Had this game for years, played many times, but had overlooked the Waterdeep Harbor rule where you get to move your piece to a new location at the end of the round. When I saw this video, we added in the rule and have played 3 times since and the rule makes a lot of sense and I think makes the gameplay better. Thank you, Becca Scott.
@@madhatterguitarI think the numbers on those fields are supposed to make you ask the question, but it did not in our case because there is so much more to learn about the game we passed right over that.
My favorite for game nights with newer gamers. Experienced players add the expansion. Great game, low complexity, set rounds, player interaction, no player elimination and fun.
Thank you so much! English is not my first language and reading makes it more difficult for me to learn. The visuals of this video along with the rules really helped me!
This is one, if not, the best video for this title. Her vibe is always radiance and contagious. By just watching this video has made me want to come back playing this again, and it feels like the first time playing it, exciting. Thank you Becca!! Waiting for more of your great videos!!
OMG, so THAT'S what this game is called! Lol. A friend of mine was involved in test playing new board games back when this one came out, and I played it at his house with some old friends I hadn't seen in years. I was more focused on the people than the board game, but I've always remembered enjoying it, and I've been trying to describe the vague details I remembered to game shop owners to try and find it every since! (You'd be surprised and disappointed by how many game shop owners have directed me to Settlers of Catan when I was trying to find this one.)
So after you complete your 2 initial quests (acquired at the beginning of the game), you have to acquire new quests by going to the Cliffwatch Inn only?
YES YES YES!!! I enjoyed the Tabletop play as well, but have been waiting for you to get around to this one. Becca .....remember to go for the card where you train owl bears! :)
Pro tip for anyone playing the expansion: remove all the lord's that say "You get bonuses for quest type A or quest type B" It really spices up the game and lets people use the full board in better ways than just to complete quests

@@Bob-wr1md No it is just annoying, most faults are made because people where typing fast or where just not fully concentrating, not because that was not known. Also language is just hear four understanding, so as long as people can communicate, its fine.

I've got a question... So, I've heard folks use the phrase "feed teo birds with one scone" as a less violent replacement of the more common version if that phrase. And we can all agree that it's a friendlier, vegan alternative...However, my question is: if an existing, common phrase merely implies the exploitation of animals and the alternative implies violence towards humans, does that make it a vegan alternative? Specifically, "Don't put all your eggs in one basket" could become "don't put all your legs in one casket"... but is that better or worse?
You could merge this with an Acquisitions incorporated D&D game and have the party be one player while the DM is the three other factions colluding to get you out of the business. With the board Game and D&D campaign influencing each other.
I'm kind of surprised to see this here, this game was released 7 years ago. Why present it now? Why not a new game? Still a good game though.. edit: link to Geek and Sundry's Tabletop, with Will Wheaton and Felicia Day presenting this game (Guests: Patrick Rothfuss, Brandon Laatsch): ruclips.net/video/D7DvEIfrP84/видео.html
I do as well. This is only the 3rd video I've watched since Wheaton's departure. I watched a couple other playthroughs from Geek n Sundry with Becca as the host and noticed with a couple games she "cheated" so I stopped watching.
I don't think they're any more annoying than they are with 4 players. With lower player counts, you have more agents, and therefore more opportunities to complete quests, so the damage of having to waste an action completing a mandatory quest is somewhat reduced.
Lol because it's not that hard to understand something so simple. I own this game and this is how I've taught everyone that I've played it to how to play the game.

It's clear enough in the instructions, but it's so crazy that there's no indication on the board that you get to do this.

This is the most under rated board game of the last decade imho.

I really enjoyed the TapleTop video of this game and can't wait to see you and your friends play this!
Such a good game. Need to play again! This weekend.
Absolutely love this game! Looking forward to Game the Game.
Great Instructional! This really clarified the rules! I love this game.
4:14 the graphic is off, it's highlighting the quest card symbol instead of the intrigue card symbol

At 4:14 the quest token was marked instead of the intrigue card token. Q instead of I.
There's a mistake at 2:36. You don't pay in cubes OR gold, you pay in cubes AND gold.
This channel is a disgrace to board gamers. Almost every tutorial video has rules mistakes. But not her, she's pretty.
Great summary thanks
great quick explanation. thanks!
Resident "board game explaining" expert. Becca for the win.
My favourite board game!
My favorite work placement game!

I really really really love this game.
very pogchamp. thank you
Awesome rules video! Wish you guys would go ahead and do the skullport expansion since it doesn’t add that much complexity to the game
dear becca scott, please keep on making these videos :D
Great game!
Are those scrolls or cloth napkins on the right er stage left? either way do they have the rules written on them

You misspelled "their".

Wasn't this already on tabletop?
I'm here because of Becca
It's cool but I expected more player agency and input, this seems to be more like a Ticket to Ride meets Catan game and just assigning resources.
epic 🙌 gave me some ideas for my channel!
*I would LOVE for them to play Vampire: The Eternal Struggle on Game the Game!*
Awesome!!..u da bomb!!
Love this game but there's so much ambiguity in the cards. Anyone else feel this way?
1st comment! You guys are amazing! =D
Riot if no Owlbear callback
Could just watch the Tabletop video and watch it being played :P
Becca Scott is so hot I need to watch this video three times to understand the rules...
Finally, a game and a video that didn’t make me cringe. 👍👍👍
Thank you from 2023.
