted time about fking nothing...
I own a skateboard because of braille giving me the confidence that I can actually do it, despite starting at 27 years old. A lot of the time I worry about how I look, being older but very incompetent, but then I look at braille and how supportive they are of new skaters no matter who they are and it gives me the strength and courage to do it. Thanks Aaron, thank you all members of Braille, you have given me more than you think. I hope you can continue to do what you want to do for as long as you want.
Keep at it !! Im 35 now started skateboarding at 14 and stopped at 26. Because of braille im so motivated to get back on the board after 9 years of not skating. Dont worry about how you look because we all started somewhere and we only get to where we want to be by putting in work. Thank you braille!!!
dont worry about how you look man , theres older people at my local skatepark all the time. tbh more than half of the people at my local skatepark are 30-40
34 here man. Havent skated since 2004. Just dug out my old world set up. Just Did a kickflip aftet about a week. Not rolling but still
Man, I am literally in the same shoes! I am 27 as well, just started yesterday. Got my Braille Complete skateboard, because I wanted to support them for inspiring me to pick it up. I am worrying as well about how I look, but I guess that's just in my head. Watching these videos will inspire me to keep going!
🙌🙌
I used to skate flat ground and street when I was a teenager. I learned how to skate vert for the first time when I was 15. One day, I was doing great all day. I broke my wrist on the last trick before I was about to leave. That stopped me from skating again at that time.
Today, I’m 37 and just started skating for the first time since that day, 22 years ago. Your videos have inspired me to keep at it, and get back to where I was as a teenager. If I had only had these videos as a kid!
You’re a great dude, Aaron keep it going. SEND IT!
braille army inspired and encouraged me to go down the quarter pipe and my hip still hurts but i’m determined
Amazing🙌🙌
everytime I get the confidence to go down and I'm skating to the park something messes up either a bearing breaks the parks locked up or my wheels messed up
@@itsdakota6442 or you hit a crack
I just did it for the first time successfully the other day
Nice
That early JD footage is adorable AF. Also, Aaron Kyro is a gift to the world of skateboarding. Thank you for all of it.
I broke my wrist when I was 10 by skateboarding.
Note to self: Don’t go down a steep hill when your just learning how to stop-
😂
Just gotta learn how to fall. 😂
know a guy who hit a stone going down hill FAST, he broke nothing, but he had road rash all over one side of his face, his shoulder, hip, knee and ankle, one of his glasses was too scratched up to even see through and he even tore some of his hair out when he hit the ground.
Lol thats the thing i did the day i got my first board
I've done that and i fell😂😂
The vert skating is a HUGE reason I came back and started watching these videos again. Something super new and interesting. Stay strong and keep pushing skating!
Same here. I kind of lost interest in the channel for a long time. The new Aaron and Ricky learning the vert series has pulled me back. So cool.
Title: let me tell you how I broke my wrist
Aaron: let me tell you about my whole childhood and also how the warehouse was made
Also that he’s a sponsored skateboarder from the Bay Area
watching this footage here, of JD skating various bowls, he is even BETTER than what we have seen. the kid is the TOTAL package.
🔥🔥
@@braillearmyplus1497 I apologize for commenting so much, I need to get a life lol
Been watching Braille since I got my board last week after returning to skating after a 10 year hiatus. Super excited to go to the park for the first time tonight
Hope youre still skating, man!
People quit when they fall. I mean you fall a lot but you can stop for the day. I was longboarding and when i fell i hit my head and arm. I went to the ER room because my head was bleeding. I didn't quit skating or longboarding but i did stop for a week so I could heal. And that's ok to do. Just don't quit. Take time to heal but don't quit.
Never quit lovin it💪
Did you got a helmet on that day?
Needed to hear that thank you!
I know several people that broke their neck playing football when they were a kid, then people have the nerve to tell me that skateboarding is to dangerous
Anything is dangerous if you can't do it properly

