So I bought the thing after watching this and just wanted to come back and say, THIS IS THE REALEST REVIEW OUT THERE. That thing gets HOT and can def burn you ( and I had it on like 370) , going straight from 4c natural will give you more of a "blown-out" look then pressed no matter how slow you go. Really not worth the hype unless you're trying to blow dry your hair first
THANK YOUUU!! People like being lied to that’s why influencers will keep lying lol
I like that this review actually shows what’s it’s like without having to blow dry etc because it shows the brush is still good
True indeed
You went too fast. You did not blow dry it. You didn't comb each section before. Cocktail for disaster.
You right!! i just did this and my hair is. Longer. I didn’t run myself, it my hair hold heat. But i learned smaller sections, go under and use tension and go slower and i would not have wasted some of my time. Smh😂 i learned today!
I was going to comment and say this but you did it for me .🤣
I was thinking the same thing
I was just coming to say that. She needed to slow down and to make sure her hair was actually touching the the iron plates.
I am planning on getting one of these. Should I blow dry it first? I know that I have to section it first and add hair protection.
I have this and I have real 4C hair. I PROMISE it works! The key for any silky straight result is washing your hair throughly and a good blow dry. Thats what I did and the result was amazing.
Ikr same and it does! 😊
So i have to blowdry fast?
4c hair is hard to get extra straight without a chemical so anything nonchemical will not last even a press. I like that she was very honest
Thank you. The comments I am getting is exactly why influencers will continue to lie to their audience. I actually refilmed this time my hair was taxlexed. It still reversed a bit. People don’t like the truth.
too there is a lot of things that you did wrong first off you need freshly washed wet hair then add your heat protectant while its wet next blow-dry your hair until its as straight as possible and then go in really small sections with the straightener and make sure you have no oils un your hair or it will weigh it down and won't be silky straight :)
"My neck, my back..."we know the rest, I was dead 🤣 send me back faaaar in the past
I have 4c hair and it works great on my hair. To get the roots you have to go under the portion first then down the top. Clipping your ends can help. With 4c hair if you don’t straighten your hair often it will revert fast.
Ohk I don’t straighten my hair often I can honestly say this was probably my first time straightening my hair in a year. I doing like putting heat in my hair
After a good straightener, how long does it usually take to revert?
Yes that’s what happened to me. Started sweating and reverted back gradually.😢
I'm so scared to do my roots 😭
@@anyaaa2801 it doesn’t burn you
I bought this recently and just tried it today.
Now I will admit, I wasn't expecting silky, smooth hair when I used it. My expectations were to simply get my hair smooth enough that I can get a comb through my hair and that's what I got. I also used Blue Magic Coconut Oil Hair Conditioner and that helped to straighten my hair a little more. Bottom line, I am happy with the results that I got with the TYMO Ring Hair Straighter.
When you have 4C hair you have to blow dry your hair first before you straighten your hair with anything. My hair is EXACTLY like yours and I have to blow dry my hair before getting it straighten. At home or the salon!! I’m just saying.
But will it last..? I don't wanna add heat just for me to walk to the mailbox and be reduced to a ponytail for the rest of the day
😢😢😢😢i was thinkin the SAMMMME THING😢😢😢😢
I don’t see the point of doing a review if your not going to put the effort into the proper use of the product. Where was the smaller, thin sections? No blow out? Did you just wash your hair? Is there other products that may of interfered with process , already in your hair?
This video was disappointing for me to see you do vs the products performance. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion; and that’s fine you think it’s a fail. I personally don’t own one , have no attachment to the manufacturer, nor have anything negative to say about you; but I’ve used it on a friends hair , seen it’s magic on post, and know patience/effort is a must with our type of hair in anything done. You have some really good videos . Love you to pieces ,but girl you played yourself and us with this one.
