We have definitely come a long way from where Pokemon was at the beginning of the Pandemic. With the competitive TCG being forced to go into hibernation due to leagues and public areas closing, the Pokemon TCG became a hobby focused solely on the collecting side of the cards, and very little attention was paid to the competitive game. However, 3 short years later, and competitive Pokemon is thriving. With record numbers of attendees showing up at Regional events, International events, and even Local Leagues, the Pokemon TCG seems like it could never be in a better space.

These types of videos are by far my fave cuz everyone knows about the collector's chases but very few probably know which cards are the meta player's chases. Love this type of information because I don't have the time to look at every card from every set in rotation to figure out which meta cards are doing well. Thank u! Awesome video as always

I got back into collecting in 2019 and started actually playing in may. I play every week and you’re right. It brings a whole new level of joy to opening packs. I get so stoked to pull a common or uncommon I need. Great stuff Danny

Started playing the tcg for the first time some weeks ago after "just" collecting for years, and gotta say, its realy fun 😃
I found good way to deal with some of my bulk. I'm not a collector, but a player and... an artist. I am using pokemon cards and turning them into extended illustrations. I am painting them by hand and selling. I'm still a small artist, so i'm not making much, but it's something.

One thing I did (as a collector and some1 starting To play!) I buy products with cards I need + packs (like roaring moon box) like Trianer tool kits the Price per pack isn’t AMAZING but it’s great when I value the cards because I’m going to use them
I've never seriously played, but understanding the mechanics of the game has definitely helped me appreciate some cards.
I’m struggling through paradox rift. The pull rates are so bad on the non booster boxes. I haven’t pulled anything. I think I gotta stick with booster boxes moving forward. The more consistent pull rates are a must to try and get something out of it.

Not sure if collector fatigue is what's stopping a large percentage of people from buying cards anymore, I think it's the 4.99 that packs now cost at pretty much any retail location.
I have about 18,000 bulk cards that I want to dump too, and local shops are offering me 5 bucks for 1,000 cards (no matter the rarity)
I would buy 2000 cards for 20 bucks if you are willing to sell haha

When I start feeling fatigued all I do is switch to a different tcg like dragonball super! Also sports cards are great too, however, I would just stay away from opening retail products if you want to throw away money.. I would focus on hobby boxes and such and singles 👍🏼

i’m too lazy.. lmao. i have all my bulk saved from when i started collecting in 2020 all in tens of ETBs, and those ETBs are in big plastic tubs lol.

Yea idk many shops taking a ton of copies of cheaper trainers anywhere near price unless they are able to move those cards which most are not. If they are they only do by getting those cards at bulk price but I am yet to find one that does anywhere near decent on bulk cards for anything other than bulk
I took my copies of regeleki vmax for credit and they understood the market that it was going to go down and wouldn't buy at value

Hey Danny (or anyone who sees this and has an opinion) if I were to sell these playable bulk cards, is it better to sell them in sets of 4 (is that what's referred to as a playset? I don't even know what that means, haha) or is it better to sell them one by one?

Throw a couple ex or v cards or better in some packs of bulk and charge 25 bucks. 60 bulk cards and 3 cheaper ex

Yea worst pull rates in a while, not worth the money to buy for me.
Dude, I feel ya. I opened 8 PC ETBs and only got 21 hits. That's one shy of a two BB average and I had 16 more packs than 2 BBs. To add insult to injury, I didn't pull a single SIR and only 3 IRs, smh. That initial rip completely soured this set for me.

@@nevercold808idk man. People complained when hit rates were bad like back in SNS era. But when they made hits easier to get in SV01-SV03 people said it ruined the markets... now they reduced the hit rates again we have complaints again... i guess they just really cant please anyone 😂

I love collecting and have been wanting to get into playing the game at in person events, but I really dislike the current meta. I've been playing online since the early sun and moon era and this is the least fun it has been in my opinion.

I'd start selling my bulk on eBay... But with the changes to tax brackets and PayPal "income" being taxable at such a lower threshold... A bit daunting.