Right. Lots of people wear blinders. ;D
Wishing you a speedy recovery Aaron, but like a lot of people have been saying here, it might be time for ya'll to start "mastering" the tricks you have already learned. I don't think a brand new trick is required for road to vert, but maybe 3 rock and rolls in a row, getting more comfortable with backside air, aiming for 8 inches of backside air, etc. It may help you overcome some of the initial fear as well, feeling relaxed and comfortable is key in any high performance situation.
I started skating again because of you Aaron I started one year ago now I am 20 and progressing all because of you Aaron
I broke my hand a week ago, which was exactly a week after I bought my first skateboard! Seeing this and seeing you be so positive is really encouraging. I planned to keep going even after they told me it was broken but my mom and alot of other people said things like " I hope you learned your lesson" and " you started too late so youre just going to keep hurting yourself" and I was really discouraged, but watching you guys have so much fun and keep high hopes has made me feel so much better so thank you so much!!!
I do have to admit this is the most determined I’ve seen Aaron in a long time
Keep on keeping on aaron, every since you started your vert journey the content has been more skateboarding and less “we need to make a video” ideas and im grateful. Plus Gabe hasnt been yelling as much which im also thankful for
Don't let it stop you from skating. Get back and conquer that vert once you heal. I broke my arm on a blunt to fakie 15 years ago and I'm still shredding hard!
🔥
Braille is doing gods work!
When i was growing up skateboarding was looked down upon, braille is 1 of the reasons skating became excepted and mainstream. Love u guys!!❤️

J.D. is such a well rounded kid , his parents keep him grounded , great Parenting . You guys at Braille don’t let your wile side rub off on him , ok maybe a little bit . Push him, encourage him , learn from him .

You guys got me skating again after at least 5 years. It's such a great experience skating

I hope you're still skating, man!
December i broke my elbow. I'm 42 and started to skate 2 months prior. I was practicing skating fakie. I'd roll up to a ramp and then come down fakie, trying to get used to that feeling. i did it about 10 times and was getting comfortable and the last time i was stiff legged. Hit a rock and got tossed, wasn't even going that fast. If i would have been faster i would have rolled over the rock. Because i was backwards and had no clue how to fall that way i put my arm out to brace myself and boom. I had wrist guards on so that saved my wrist, which would have been worse to break than an elbow. So i'm lucky there. I can't wait to get back on the board, the weather's getting nice so i'm getting the itch. This channel has always been an inspiration. : )
Much love!🙌❤
@@braillearmyplus1497 P.S. Heal quickly Aaron!!
I’ve now broken both of my arms and your vids inspire me to keep skateboarding.

Vert is a beautiful thing, it has been a couple decades since I rode a vert ramp but I'd love to get fully padded up again at 41 and try getting back the tricks I used to have on vert, we have a mini ramp in the village I live in but I find mini ramps hard to skate, I can't get any proper air out of the ramp because there is no vert on it at all.
Heal up soon Aaron and get back to learning vert, I have been following this channel for years and always wanted to see a vert skater in the team, and now we have JD and a bunch of you actually pushing yourselves to learn tricks on the ramp, it's really amazing to watch, though I could be biased because vert is my favourite type of skating to watch.
Keep it up man.
Screw Iron Maiden, blast Led Zeppelin's Achilles Last Stand, you seem to always get hyped up when you hum that tune!!! 😀😀
No... The best thing is that you don't have a leg... Get well faster ! !♥♥♥
Loved the video Aaron! You have succeeded many times over at getting random people who never thought they would to skateboard, I'm one of them. Keep up the great work!
Aaron: “so here’s how I broke my wrist... MANY years ago, when I was 10, me and my operation Ivy shirt.....”
That was my injury! 54 yo coozer never skated. Came from surfing, started skating on a surfskate 2 years ago. Loving dropping in and pumping small bowls. Certainly had my lumps long the way. Only in a tight 5 foot bowl got across the flat bottom, slammed the other side. Didn't know what happened until I saw you do it! Bend zee knees, ya! 3months down and still can't flex my wrist without pain. TOTALLY agree with feel the fear, baby steps, build confidence and THEN progress. How is the recovery?
hope you are okay bro as a vert aggressive skater I felt that fall.
Man, watching your videos is so inspiring. I really wish there was a channel like your for blading.
This was a great video, HEALTY FEAR!
You are truly inspiring dude. I'm 32 and getting back into skating thanks to you.