Lolol you took the time right all this so let me respond to you. I did put in the effort and if you read the other comments I told the people who advised me RESPECTFULLY that I will try it again. It was my first time ever doing something like this to my hair. I don’t know everything and we are all learning. My hair was washed and I air dried which I learned I was suppose to blow dry and I told everyone I was going to re-film doing it the proper way. But thank you
I kinda gotta agree you, no hate to the creator. I feel like she was skeptical of it from the beginning and didn’t try it as hard as she could bc she thought it would already fail. I don’t feel like this video is a fair review. I don’t own one either. But I saw a women do a silk press on 4C hair with this straightener so it’s smth about her technique that I feel isn’t right
She was annoying
This is perfect review. I understand what i am going to get. @madelineboateng
I’ve watched several reviews and it amazes me that most didn’t use a heat protectant 😳
It looks like you have a relaxer if you do it right.
Blow dry as straight as possible
Heat protectant
Tymo
( optional) Bump ends with flat iron
While using tymo do small sections as well.
I just got mine from target and I'm never flat ironing again only use it to bump my ends.
When my hair gets longer I won't bump ends just use tymo
I just ordered mine from Target going to get it today. Excited to use it.
I have 4G hair and it works wonders for me, makes me want to straighten my hair more. Wash, condition, blow dry with my Revlon brush, and it gives me the perfect silk press. Two passes and my hair bounced and moved like I'd been to the salon.
Will try it your way thank you
That's exactly what I'm trying this weekend!
What temperature do you use when you straighten your hair?? I’m wondering if I need to bump up the heat when I’m doing mine
Not 4G 😂
4g😂😂😂😂
I have checked out lots of the videos. I learned how to use mine from watching other you tubers. Conditioned blow dryed hair. Hair protectant and a slow pass under the bottom, then on the top and slow thru the ends while holding the hair with the glove.
So... If you had sprayed it and then blow dryed and then used the tymo it would have turn out better. You were lazy with it sis lol.
If I would have sprayed it with what?
@@madelineboateng with the heat protection, sorry.
@@firelily361 I did sis I don’t apply heat to my hair without heat protectant
@@madelineboateng don't get me wrong I saw you use it. I just think it would have been better to use to with the blow dryer and then use tymo for better results.
@@firelily361 got it I will try it again and refilm lol and don’t worry I am not offended
I have a brush similar to the tymo. I have thick type 4 hair you have to blowdry your hair first, just like if you were going to press your hair with a hair straightener. It dont get the ends good either.
Believe it or not. I found out that you have to use a light oil when you straighten 4C hair and you have to blow dry your hair!!! I’m have the newer model and I used it on 230 degrees ( which is hot enough). My hair has been described as feeling like steel wool, lol. Black hair isn’t like other hair. I’m getting my hair silky straight with my Tymo Ionic straightening brush.
Oil on hair sounds scary with the idea of heat so to each is own. If your hair is puffy while flat ironing you’re right definitely blow dry 1st but also deep condition prior to all that.
Nairobi creme press is AMAZING for straightening true afro type hair. It softens and DETANGLES like a dream. You only need this one product for blow drying and straightening. We just need more emollients. The sprays and creams aren't enough and lead to dry hair. I wouldn't use straight raw oils to straighten though. Products are carefully formulated.
I'd love to see photos! I'm scarred to waste my money on this.
@@kays9168 when I said oil, I used a pressing oil. I always deep condition my hair. It’s very very coarse and thick. And I detangle with conditioner in my hair before I rinse it out. I don’t have breakage. Then I use heat protector and blow dry.
Thank you so much for film I knew there was no way I would get the same result as everyone else
My hair reverts quickly also. When I do a hot oil treatment and hydration elation it lasts for about 2 weeks.
I like this. looks good, didn't remove all the texture from your hair, and no need to blow dry and heat more.
Thank you for this video because I as well have TRUE 4C hair. This was very helpful
Thank you I appreciate this video... I have 4C hair also and I wanted to see how the straightener would react with no blow drying, if I was pressed for time and just wanted to quickly wash my hair and stretch it real fast. So thank you ❤
The first Tymo ring brush (which is what you have) is actually 60 secs to heat up. The Tymo Ring Plus is 30 secs.
How can you tell how old it is? I just bought one from someone.
Thank you so much for showing this on 4C hair!!
Love hearing different opinions on hype products. I have relaxed hair so I think I'll be okay but its good to hear other opinions. Thanks for sharing your review x
Please read the most recent research on relaxers & chemical straighteners. It's all bad.
