I think I like the Tymo side better. I have seen some results where the hair was kinky straight but mostly it seems like it gives more body. I prefer that now. I used to want it bone straight. Hey Girl, did you get it?? I feel like I haven’t been fair to my tymo so I’m going to do another video where I blow dry my hair first and then go in with the tymo. They initially were designed for keep the volume of the hair, recently they changed their market toward 4 and thick hair and tried to do more Marketing for the kinky hair. However in my opinion thick hair & very corse hair always needs higher temperatures to have that bone straight sleek & for me flat iron can achieve that much better than the comb or brush. Apart from the more heat you pass through your hair the more risk of damage you have. Passing in 450 degree or 230 C more than 2 times can cause serious damage to your hair. The comb because how its designated never going to straighten properly your roots or sleek your ends without passing more than 2 pass and that brings put a lot of heat stress to the hair.

I just had to chime in on Carolyn's comment about type 4 hair and thick hair needing higher temperatures. My hair is thick and coily and considered type 4 hair but it is not coarse and I'm sure there are a lot of other people out there with my hair type. To those with medium to fine strands not matter how tight your curl is...Warning!!! do not put higher temperatures on your hair and run the risk of extreme breakage. I used Tymo today and I used the lower tempertures like the last dot and the 2nd to last dot on this appliance and my hair turned out very straight. I was shocked how well this thing worked. Tip... As far as my coily ends go, I used the TYMO on my ends first to smooth it out & then I went over my hair at the roots to the ends. Twirling my hair around the appliance with a little tension also helped smooth my ends out a lot.
