I love this game and its expansion. Awesome you did this game on the show! Such a fun worker placement and if your into D&D the artwork and lore really pull you in.
I love this show! Well done on making this show YOUR own and in YOUR own entertaining way! Love Becca and her enthusiasm! Love how happy the guests are to participate! (Especially Katelyn in the last few games!) Keep up the amazing work, and dont let anyone drag you guys down!
Wil Wheaton was fantastic at this. Becca Scott is also amazing at this. Let's not hate on Becca for not being Wheaton lol. I highly doubt Becca Scott decided, "Lets remove Wil Wheaton and replace him with me!". Aim that negativity somewhere else
I like Becca as a host & player. I understand why people compare the 2 shows, but they are separate shows. Wil left for his own reasons that had nothing to do with Becca. I do think Tabletop had slightly better production values (it was easier to see the game itself and follow the action ). And I liked the player interviews they would sprinkle in. However I like the higher # of episodes and variety of games on this show.
while i agree with your statement, its totally fine if i hate her for not having Ruel and/or Ivan(only with evil corgi plushie) in this particular episode yes?
I personally liked the production value of Tabletop but I didn't care for Wheaton as a host. Every episode was either him gloating about how he was going to beat everyone or whining about how bad he was losing. I understand that's his schtick but it gets old quick, and it always came across as genuine and not just faked. Even when he guested on Critical Role his whole bit was the meme about him only rolling 1s. Becca IMO has a much better energy that lends itself to hosting a show.
I wanted to hate on this series for not having Wheaton and was prepared to double down on the hate for playing the same game... can't do it. This was alot of fun, keep it up, peeps.
Yeah I mean I do miss Will and I do miss the formula with the loser's couch and all but Becca is great too. I do feel her guests are to many of geek and sundry's own folks though, I do miss getting mythbusters and Nasa engineers and stuff.
I love how the background music matches the theme of this game. Reminds me a lot of my time in Ultima Online :D Thanks for this great round! The chemistry was awesome!
48:15 ish Becca misplays her turn by playing an Intrigue card rather than drawing one. just so there's no confusion on what is supposed to happen in this space. (middle space in Cliffwatch Inn) Also, this is one of my favorite board games.
That is something I wish they would have used a different graphic. It is something I have to explain to new players all the time. Thought on @59 Oliva drew a card instead of playing one, at the Eye's Lair.
I was huge into Forgotten Realms novels and the DnD campaigns so it's so cool to see you all casually talking about FR lore. Escape from Undermountain was one of the first campaigns I ever played. Just the fact you named Halister Blackcloak gave me a nerdgasm. :)
Becca only gave Denise 15 points for a quest she was meant to get 17 for towards the end, (15 +2 for the priest she used) which eventually meant she lost where she should have won, which is unfortunate. There were a few mistakes with location effects (Denise received an Intrigue card at Eye's inn when she was meant to play one, and Becca did the opposite at Cliffwatch Inn) and again with scoring - Becca gave herself 7 instead of 8 for her Lord's quests during the final score count for example. But other than that, the video was super fun! I honestly prefer Becca's energy to Wil's and I'm really enjoying her hosting. It's easy for those little hiccups to happen when you're playing and also trying to host at the same time, so it would be useful to have a producer or similar to keep an eye on the little details and make sure everything is being done right. Keep up the great content!
Was there an error at 10:30? The card says "Play at Waterdeep Harbor," but Katie had placed her worker in the Undermountain section. Or does the "Play an Intrigue Card" instruction override this limitation?
In the base game you only play Intrigue cards at Waterdeep Harbour, so that wording was there to remind players they can’t play the cards whenever they want. The expansion added many more places that you can play Intrigue cards, and the expansion rulebook says to ignore the wording regarding Waterdeep Harbour.
I don't think the internet will listen to you bud, the comment section is there for a reaction. Whether is be good or bad the producers have to take it into consideration.
Hi Becca, and all you wonderful gamers! I am trying to decide between Champions of Midgard, and Lords of Waterdeep. Which would one recommend trying out first?
You probably decided 4 years ago but for anyone else interested, Champions of Midgard is more luck heavy with the use of dice to resolve combat while Lords of Waterdeep is more of a traditional euro worker placement. I haven't played CoM because LoW appeals to me more and is one of my top games.
At the 40:10 mark Denise couldn't play the Organised Crime card because it specifically says...PLAY AT WATERDEEP HARBOUR which she wasn't at. Also at the 48:25 mark Becca was suppose to TAKE AN INTRIGUE CARD not play one because that's what that spot does.