You also may need to buy the plus, which is specifically for your hair type. I have looser 4a/b mix hair and I bought the plus. I’ll come back to comment on it when I use it next week.
"Y'all be lying" 😂😅🤣🤣🤣
It works I use it and the tymo got my hair silky straight . I can tell you first the mistakes you made with youre hair type you have to wash condition deep condition and blow-dry the hair first get it as straight as you can, it makes for a better silk press and you do not have to do as many passes . Also make you're sections smaller this will help also
Thanks for the review! I hate when all the reviews are peachy and paid for, lol
lol people like to be lied to that’s why they are bashing me in the comments and that’s why influencer will continue to lie just to sell products and get their commission lol. I actually refilmed this whole thing this time with my hair Texlaxed and it’s still trash if you are using it alone. If you are using it to straighten your hair to style, it’s great but that’s about it but let me keep my honesty to myself.
I have the very same texture. However before I straighten my hair I deep condition, steam and straighten without a lot of product. Some 4C, resistant hair requires more work to get the results. For resistant hair you don’t want to burn it out trying to straighten it. You have to prepare it. ✌🏽
Do you have a steamer you can recommend? I'm interested in adding this to my routine.
@@keexplainsitall I ordered one from Amazon called the hair steamer pro. There are professional ones that stand up as well. My steamer can be used with a hood or wand attachment. It’s about $60. Works great for my skin, and hubby’s beard too. Lol
Thank you!!
Hi, do you blow dry before straightening if not how do you dry your hair please?
Thanks for your honesty
Thanks for an honest review
Your hairline is a dream! But the first thing I said was she didnt blow dry first.
Thank you and you are right Lolol I will next thing
Thanks for this review because it is real. For all the people complaining about you not blow drying straight first, not everybody wants to do some intense blow dry. We just want a bit straighter hair not bone straight.
You can’t call people liars about their reviews when you yourself aren’t using the product correctly, which gave you different results. You can easily turn the temp down on this straightener to get the look you want but you have to put in SOME effort.
This did my hair the same exact way. I used the Design blow out system.... Blow dried, and used the straightener... Still came out the same
Thank you for the demonstration. 👍
Good to see without all the blow drying, etc. No different to flat iorn. Flat iorn is probably better. Thankyou
Exactly how mine looked after using the tymo blow dryer and tymo flat iron
You didn’t comb it first did you? Also after washing hair and blow drying, this thing works very well.
My hair was detangled. But I did not blow dry it. I allowed it to air dry. So maybe that played a part
@@madelineboateng blowdrying with a comb attachment helps a ton !
Ohok I will give it a try and film it again ☺️
@@madelineboateng did it work better for you
apply some Garnier fructis serum on damp hair, blow dry in sections until straight, then try this again, your hair should come out smoother & straighter, then add a little hair oil.
🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍 How's the hair looking now Madeline after try to silk press it? Sending you love 💕💕 always.
A hot mess 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@madelineboateng 😂😂😂😂
Honestly on 4C hair a silk press even if done at a salon only last about 2-3 days no matter what you do to get it flat. I'm only speaking from experience I'm 4C and don't even bother to flat iron it anymore not by myself anyway. Just go to the salon it's cheaper then buying all this stuff. Respectfully!!!
They have to different combs for different hair types black and pink & the black one is suppose to be for type 4c
Thank you for a Real review! 😊
Go through the hair again, I see other people using it and it works
I have this product and I can confirm it does work very well at least for my hair
My fellow Ghanaian!! We have the exact same hair texture, mine a bit wilder tho, thanks for this review!
I watched 1 second of the preview and immediately knew she’d be doing it wrong 💀 had to go to the comments to check if I was right lol
I think your result is great sis
I was crackalling how u straightened it like a brush fr girllllllll
LMAOOOO SUBSCRIBED
was your hair blow dryed? and d you use enough tension
I have the same issue when I flatiron my hair. I start sweating and I have a frow.
Your neck, your back lol. It’s looks good.
I have one and love it!! I also have the Tymo curler and straightener. My hair is mixed 3a/4 so it’s long and thick need two people to do it have so much of it but this is a big plus. I don’t straighten as much but on special occasions.
