The dude has his own store and doesn't advertise in videos he discusses and analyzes trends of the products he sells. He might be the most selfless person on the internet. I would totally buy from him and trust his prices if I knew where to buy. Thanks for being such a a great dude Danny
I stopped buying sealed product years ago, but Crown Zenith got me into opening packs again, then 151 and Paldean Fates made me realize I was wasting my money again. I’ve gambled hundreds of dollars on ETBs and box collections and booster bundles on these two sets and haven’t pulled a single “money” card, or a single good playable staple card. Back to singles for me…again.
Very informative video! I'm a huge pack opener, so the "fun cost" is something that's very important to realize. To be able to spend as much as I do in this hobby, I sell on eBay/TCGPlayer and play at my local card shop. Adding those things to this hobby, for me, makes it so much more fun. I would encourage more people to play the game. At first I was unsure about it, but now after about a month of playing its totally changed what this hobby means to me and in a good way.
Hi Danny!!! This vid was great! If you're willing to do one for S&S, that would be lit, too. Especially with packs for sets like ES, CR, and FS steadily rising now, it'd be interesting to see what the numbers look like. I, too, loved ripping Paldea Evolved until recently I opened 24 sleeved boosters. 13 on one day and 11 a week later. I only got 2 pulls... an Arctibax IR from the 13 and a Pikachu ex from the 11, haha. REKT
Great content Danny. Love this data comparison to give us an idea of what makes the most sense to open. Of course, people will also consider their own preferences for chase cards, but this list is very helpful to make the best decisions.
Thank you for this! Would love to see an intro video to deck building in 2024 and maybe even some tips on what to generally look out for in a deck? Thank you for all you do!
Great video. Great info. A bit depressing to see how much the values have dropped. It would be very interesting to see this done again in 6 months when Paldean Fates and Paradox Rift sets are a bit older. I think 151 might hold, but I reckon the other two will fall. I’d also love to see the SwSh data.
I'd be curious to see how Crown Zenith stacks up. My LCS has $7 packs of 151 so still about a 50% expected loss but I may have to grab a booster bundle or 2 next time they're on sale
I want to start collecting English 151. The packs are around £6.80 The ultra premium is £109 . I read not to buy single packs as they can be weighed, is this true? I’m thinking the safest way is to buy sealed ultra boxes? Thanks
Imo it's paldea evolved and 151 even with the tougher pull rates. You can get 12-14 hits out of the other sets yet the hits be worth a $1 a pop. Only other set that seems to have held some value is Paradox Rift as well since it has quite a few playable cards. Worse base, 2nd obsidian. This is my prediction
Hey Danny, one thought I had that would be interesting, is to give an example of the range of outcomes for these kind of videos. So for example, if you are expecting on average 1 SIR per box, you show the value with hitting the lowest priced SIR and then the highest priced SIR. I think what would make this interesting is it can help show when some sets have a pretty predictable range of outcomes, like lets say Scarlet & Violet Base set, where most things are closer in value, versus 151 where the difference between the charizard and Giovanni is massive. I just think it would be fascinating. Thanks so much for your work and information you put out!
Some LGS still charge over price based on the market instead of selling it at msrp. I’m glad Pokémon isn’t pricey like one piece where it’s over price from scalpers and LGS
S&V is so much fun. About to rip into my second SV1 booster box, and I’m super excited... ...after finishing this video, I'm realizing that it's definitely time to stop breaking and start buying singles. No regrets. Still a fun set. 😆🤣
Came back to this video after opening my first ever Booster Box (usually go for tins/bundles/ETBs or loose packs). 9 hits from Paldea Evolved and no SIR in sight. 4 EX, 2 Full Art trainers (Falkner and Saguaro), Mismagius and Grafaiai IR and a Golden Super Energy I wasn't looking for profit but at least hitting an SIR, or a 3rd IR. Man it's kinda put me off buying booster boxes honestly.
Thanks so much for an awesome video! Would love to see a breakdown of the Sword and Shield sets like you offered. Also, do you have any info or insight you can offer for those of us who like collecting master sets but want to know the right time when to transition from buying packs to picking up singles to complete the collection? I’m sure there’s an analytical way to find the sweet spot but wanted to ask a reputable source. Thanks!
