Know what’s up? Cause dats what’s up. Ninja. Man I give up on dubstep. The fuck I don’t understand how you make it. Like do you have another regular bass that carries a progression going on then you layer a bunch of random bass wubs and wobbles and laser like sounds on top of it? It’s like no matter what I watch soon as I get on my DAW I can’t come up with sh1t when it comes to dubstep music.

    That over tone technique will be so useful, i struggle often witb trying to change tonal type pitch, but often have to resort to changing the root a semitone or two

    So much going on in this tune! About how long did it take you start to finish?

      I think most of it was written in 3 sessions or so. And then another session to do a final mix/master on it. I write very fast!

    This is really tasty! One thing though! Have you tried the moving bell EQ trick for wubs? But... How do?? I tell you how do. Place an EQ on an instrument, set the out gain to -6 and the scale to 150%. Then pull up a bell curve and audition the sound to see where a boost in the wub sounds good. Then automate the full range of gain on that EQ node to be synchronized with your LFO movements. To make my life easier I usually just switch the mapping of all of the LFO modulations to Macro 1 inside Serum, group Serum and all the audio effects into an instrument rack, assign macro 1 in Serum to macro 1 on the rack, and then assign the gain from the EQ to the same macro on the rack without messing with it's mapping parameters in the rack. I have found that this gives me some really great results and it kinda cranks the wub to it's max! And if you wanted to you could even throw on a glue compressor with the soft clipper and just turn up the gain until you get a pleasant degree of distortion. BAM. Tutorial dropped!
