This is more than just a motivational song. Not only does it pump you up and make you feel good, it VALIDATES YOUR FEELINGS. Yes, life is hard. No, you won't always be okay. Yes, it is okay to be afraid. No, you don't have to let fear control you. It's the motivational song that other songs like it wish they could be.
As someone who struggles with mental illness, it speaks to me on a deeply personal level. I love it so much.
I'm finding so much of MoS's music to be like this; even the darker songs have a thread of hope; the message is consistently either, HOPE, or FIGHT. Loving it all so much.
I can't decide what I'm most impressed about. Your vocal range or your genre range. I think I'm gonna go with genre, but daaang them vocals.

Ended up homeless, stranded halfway across the country, and yet, have the best job of my life, incredibly supportive coworkers, an amazing library, my boss even gave me $100 to replace my worn out work shoes. Now I got a good pair of boots that will last me years, and some new socks. Work pays enough that I will have my own place in a couple weeks. And this song sure as hell has become my anthem lately!

When I first heard this song like a year ago I was like "eh, It's alright. Not as good as his other stuff, but I dig it. It's his own thing." I've just kinda had a draining day, and I remembered this song existed, so I looked it back up, and I'm glad I did. Hearing the lyrics, and seeing him have so much fun singing it was a boost that I needed. I like this song. I'll come back to it if I'm feeling down again.

I remember when I listened to this song just because of this uplifting beat until to the part of my life when I struggled with my emotions. I remember that when at that time I travelled by bus to school and had a hard time I listened to lyrics especially to the sentence "Just because they told you so, That doesn’t make it true, Sometimes the only sure things are, The instincts inside you" bc my mental issues was made because of the things that other people told me. And I know that to heal my health I needed a therapy but this sentence made an positive impact for my life and change my way of thinking about some themes etc, so yeah thanks Gav ♥

It's been a great many years, Gavin. This song resurfaced during the recovery of shattering both legs and my left arm. Things can get real low at times. When this song resurfaced I nearly didn't stop to listen to it, but as the words rose to the front of my mind and I got two thirds through the song. I had to say screw it and Actually listen to it.

Starting college is probably one of my hardest challenges to date. Im arriving to the point where I have lost part of what made me "Me". Its part of me telling me that, through all school years, all I wanted to do was to be someone else, to assume a different role than the one society assigned me. I thought that college would help, and it has, but at the same time... part of me feels like Im headed the wrong way.
Whatever the case, this song came at a point in my life where I was genuinely scared of the future... and it basically made up my mind already: What I do now will define who I really am, be it for bad or for worse, and people will try to bring me down to who I was or just bring down the guy they will get to know...