151 is just an amazing set top to bottom. Even most of the reverse holos are selling for over $1 on average so hands down the king of SV era so far and IMO it will stay that way continuing its climb as time goes on!!! Love the content presented here. I'm a data junkie and use it to determine what I buy as I like the idea of increasing my odds of pulling value from my packs! Thanks again for being so honest and open to anyone of like mind
Man. I'm still grieving over Obsidian Flames. Cool individual cards, but lacks an internal theme for me. It's just a bunch of charizards mixed up in a very random set of Pokemon. SV Base was the legendary set, Paldea Evolved was the starter set ... but OBF? They could have done something with the fire/dark theme but nah. Instead, we get ... Tera Vespiquen and Eiscue? Who asked for this?
Appreciate you showing all this data, definitely surprised that paldean fates is still so high but maybe it needs more time for prices to continue to settle
I just got back into the hobby after like 15 years.. but this video makes me feel better about the fact I ordered a japanese box of 151 last week without knowing anything other than those are the pokemon I fell in love with as a kid 😂😂😂
Your dedication to the hobby is insane Danny! Love the analysis, the data, the numbers. Considering you have your own LGS and do this for people without advertising your own products really shows how much you love Pokémon / PTCG. Second to none when it comes to genuine info! Thanks again for all you do bro! ♥
Love all this as always Danny. To me the prices I don't worry about to much cos I am a collector. What does me here in uk are the people online who I deal with don't have the staff to update so a lot of the singles which have gone way down in price haven't been altered much at all here. I'm probably better off ordering maybe of somewhere like tcg & pay postage shipping. Like I think I want 9 or 11 cards for steam siege but they charging a lot still for the big cards. So to sum up shops here in uk say they haven't got enough staff to alter prices on single sales.🤔
It would be nice to remake this exact same video at the end of sv era (Or well.. Even after some months/years to see the changes through time.. Cause now, after 4 months, a lot has change already)
Great video, would have loved for you to include the 'fun cost' for each set like you normally do, as like you mentioned, value of the pulls is only half the story depending on how expensive the boosters are.
Would love to see a video just like this with all the sword and shield sets, looking at how they are all holding up after scarlet and violet is in full swing. Also would be so cool to see with other eras like SM to see how each set has aged (and is doing now that the TCG has cooled a bunch with prices)
Basically Danny 151 good marketing from pokemon. 😜 Its obvious that temporal forces there will be some big expensive chases Danny but then when the next set is released then the prices for a lot of the chase cards in that set will come down. Anyway Danny always great info thanks for your time for the input.👍
I honestly really like the illustration rares and special illustration rares of the S&V era, the art works are beautiful. I would rather have more of them and no full art or gold cards in future sets.
I remember at prerelease I pulled 2 miraidon sir from S&V base. I sold them right away on ebay and got $170 each + shipping. I still have screenshots of the sales just to remember. I almost feel bad now 😂
Love that this justifies me spending my collection dollars on more 151 :) btw Sam's club has a deal right now where you get 2 151 mini tins and a pokeball with 3 packs (2 lost origin and 1 silver tempest) for $28. So basically $4 a pack.
Hi Phanny -- Love this type of video, it always discourages me from spending too much ripping, but I always grab some packs to open with the boys on the weekends so it's fun to know where I can get the most "value back" if I am not chasing something specific. Love the info and the work that went into this vid, keep it up!
I really need the shiny illustration charizard for obsidian flames if anyone has an extra. As for which set to rip packs from, I would recommend Paldea Evolved for quality art style, amazing illustration rares, and has more punch than the base set scarlet & violet in my opinion.
I’m trying to get into playing the tgc, I’ve been playing the video game since emerald, but dang it’s hard to get the everything you need even after a booster and a elite trainer box. I got a good psychic deck but I need more energy for my water/grass/fire/dark deck
Great information Danny. Would be interesting to see some data on the sword and shield era packs that are still available at a decent price today like crown zenith.
Looking at these numbers it seems clear that paldea evolved should be #1. Sure, 151 pack values are higher but good luck finding it under $5. I can find paldea evolved easily under $3/pack.
it seems like collectors have abandoned Paldaen Fates as well as the pure Charizard set (ahem, championspath) and all I can trust on value is 151. Small set, remarkable artwork, and a UNIQUE Charizard EX which is no where near as playable as the other Zard EX from gen 9. If you're in this for the money, you're not going to be very happy, but some 151 certainly takes the burn out of the Zard hunt
Overall I think you will see paldean fates drop and it switch places with paldea evolved. Goes to show how much people love 151. It would be interesting to see this with some sword and shield sets now that they aren't releasing new products and prices for sealed are starting to rise on some of the sets.