100% of intrigue cards say "Play at waterdeep harbor" without exception. Other places to play them were introduced in the expansion (here they have the Undermountain module) and the expansion rulebook says to ignore the waterdeep harbor bit for every location that lets you play Action cards.
Around 18ish minutes 2 turns in a row for denise she went to waterdeep harbor she drew an intrigue card she should of played one instead. On her next turn she placed her person on one of the others building she was allowed to yet again play an intrigue card which she did BUT the card she chose specifically stated to play it at waterdeep harbor so there could not okay said card
tons of chemistry at the table today, quite fun to watch. oh and you should all watch Katie on Dungeon Run (D&D RPG live on caffeine.tv wednesday nights with recordings the next day or so here on RUclips), not sure why they didn't advertise that here... but it's totally awesome
Cliffwatch Inn has three separate action spaces, so the money that Joseph put on it should have been placed on only one of them. Becca was wrong about the money being assigned to the Inn as a whole.
MattinatorHax It’s because new players do not realize the power that Waterdeep Harbor provides. In most games the harbor players take advantage of the extra secondary action you take after playing your intrigue card.
3 Rules Clarifications: 1) You MUST follow an Intrigue Card or Building's requirements in full. You can't stop midway, nothing is optional. The Building says Play 3 Intrigue...you have to play 3 Intrigue. You can't stop after 2. To that end, if you can't meet it's requirements, you cannot place a Meeple there. 2) When Scoring at the end, it goes from Last Place to First Place. It is not done by Play Order. 3) When Scoring, you count up your Gold and Adventurers first, then your Lord.
@@Sarculare There's ways around that in the Expansion via Intrigue Cards and Plot Quests. Thus you are able to if you're playing the Expansion. No rules were broken with that.
The Harpers are basically the IM department from Mission Impossible, they go around and recruit various adventurers to tackle or investigate evil plots and stop them.
Alright, I don’t wanna seem shitty BUT, I’m genuinely curious how Geek and Sundry is still a thing? They have 2 million subscribers but they rarely break 20k views on any given video. So where do they get their funding? How do keep putting content out? Twitch, Patreon, merch? I don’t get it. So somebody please enlighten me. Again, nothing against them, I’m actually impressed they keep putting stuff out given how few of their subs seem to watch (percentage wise). More power to them.
Felicia sold it to Legendary studios (also own Nerdist) a few years ago so they're probably paying some of the money. They have Alpha which is a monthly subscription service, and they stream on Twitch all the time. Being given all the board games they play is just a drop in the bucket to the costs they incur, but I'd bet they get all their stuff for free which has to help some.
Huh, the "Tabletop" brigade had been slowing down. Maybe doing a game that TT had done brought them back. This is on my "games I'd like to play some time" list. Not just had done, but is considered one of the best if not the best episode of Tabletop in a lot of people's eyes. Plus this is one of the pinnacle Worker Placement games period. Combine those 2 reasons, along with Legendary fucking up Geek & Sundry as a whole, and you get this outcome/response.
Amazing game. I was waiting for this play session. Sadly we all know this won't be as good as the Tabletop episode of the same game. Then again, this series is pretty much Tabletop Lite with less known people and not nearly as funny. It is nice to see the Undermountain Expansion being used though. Easily the best way to play the game.
At 40ish minutes denise yet again illegally played an intrigue card on the wrong location bc it was her 2nd one she played that said play at waterdeep harbor and she wasn't at waterdeep harbor
I dont say this to be mean i respect the host, but this is no where near as entertaining as will on tabletop and its no where near as good as Board game Geek was for info

Waterdeep, the undermountain & the mad mage was a fairly recent setting again. The basis of the most recent season of Adventure League

That middle Cliffwatch Inn spot is gain a quest and an intrigue card right? I don't think you're supposed to play one there...

Is there a separate video where they explain the under mountain expansion? Is it just more spaces to go to?
Also noticed on more than one occasion when some ppl went to the inn in the middle section they played intrigue cards you draw them not play them
Becca and Katie look like they could be sisters
becca and katie should always play together
Was there an error at 10:30? The card says "Play at Waterdeep Harbor," but Katie had placed her worker in the Undermountain section. Or does the "Play an Intrigue Card" instruction override this limitation?
Same happened at 19:26. I must be misunderstanding something...
And again at 36:00...
And at 40:15. I'm going to stop noting the instances now because this is getting silly.