Works amazing been using it on my sister (4c)
I love your hair ❤
Thank you, I'm a Real 4C, LowP & I see that I get better results with my blow dryer. 💯
Thanks for saving me some coins.....
Thank you. You have lovely thick hair. Beautiful 😍
Thank you! 😊
Going too fast and too much hair. Not a fair review.
Wym too much hair
@@Desican215 in the brush. Sections are too big
I'm pretty sure they mean its too much hair in each pass. Using less hair w each pass, will provide better results@Desican215
Thank you ❤
Just watching you use the Tymo, I can that you aren't using the product correctly. The same thing will happen with any heating tool if you just touch it to your hair like you're doing with this one.
Thank you
You went too fast and you used it like a regular hair brush. You have to section your hair into small sections and pass it through your hair with tension slowly.
Straightening starts at 3:33
I feel your pain. I will not bother ordering this product. Thanks for sharing.
Does it leave a burn hair smell?
No it does not
Does the Tymo cause breakage to African textured hair or take your hair out in between the blades??
I didn't get any breakage
"4C do you seer see it" 😅
Helpful
I think this review is legit. I have been using this straightener for some time now, like over a year and. My hair does this everytime. It puffs back up if I don’t twist it up.
Btw I do the blow dry straightening with the blow dry heat pro, then flat iron heat protect when tamping it. My hair still blows back up. Love the straightener but wish my hair stayed straightener after doing it.
You also put moisture on your hair that is why you felt heat
Stiff where ??
You gotta go slower through your hair with it, I have relaxed hair and if I went that fast with any tool, my hair would still be puffy
Edit: just wanted to say I know this is an old video lol I’m just trying to help out anyone searching up this tool like I was, I have the tymo ion plus and love it
Umm you do know you’re suppose to blow dry your hair to straighten it right?
Try again without rushing nd prep your hair for straightening
Me trying to silk press my hair 🤣🤣 I knew it wasn’t going to work 4c hair is really hard to straight lol thanks for the review !
I was so hurt 🤣🤣 4c hair is something else.
You should see what it looks like today lol. I filmed this yesterday
No it’s not. She didn’t blow dry it first
@@Kw0806 she shouldn't have to
A friend helped me do it using this kind straightening machine and truth me told its a no for me. I also don’t understand why i need to blowdry my hair fast then straightening it. Thats just too much heat. Thats for being honest. You are rare
Thank you for the real-real. We have the exact same hair type. You saved me from wasting money on yet another product.
This don’t work for me either
Slow strokes will straighten the hair
What I dont like about this product is that it doesnt get the root. Ill stick to my Babyliss 1” flatiron 🤪
Should have blow dried it sis even with a flat iron you would need to blow dry
Girl your hair crunchy! You did not do it right. Don't blame the tool - blame you.
😂😂😂
I think your suppose to go slower. I’ve seen other videos with 4c hair and when they do the pass they go very slow. Like the longest pass you’ve probably seen in your life. I’d rather use a flat iron instead.
Yea that’s too long lol. We got things to do. I will use it if I want to stretch my hair a bit and just stick to a flat iron if I want it to be really straight
Finally, an honest review. This is exactly what i thought, another useless hair tool.. you shouldn't recommend it
sweat ???? keep passing your fingers through 😂
You suppose to blow dry your hair 1st
If you would’ve gotten your ends trimmed, blow dried your hair, used a heat protector spray or serum, with slower passes it would have gotten straighter. This isn’t a good review.
I did use a heat protector. I wouldn’t apply heat to my hair without it but thank you
Wrong TYMO...pink is cooler ...need BLACK one.
How does that even make any sense. They're both the same product 💀
@michaela1541 Natural straight hair needs pink. Those who have 4C etc need Black one. Pink one will not heat up enough for 4C hair to be dead straight.
I don’t think you really tried lol
😂😂😂 it seems like I didn’t lmao
Your supposed to
She went too fast and didn’t comb through her hair first
You did it wrong :( you didn’t prep enough
😂😂😂🇬🇭
Don't you apply anything
I think you just don’t know how to use this properly.
Your hair needs treatment try a mask and bio silk
She was totally using the tool completely WRONG