Brother I found you today and I join you because you actually love this and your not just for the money I try to buy some sets but like you said ppl are charging crazy prices to the point that is not worth it to buy 😢
The market for OP is sad because the wholesale cost is much lower ($65ish) but retailers are selling for $200. For this reason alone I don't support those sellers for anything anymore
Yes we would definitely love this type of video for the sword and shield era! I know it's a ton of work to bring us this cleanly presented information so I wanna say THANK YOU PHANNY!❤🤙🏼
Awesome vid! Really validating for me since i have gotten back into the hobby and almost been blindly opening 151 and evolved purely because i just like them lmao x.x
The dude has his own store and doesn't advertise in videos he discusses and analyzes trends of the products he sells. He might be the most selfless person on the internet. I would totally buy from him and trust his prices if I knew where to buy. Thanks for being such a a great dude Danny
Amen!
I heard he's even nicer in person. RUclips Jesus???😮
That’s why I’m a Phanny
What a meat rider!!!
It’s “The card colosseum” if you really want to buy from his store.
SV 151 🏆
Obsidian flames got me into collecting Pokemon again
Same here, I love that charizard, I feel like people now are overlooking it.
151 has to take the win for me
I stopped buying sealed product years ago, but Crown Zenith got me into opening packs again, then 151 and Paldean Fates made me realize I was wasting my money again. I’ve gambled hundreds of dollars on ETBs and box collections and booster bundles on these two sets and haven’t pulled a single “money” card, or a single good playable staple card. Back to singles for me…again.
So open 151 and nothing else😂
Would be great to see similar comparison for sword and shield sets! This is justification to do what I want and open more 151!
agreed! great analysis Danny!
I have access to a lot of 151 sealed rn… I personally have taken a break from Pokemon modern. However I’m falling back in with temporal forces haha
Loading up on Crown Zenith while it's still cheap. It won't stay under MSRP for more than another year. Best set since Evolving Skies to me.
I was thinking the same thing. Since crown zenith doesn't have booster boxes displays are you focusing on the ETB's then??
There's a ton of it around . Will never be an evolving skies , guarantee that and no Booster boxes too . If anything a pokemon Co Etb that'd about it
I love this video. Honestly no one on RUclips is this precise or this accurate when it comes to data on product, sales price or fun costs value.
Very interesting analysis, thanks Danny! Would definitely be interested in seeing how the more mature SWSH sets breakdown
Best set is 151
But not the best pull rates haha
lol very true. It can be quite unforgiving!
@@DannyPhantump Honestly... kind of what makes it the best set. Cards being tough to pull in 1st edition base is what made it so amazing today.
Hi Danny!!!
This vid was great! If you're willing to do one for S&S, that would be lit, too. Especially with packs for sets like ES, CR, and FS steadily rising now, it'd be interesting to see what the numbers look like.

Always Good info. I may need to jump on the colosseum to look for a little vintage
tbh not fair for Paldean fates to be there, confounds the data as its too new. Think 151 might bias the data as well but i enjoyed this comparison.
Thank you for this! Would love to see an intro video to deck building in 2024 and maybe even some tips on what to generally look out for in a deck? Thank you for all you do!
Hey bro, when are you loading singles for pre-order for tempural forces singles?
would definitely be interested to see how this compares to Sword and Shield sets
Loved this man especially on Sword and Shield would be amazing! Appreciate all you do if not thank you Danny!
Danny could you do an updated version of this video soon?
If this guy wrote a book the way he talks in his videos, the whole thing would be a run-on sentence
I want to open 151 but i cant find it in store, and im reluctant to purchase cards online
Is it better to buy Pokémon Center box’s ?
is that even a question ahaha the 2nd best set here could double up in pulls and wouldnt be better than 151
I'd be curious to see how Crown Zenith stacks up. My LCS has $7 packs of 151 so still about a 50% expected loss but I may have to grab a booster bundle or 2 next time they're on sale
Working on a few master sets currently. Your videos have been extremely helpful.
I want to start collecting English 151.
The packs are around £6.80
The ultra premium is £109 .
I read not to buy single packs as they can be weighed, is this true?
I’m thinking the safest way is to buy sealed ultra boxes? Thanks
do you have any videos on how to enter the cards correctly into tiktok shop?
Imo it's paldea evolved and 151 even with the tougher pull rates. You can get 12-14 hits out of the other sets yet the hits be worth a $1 a pop. Only other set that seems to have held some value is Paradox Rift as well since it has quite a few playable cards.
