Releasing an album every December for the last decade has been kinda exhausting, both mentally and creatively. So it's time to slow down a little and do some extra projects I've wanted to do for a while.
I'm turning 41 years old this year and don't have the energy I used to have to be constantly creating 24/7, haha!
But don't worry, the game songs aren't going anywhere, they're just gonna take a little longer to come out from now on. You guys have 200 other songs to keep you going while you wait so hopefully you should be ok :D

Honestly, the more passion you have for a game the more obviously it shines through in your work, every time I load up Mojave Song I am so utterly blown and swept away by the music and end up rocking out for 8 solid minutes. I've been following you since your first Metro song and have loved absolutely everything you've released up until now, it'll be really good to see how you remake some music in this year! Hyped as hell man!

For 9 years she's listened to you after I introduced her and she's played maybe one game, or seen me play a few. She loves your music because it captures feeling, tones and stories and she get's the gist without ever playing or comes and asks me.
You succeed at what you set out to do. Keep going.

My dad also often points out how varied my musical taste is and at one point when he was doing that, he pointed out how the song I was listening to at the time was so different from one I was listening to just an hour earlier and I told him that "dad, they were both by the same guy." He was really impressed with your range. Can't remember which two songs it was, though....
Same here, I'm the big gamer of the two of us but my wife loves your music as well, especially the more folky/Celtic stuff, which Includes Valhalla of course. Also my 3.5y old daughter can already sing along to some songs of yours :)

@@Bob-yb5om I'm more of a book reader on that one. Saw a bit of the show, but didn't really follow it, cause I'd read the books. Also from what I understand they kinda butchered the last season, so yay for not seeing it I guess.

You've already given so much, please, take the time for yourself and take as long as you need. I would much rather never hear a new song from you and know you're out somewhere happy, healthy, and in good spirits than have a new song every month and see you miserable and burned out. Take care of yourself. Those of us who understand will be waiting for your return. ❤️

When I first discovered your channel I was a junior in high school, in 2013/2014. My now 18-month-old daughter listened to the music so much while she was in the womb she recognized it when she came out and still dances whenever I put it on. And now my son is 21 weeks along and he kicks for the music too. It feels like you're music has joined me on my great life adventure. We are all so excited to see what comes next and see you do what makes you happy. 🧡

I seriously appreciate your artistic integrity, and the fact that you only release songs based off things you're passionate about rather than chasing fads. It shows so much in the quality of what you put out.
Do whatever you need to do to keep that fire burning, we'll be here eagerly waiting no matter how long it takes or what direction your muse sends you.
Y'know what gav? You've basically given us such a vast wave of songs, you should take some time for yourself and this seems like the perfect time. So take your time, find your center, and when you're ready, come on back and wow us yet again with another fantastic track.

My Dad doesn't play video games and frankly isn't interested in them at all. However, he is a big fan of your music, so through your songs, I'm able to share something I'm passionate about with him.
Hey Gav, you may not know this, or maybe you do, but so many of us have listened to your music since the beginning. We've been here for over a decade, our interests have evolved with yours because the content drew us in, but we stayed for the artist. Whatever direction you go, we'll be excited to see what you do next. This year's gonna be great.

You likely get the message a lot but your music has really helped me process through some rather rough times. Please take any breaks you need in any form they need to take. RUclips Fatigue is way too real.
My only request is that you make the music you want to. We will be listening avidly. Your music has been inspiring and your creative process is yours alone.

I truly wish more people had that kind of mindset when creating projects. Too few people will keep to that and it is comforting to hear ya say that. Passion comes from what you "want" to do, not what you "need" to do.

Inspiration can't be forced. In the meantime we'll appreciate the songs that have already come out. Because they are masterpieces!
I think that one of the reasons why Valhalla's Calling blew up so much is that it's probably the catchiest melody you've ever written. I've listened to it only once, but found myself humming it couple times a day even two weeks later.
There's a limit to how much work one person can do and in recent years I think people have become far too obsessed with making work their entire reason to be. You're exceptionally talented and there will always be people who admire your music, so there's no reason why you or any creative person shouldn't feel free to do what you want at the pace you want. Best of luck with your new projects going forward. I look forward to whatever you do.

This one will be a lot more energetic and bombastic than Vistas but hopefully people will enjoy it just as much :)

@@miracleofsound Vistas provided a lpt of good ambient "downtime" music* for our Shadowrun RPG sessions, and I'll certainly find use for sth more bombastic.

The thing about this is, you've reached the point where no matter what you decide to do, people will still be just as excited. Even if there are no new releases this year or any releases at all. We will be here waiting for whenever something happens. Go take a break from the algorithm, you've earned it.

Valhalla calling is a masterpiece on every single level; it has an epic geniune feel, a full and rich sound and inspiring heroic lyrics. And you can sing a long with it which is a huge plus for me as I love songs I can do that with. I played it non stop for 5 days when I first found it, in fact I'm going straight to it from here. I've never played a single minute of any Assassin's creed game, nor do I watch Vikings but that song.... damn it if it doesn't make me feel nostalgic.
So exited for all the stuff you're planning on doing! I love seeing how every time I think you have made my favourite song you go on make an even more awesome one! So keep unthroning my favourite songs :D

Most of the songs I've listened to from you, I've never played the games they're based on. They absolutely stand out on their own. And of course, one cannot force themselves to be inspired or invested in something, do what you're best at and do them when you feel like you can best make them. If that means taking a break until you get inspired on your own, so be it. We'll be waiting. Keep rocking on.

As a fortnite and fnaf fan I have to agree with this. A lot of fnaf and fortnite fan songs actually suck because the creator just pumps out songs to keep up with the trend. Plus miracle of sounds style doesn’t really fit with fnaf or fortnite (he could do a song about the zero point but that’s not really what fortnite is known for)

Gav remember that we are fans and love your music. Do not feel pressured to rush or force music and videos out. Your songs are all amazing and are good introductions into the games themselves. I really wish some one would get you to officially do a song for their IP. Also you are one of the few people who have immortalized some more obscure myths into song like your The Tale Of Cú Chulainn, a great song to introduce people to an Irish hero who most do not know of.

SpaceX's mission, Boston Dynamics insane robotics, NATO or UN's mission or perhaps go into history (like Sabaton does)
I think that'd be cool, if he wants to do real life event songs. His song "A Long Year" really gave people deep chills. Still does

What an incredible decade this has been for you Gav! You've given us just the most beautiful array of songs, so diverse a spectrum that I can hardly put it into words. Whatever you decide to do, you've more than made your mark. Thank you for all that you do, your songs have singlehandedly gotten me into Assassins Creed, Wolfenstein and Fallout, and I feel like I know so much about games I've never played just by listening to your music.