Yo Braille is doing great and I’m super happy for you guys. Been watching for years and you guys have continued to progress and give give give back to skateboarding and constantly being creative. Very inspirational.
Speedy recovery bro.
You'll get that backside air! I feel like after a big bail or long break from sk8ing you come back stronger and more progressed then where you was when you was 100% .. its weird and I can't explain it. It's just that mental game that comes with sk8ing and the body finally syncs and you just do it!
Hey Aaron, 28 year old lady here whose skateboard was largely sitting in her garage for several years picking up dust. You and Braille really helped me get hyped about skateboarding again, and it’s been such a great way to spend the summer of 2022! Thanks for the help and hope you recover quickly!
Noooo Aaron! Dude hope your ok.😁
Hi Adam all the way from Newcastle NSW Australia bro! 👋 Wishing you well and for a speedy recovery mate.
I absolutely love watching you learn vert bro. What you have created there my friend is one of the best things I've found on the net!
I used to skate passionately from 7-17....... Now im 48 this year and I find myself relearning vert after over 30 years off and thinking I was retired from sk8ing.
So yeah im experiencing the fear factor and progressing through that slowly as you are. Lol SO Godspeed to ya Adam. Can't wait to see you get those backside airs real soon champion!
Great to see Andy Mac's explanations and insights. Possibly see if the laid back characters of Stevoe Cab or Lance Mountain could come join in!? More older legendary rippers to inspire.
Oh! And JD teaching Andy Indy's was excellent viewing!
Seeing that 'AA' is human! and not some sort of a robot like Nyja. Lol
We heard exactly WHY he finds vert so challenging? The whole Canadian non- vert thing........
Yep your surroundings most certainly shape your sk8ing style and direction. Just as much as the decade you started! ........ 1980 baby! ✊
As much as you enjoy motivating and teaching younger groms. I hope you also understand Adam? That your ALSO helping bring old dudes like me BACK to it! 💣💥 👌👍🙏
I find it all interesting and inspirational so I thank you all. Used to be Sk8 or die?
Now I'm thinking it's Sk8 till ya die......... 🤘🥳😎🤙

Wrist guards my friend. Mine can't take the punishment anymore and even though they look goofy, life saver.
Seen a pro for a protection brand actually wore one. He do all kind of skateboarding.
Yes wrist gards would probably have saved him from that injury. They're not very pleasant to wear but it's worth it.
Aaron Kryo is a truly inspirational human being! Thank you for getting me into skating and continuing to push yourself! It helps me to continue my own journey❤️.

Man, when I saw this on Instagram and at the beginning of this video I was so afraid Aaron would give up skate vert. I love watch him at vert. So glad he's not quitting. Can't wait for this backside air 2 feet high!!!
Its awesome that JDs dad was the one who convinced you to build the vert ramp. Dude really wants, no DEMANDS the best for his son. I respect that a lot.
Same. Makes me wonder if the dude skates himself & really want to see him try
Take it easy my friend

I’ve broken both my wrists like 5 times so I feel the your pain
That is amazing Aaron! I am so happy you are learning something new and having so much fun with it! Extremely inspirational. You have inspired me a lot and it was amazing meeting you and the team in 2019. As a 35 yo it gives me a lot of courage. Hope you heal soon and wishing you the best of progress and success!! Loved the way you talked about learning vert like being a kid again. As a 58 year old who picked up skating again two years ago I get that a lot. I also never hit transitions without the usual gear, plus padded shorts, padded shirt, and of course wrist guards. At one time or another they have all saved me and allowed me skate another day.