Worse base, 2nd obsidian. This is my prediction
I’m a firm believer in collecting what you like. If value goes up? Great. If it doesn’t? Who cares. It’s a card or product you want.
Where can you find booster boxes for 90?
Nice stats. Nice shop online man, what are the shipping costs to Holland?
Hey Danny, one thought I had that would be interesting, is to give an example of the range of outcomes for these kind of videos. Will 151 have reprints in the future?
Really liked this video and hope you make more of this kind where you analyse the data for booster sets.
Obsidian Flames needed a few more IRs and SIRs and it would have been a top set.
Some LGS still charge over price based on the market instead of selling it at msrp. I’m glad Pokémon isn’t pricey like one piece where it’s over price from scalpers and LGS
Love your videos any chance you can move that blastoise box over its hanging off the edge of your shelf and I cant stop looking at it 😅.
I found this information very useful and interesting! thank you for going through the effort to pull this together!
Can you do a competitive best to open? Like which cards have best results records?
You wish you knew where to find those 151 bundles at MSRP. I could give a hint, but that might ruin the secret.
S&V is so much fun. About to rip into my second SV1 booster box, and I’m super excited...
...after finishing this video, I'm realizing that it's definitely time to stop breaking and start buying singles. No regrets. Still a fun set.
😆🤣

Currently working on 151 binder!

Really thought obsidian flames would have been a future cult priced set did not expect them to print charizard into the ground
When will you be buying bulk again?
I’ve bought every promo box from 151. I’m addicted to completing this set. I’m so close to being done then paladean fates
Love your videos, Danny! Keep up the good work :)
So what’s the store?
Is there somewhere that he lists this info ? Discord or something?
When 151 hits, it hits hard.
Appreciate you showing all this data, definitely surprised that paldean fates is still so high but maybe it needs more time for prices to continue to settle
Are Japanese 151 cards the same price as English 151 cards
I just got back into the hobby after like 15 years.. but this video makes me feel better about the fact I ordered a japanese box of 151 last week without knowing anything other than those are the pokemon I fell in love with as a kid 😂😂😂
By far the most informative and helpful pokemon tcg channel on RUclips
Your dedication to the hobby is insane Danny! Love the analysis, the data, the numbers. Great video, would have loved for you to include the 'fun cost' for each set like you normally do, as like you mentioned, value of the pulls is only half the story depending on how expensive the boosters are.
hey Danny! love the work. would it be possible if you could add the lowest/highest possible value per bb?
Would love to see a video just like this with all the sword and shield sets, looking at how they are all holding up after scarlet and violet is in full swing. Do the 5 best SWSH sets

I havent really moved on from collecting sword and shield but from what I do have of scarlet and violet it has to be 151.
I’m trying to get into playing the tgc, I’ve been playing the video game since emerald, but dang it’s hard to get the everything you need even after a booster and a elite trainer box. I got a good psychic deck but I need more energy for my water/grass/fire/dark deck

I love opening more then buying singles so this is a great video for me
The market for OP is sad because the wholesale cost is much lower ($65ish) but retailers are selling for $200. For this reason alone I don't support those sellers for anything anymore
Crown Zenith is best! 😊
That’s sword and shield
I'm betting 151. I pulled 5 SAR venasaurs and 0 reverse Arcanines.
Where’s ur store bro
Who is hating on the new Drampa IR??? It’s one of my FAVORITES they’ve put out. So peaceful and serene
I got 1 s&v base booster box, 3 paldea evolved booster box, and 1 paradox rift booster box for 350. I think that’s pretty good.
Nothing better than having 2 of your videos after a long busy week 😁
Yes we would definitely love this type of video for the sword and shield era! I know it's a ton of work to bring us this cleanly presented information so I wanna say THANK YOU PHANNY!❤🤙🏼
Great analysis Danny. Glad you looked at the set vs set level. Thank you.
Thanks Danny! Thank you for the constant unbiased content!
Personally i think paldea evolved has been my favorite normal set to open. 151 is obv cool af but its a special set
Awesome vid! Really validating for me since i have gotten back into the hobby and almost been blindly opening 151 and evolved purely because i just like them lmao x.x
Paldea Evolved has been my personal favorite but obviously 151 was super nostalgic and I have a soft spot for it as well
Thanks for sharing this info.Much appreciated ❤
Thanks Danny always helping the Poke Community
