- With the 2023 Open Championship at Royal Liverpool Golf Club just weeks away, I got to play their new 17th hole with Links Manager James Bledge.
For the 151st Open Championship, the best players in the world could play this hole as short as 120 yards in length! What do we all think? I'd love to hear your thoughts! Also please let me know what videos you'd like to see on my channel. We have so many videos coming soon.

I also must say loved how you were describing the wrong hole you could tell you didn’t love the hole then he shows you the right hole and you had this look like oh that makes much more sense. Just made me love the video and your attitude so much more. Hope to see a lot more content from you.

I was sat on 17 today, this hole is brilliant now hitting into the wind off the sea and all that run off. Spectacular view 👌🏻

I can confirm this hole is a beast, I played it a month or so back, hit a decent shot in, wind and slope took it into the left side bunker, I took 15 to get down!!! make sure you have a 60* in your bag, that bunker is seriously deep!!!! 🤣

This is a great design for am Open Championship. The Course is suppose to be a test of golf for the Pros and it is.
I'd definitely miss that green more times than I land on it. One for the professionals.
If that was on our course, I would think those gardens are going to get their fair share of golf balls.... but perhaps NOT in the Open!

played Royal Liverpool a few times in the wirral golf classic and outside the competion played under the handicap on the front nine twice

This is why courses, even at Tour level, don’t have to be 7000+ yards long. Just throw in a couple of tricky par 3s. IMO (having not asked everyone 😂) spectators would rather see an artistic wedge into a P3 than the Pros smashing a 4 iron 230. At the US Open, was there not a 290 yard par 3 ? I get the skill required to hit a green from 290 or get up and down is immense but it’s not as subtle!

Great looking hole, but not quite sure about having so many fairway bunkers that short of what is such a short hole, doubt they will actually come into play very often?
I will go on thinking that gilf courses shouldnt become longer and longer fir todays and future pros. It will be a question of design. This hole is an example. Less than 100 yards becoming so difficult.

300 Sq Mts? Do you mean 30 Sq Mts by any chance? 300 is a pretty big area. Nice hole though. It might be short, but that green looks really tough. Good challenge for the Pro's.
17.3 m x 17.3m isn’t a huge green…which is what it would be if it were square. It has run offs and will be firm, so I’d say that’s a tough green to hit.
Beautiful tough hole but still too short for these pro's.
It's 136 yards. Pebble Beach has a 106 yarder and Augusta has a 155 yarder, which has a far bigger green.
136 yards onto a tiny elevated green, exposed to the estuary's swirling winds, sounds plenty long enough to me.