Ist day skateboarding after 12 years
I DID A WALLRIDE, TO TRANSFER OVER A WALL EDGE TO DROP IN, THEN A FRONTSIDE SLASH, ALL TO AVOID HITTING A ROLLERBLADER. THAT FELT SO AMAZING. IVE been skating for 6 months now, and still cant re do it.
Amazing dude!!🔥🔥
I love you guys. I was at my local park yesterday reading a book watching the skaters. And I dont have a board but I eventually went up and asked this guy if I could try a couple tricks and he said yes and he cheered me on every trick I tried and landed. And my comments to build a vert ramp for the last 2 years didn't matter? Thanks A aron
Null sweat, Kyro! Take your time and let that wrist heal up. You'll get those airs dialled and unlock a whole new level of confidence in the vert ramp in no-time.
The irony is the fear is always about being in air, being on vert, hanging up or landing on flat.
yo thx for inspiring aaron for never quitting

This is the most inspirational video I have ever seen on youtube! Get well soon Aaron! I still have to use the snowskate where I live, but I'll make sure the skateboard is ready to go whenever the snow melts. :)

if gabe was a true friend he would break his wrist dropping in just to show the solidarity.
I remember a couple months ago when i bought my first board. I decided to go down this hill and i realized i wouldn't be able to turn so i bodied on the grass instead of the sidewalk thankfully. Fast forward 2 or 3 months and i think its nothing now. I can now comfortably go 15mph on my longboard but I'm decided to stop going faster once i can reach 17 or 18mph just to avoid any injuries or failures if my board slips out. Get well soon Aaron👍🏼
Nice! Love the lesson you learned!
Hi Aaron, I'm learning to longboard (slowly) at 53 and find your videos really inspiring. I am really a doctor, so if you want to send me a high-res scan of the x-ray, I can take a look for you. I should be clear, however, that my doctorate is in cultural studies, so my advice won't be worth s**t.
I recently started skating some vert and it is so much dang fun! Glad to hear you're not scared off!

I absolutely love your passion! It's very inspiring to hear your point of view. I'm just getting into skateboarding for the first time ever. I'm a bit scared but I'm trying to be brave lol. Anyways, I sincerely wish you a speedy recovery! Get well soon!!
This was refreshing.
Had some heavy falls last week so this week feeling like I've got a cracked rib, weird swelling on my hip, back aching and feeling old. Did drop into to the 9ft quarter pipe at the local park for the first time though after being inspired by a 12 year old girl dropping in. Thanks for the encouragement to keep at it. Heal up dude, sending up a prayer for you 🙏
Go on you have potential
Heal quick dude, your commitment to learning new skills is inspiring.

I’ve done that before, at Woodward I was skateing the F bowl with only a helmet I went really fast into the f bowl and went straight into the wall and hit my face and shoulder luckily made it out with a big hole in my elbow and knee, btw the first day at camp. Then the rest of Woodward everyday I got injured everyday, sprained my wrist, opened up my scabs from injuries, other stuff, but still Woodward was the best.
Skating is the best, even when injured 😂
When tps2 came out I fell in love with skateboarding. When I moved out to LA to make movies I kinda forgot about it. But last Christmas my brother got me a new board from Brail and we finally went to a skatepark last Sunday (first time in almost 7 years!) . The legs were wobbly but remembered the form and I cant wait to go back. Love watching your videos and thanks for the inspiration!
His street skating came into focus, because that's what you usually do when street skating..
I love the story telling. This video is so cool. We need more story time type of videos like this
Once you learned a trick you want more. Thank you for inspiring many of us included me that I don’t skate.

8:05 really funny you say that, I got like really secure on my nollies now. And that was the trick where I messed up almost all my ligaments with, in my ankle. On flatground. After doing them all day. So I guess that goes for all of skateboarding. It's just a ''finicky'' sport. and with that you can be as experienced as you want but you can still get surprised and comes with ups and downsides of course.
This is the earliest i've been and im so sorry to hear this
